Sino Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We dined at Sino to celebrate my husband's birthday. He loves Chinese food and it had been a while since we had dinner here so I thought we'd go back for his birthday.
Right away we were struck by the incredible loud music from the bar area. We had to ask to be moved as far away from the bar as possible just so we could hear each other.
The food we ordered came out quickly and was nice and hot. We ordered soft shell crab to start then had Imperial fried rice, garlic noodles (delicious), Mandarin beef, honey walnut prawns, and Brussels sprouts. The food was good but not as good as I recalled from previous visits.
Don't go here if you plan to talk to other people at your table. It's a better place for cocktails and bar fare and little conversation.
We arrived and was kindly greeted and seated fast by the hostess. After the great introduction everything begun to shift for the worst.
Our food took a very long time to arrive at our table. Two of the savory dishes (kumquat chicken & Mongolian beef ) arrived first. The two dishes were very rich in flavor, which we didn’t mind; however we ordered the emperor fried rice to ease the rich flavor and that rice dish took close to another 5 min. When the kumquat chicken arrived it was warm/cool, as I described to our waitress - minimal response of, “oh”. Also the chicken was somewhat hard to chew. Not the best customer service & not the best food situation either. The restaurant selection of at Santana Row is great, not sure if I’ll return to Sino for a 4th time.
It was a Friday night so it was busy. Service wasn't the greatest and was a little slow. She seemed busy and didnt check in on us often. I believe that was more towards the beginning when we had appetizers and not yet ordered the entrees yet.
Really good food.
Not too many veg/no egg option.
Quite loud inside. But it's a great place. Not value food but we go there often for lunch-time dim sum. This was the first time I had gone for a 3 couple dinner.
Sino looks amazing but is the worst restaurant I have been to in a long time. It was so loud, no one could talk to each other and I was getting irritated because I was getting a headache. We had a table of 7, all ordered at the same time and 3 people didn't get their food till an hour after everyone else was finished. My drink was horrible and it went around the table for everyone to taste and everyone thought it was horrible. They didn't take it off the bill and wouldn't. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I am so disappointed as I was so looking forward to Dim sum; however, the Dim sum was frozen before hand and tasted freezer burnt. So disappointing.
Worst birthday ever and worst restaurant experience ever.
For the last 5 years my friends and I go to sino's often, we always celebrate birthdays here, and have always enjoyed the food and service.
So I was appalled at the service we received, the food quality and the response from management and other servers when we voiced our complaints. Food orders were messed up, some of my guests never received neither their food or drinks, and some of the staff thought it was funny that we had such a horrible experience. I've never felt so unimportant. I still can't believe that my birthday celebration was that big of a joke to Sino.
A very good restaurant, lot's of space so you are not crowded, great for business with lot's of space to sit 2 to 8 people down in your own area and able to talk and be heard. Food was very, very good and unique. A cool look and feel and plenty of outside seating. Just a very good place.
The food was great. Our server did not time our order properly so we weren't even halfway done with appetizers when the entrees came out. We asked if they could keep the food warm but was told that all the warming lights in the kitchen were being used so we had to take the food. She made it seem like it was our fault for not eating fast enough. We had to send away half eaten appetizers to make space on the table for the entrees. The restaurant did not seem to be at capacity so there should have been no reason for her to make us feel like we needed to hurry up.
Organized a bridal shower for a group of 12. Space was large enough to make it a great place for this.It was an extremely hot day so we sat inside. We were seated in the back large room which turned out to be very warm so we asked to turn the temp cooler. Nothing was changed nor were we updated on what they were doing about it. So it was a bit uncomfortable that day.( I don't usually work up a sweat drinking Sangria-White Lychee-delish!) Décor is lovely, modern w/dark tones of black and bright pop of reds. Level of noise is moderate to high (louder towards the front/bar area) with fun techno music playing. Since this place is big maybe our server was spread too thin but he kept disappearing for very long periods so when guests arrived had to wait for a bit too long to get drink orders and dim sum orders going. It seemed we waited for everything for a long time (drink order, food order, packing food to-go, to getting the check). Our party remained for 3 hours. That may not be the norm because our group was big and we had little activities going on but I would not come here if I had a movie or show to get to/time commitment. Dim sum & entrees are wonderful, fresh and vibrant in flavors and presentation. Worth every calorie consumed! :-)
They seemed to not handle the busy time very well. Our chowmein was super late and was confused with some other order. We got that way after we finished eating dinner. Had to take the parcel back. They did give complimentary rice but they should have offered more for their late messed up services. This messed up the kind of food we decided to eat here and had to eat a lot of carbs. I might not go back there!!
