We dine at Sip & Savor frequently because the menu changes with the seasons and we love the food, service and atmosphere. Plano is the land of big, loud chain restaurants with mediocre food, Sip & Savor is different. The owners, John and Teresa are almost always on site, the food is made to order, the ingredients are top quality and most wines are sold by the glass so they encourage you to taste before you buy a full bottle. I cannot say enough good things about Sip & Savor - we need more restaurants like this one in Plano.
We like the enthusiasm the staff has for their food and service; they really believe in what they do.
Neighborhood Nights menu is an excellent value, for a quality week day night dinner.
Next time I have to remind that dont use too much butter,
Ask waitress to walk slowly because it is annoying the sound of floor
This was my second time coming here with the last visit being a year ago to date. Their menu is small so it was a bit surprising that it had not changed, nor did I notice any new selections. The wine is reasonably priced which was nice. The food was good but not amazing. I recommend this place for a one time visit but that's it. The waitress was friendly, but the woman who greeted at the door was stand-offish. Overall meh.
Excellent food and service, a north Dallas, Plano, gem.
The house is a nice setting for a special occasion and a dinner date. We went for my wife's birthday on a Thursday night. The food was great - she had the filet, excellent, and I had the pork chop which was huge and succulent, not an easy feat. I'd go again just for the crab-stuffed avocado appetizer. It felt a bit pricey but for our occasion it was worth it ($100 for 2, no wine). Taking a point off for the chocolate crème-brulee that was a disappointment after an otherwise great meal.
The noise was not obnoxious but we could easily hear the other tables conversations as the room was filled; the ladies at next to us enjoyed their wine and went from gospel to f-bombs by the time we had desert.
Lastly, when I made the reservation OpenTable asked if it was a special occasion, and I noted it was my wife's birthday, not sure what to expect. Our waitress who was super friendly, though only first mentioned it after we paid the check so it kind of defeated that purpose.
Great service! Food was delicious! It’s definitely a nice spot for a quieter dinner.
Delicious as always!
My husband and I were celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary. When we first arrived, we were seated in a room in the back where a party of 6 or 8 were already seated. The party was loud, which made it difficult to have an intimate anniversary conversation. I asked the hostess if we could be moved to another room and they quickly accommodated us to the front room where three other couples were dining. The atmosphere, Service, food and wine were outstanding. If they had had the dessert we wanted, we would have stayed for dessert and coffee. The overall experience, once we were moved to another room, was fabulous. Lovely restaurant!
Charming, good food, good service. Will go again.
We had been wanting to try Sip & Savor for the better part of a decade due to its unique environment and location of being a century old farm house converted to a wine bistro nestled into the master planned subdivisions of Plano, TX.
The service at S&S was quite good, the wine selection was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was overpriced and put simply, just okay. The Wagyu ribeye was tender, but flavorless - and the sides were good, but not fantastic. Two in our party had the tenderloin filets, and said they were very good, but again the sides were just okay. The charcuterie board was quite good, but again very expensive for a very limited serving.
Needless to say, we enjoyed our evening with friends and the wine was excellent - and the food was okay - but it is very likely that we will not return to S&S unless it is for a special event that we are invited to, etc.
We took advantage of the Neighborhood Nights special, which is a tremendous value. Excellent food, wonderful service, and a great price.
As always, a fantastic time! Requested an early reservation and John was there to let us in. We enjoyed great wine, and the "Neighborhood Nights" menu was wonderful that night! As always, Hanna provides top notch service!
This place is ideal to bring a date to. I came here for Valentine’s Day and it was much better than I expected. Very cozy and unique atmosphere. The food is outstanding and the flavors are complex & expertly assembled. The waitress was friendly & her wine suggestion for us was perfect. I was thoroughly impressed with the whole experience and can’t wait to come back!
This is one of our favorite local restaurants. Everyone is friendly, and the service is great.
We love Sip & Savor. We dine there as often as possible. John (the wine man :)) is awesome he sits down and talks to you about your like and dislikes regarding the wine selection. He really listens. And, the food is spectacular! Can't say enough. We LOVE Sip & Savor.
Phenomenal food and service
Was very excited going into this restaurant but was horribly let down. Soup took 25 mins to come out. The waitress did not know the components of the special & told us the wrong thing. Special was $44 for a 6 oz filet, 2 jumbo shrimp, 1 small smashed potato, & 4 oz of vegetables. Our steaks were not cooked correctly, shrimp was cold, & potato did not come with butter or sour cream. Way over priced! Meanwhile, there was no salt or pepper on the table. Will more than likely not go back.
Fabulous as usual! Thanks, John and Teresa! The food was delicious, wine was great and we met a nice couple that we enjoyed talking to. We look forward to our next visit!
Cold- but great food and service.
As always Sip and Savor excelled with the food, ambiance and service. Sarah was very good and the owners always strive to make the customers comfortable and happy with their dining experience.
Great place but service was not very attentive. We had an issues with the mash potatoes being cold so when we got their attention they offered to replace them. We were half way finished with our meal when they finally came out. The dish they were in was very hot but the potatoes were better but still not as hot as you would think they should be. The react of the meal was very good and they gave us a glass of port to make up for the potatoes.
A wonderful experience and one we partake in when visiting relatives in Plano. One of the top five dining establishments that we have visited over the years!
I enjoyed Sip & Savor. The food was good, the service was fine, the wine recommendation was solid. However, I feel like I've eaten the same basic meal many times at a lower price point.
The service was great but we felt a little disconnected (due to the separated rooms) and didn't see our waiter when we were ready to exit. Great dining experience overall and the food was incredibly delicious.
Always a great dining experience! Love this place!
Always a pleasure to dine with John and Teresa. Food is amazing and the atmosphere is unbeatable
Great meal. Good wine list, but dominated by Californian wines. Very quiet, excellent service. Would definitely recommend.
Very good restaurant. Eaten there many times, always good. Family owned. Owners very nice. Great little wine list. Owners very helpful with some unusual labels.
Great little spot in an 1890's era house in Plano
Great place: as close to having a chef cook for you. Quiet home environment with great food. Wine selection strong but pour for price are overpriced.
Wonderful atmosphere, food, wine, and staff.
Owner very nice and friendly. Neat atmosphere with a great wine list.
The ambiance was beautiful and the food and service were both excellent.
Great food, good service! Definitely be back again!
Great food, but the ambiance is awful. You see into kitchen upon arrival (and it's not well kept). It feels like you are dining in someone's home vs. the home being turned into a restaurant. It was incredibly cold, the tables and chairs were very dated (and not well kept). It is just not what it claims to be.
This was our first time at Sip and Savor. Warning: Google maps has the location wrong. It's south of Spring Creek on Coit. The menu is interesting and we found some items that were uniquely prepared with excellent taste combinations. The service was very good. The venue is in an old Victorian style house. The ambiance was very nice. The wine list is short but they have some offerings that are really quite good. Overall a nice place to go and we will be back.
Always a great experience! Good service and amazing food and wines. Hands down my favorite spot in Plano for a great night out.
Very disappointing. Extremely overpriced and the food was not good.
