I was very disappointed with the food. I had prime rib that appeared to be old and pan fried to reheat. I was hungry and eat most of the meal that I should have refused . Antonio made it right
sending me home with a cut of prime rib that was excellent.
Love the bread.....best in the world. Calamari was good, salads average, prime rib excellent but sea bass was not remarkable. Still a great dinner and place to dine with a view of Denver.
As usual, Simms is our favorite steakhouse in the Denver area. We have yet to have a bad experience and continue to visit over the years due to their consistent quality service and food. This visit was no exception - everything was great. We will continue to visit. And the view from the restaurant is great as well.
Pricey as ever but well worth it as ever! My favorite place for date night with my wife. And the view is the best in town.
Food tasted great. Loved the prime rib. I have to say though, I am getting suspicious. We come here pretty often, and love the place, but this was the second time I have gotten sick shortly after eating at Simms. The first time was after brunch several months ago, and then after a prime rib dinner two days ago. Bottom line is that I am a bit leery. I have a pretty strong stomach tolerance (Mexican food, Pizza, etc.) and I wouldn't expect too have prime rib or a nice brunch create a problem for me.
As always Great Food Great Staff Service
We went for my friends birthday. The food was wonderful and that sat us by the window as requested.
Excellent service & great food. Morgan was superb server.
Great place for date night. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Food was Ok, but prices too high for the quality.
Been going to this restaurant since 1976, and Landry's ownership has taken the experience down a notch.
This place never disappoints. The entire meal was delicious. And the Staff is excellent.
Our filet was the best I've had in a long time. The French onion soup was amazing. The chocolate cake we had for dessert was incredible! And of course the view is unmatched in the Denver area.
Steak was amazing, filet center cut. Creamed spinage, and brussel sprouts were wonderful.
Salmon pretty average, don't spend the money..
The service was ok, our waitress wasn't very friendly, a little snotty, but over all, I will go back!!
Vince was such a wonderful server. He made my birthday dinner so pleasant. I Will definitely be back!! Thank you!
We love coming here for dinner but really enjoy treating ourselves to the magnificent brunch on occasion. This was the purpose of our visit this last time around. The service was great until it started getting crowded. Then the waiters were busy elsewhere and we weren't getting waited on as quickly as when we first arrived. It took a while for me to get a coffee refill. Then I had to ask for the check when someone was passing by (we had plans afterward and were on a schedule). The food is always delicious and filling at Simm's. The staff is very friendly. I'll go back. I'll just make sure I can relax and enjoy myself in case it gets busy, rather than feeling rushed.
The omelets were good, but the eggs benedict were cold and the prime rib was was so tough it was not edible.
We thought the food was average, and quite over priced.
Excellent beef. Pricey, but great spot for the view and dining out for a special occasion. Lobster bisque could have been hotter, but delicious flavor. Prime rib was cooked exactly as ordered.
Food was average. The price for the steak and pork job was $45 per plate during Restaurant week. We will not be dinning here again.
Great food, a bit pretentious, but otherwise a good time. Seating is rather close, we could hear the couple next to us, weird...
It was a bummer to wait 20 minutes for a table when we made a reservation, but when we got the table, it was a very nice booth so that made up for it. Our server was very nice, I just think her section was too big. I know it was a buffet-style brunch but some things like coffee and crab crackers took a fair amount of time to get from her. Good variety and options for brunch. Great for the whole family. Decent Bloody Mary for $5.
Last here in April 2015. Food tastier and more options now. Loved the brunch. Will come again soon.
Love this restaurant, the view is amazing, the ambiance was perfect. I was there for 5280 Restaurant Week and based on my experience over the years visiting other restaurants, the portions were a bit large. I only had half of my meal and didn't have room for dessert. I ended up taking most of it home. I would have preferred smaller portions with a cheaper rate.
k, i realize that i went for restaurant week but i still paid $45 a plate. the steak was fatty. on both plates. one better than the other though, and of course i am the one that has a bigger aversion to fat and got the one with more fat. it is covered with sauce so you cant see it. i almost puked... we would have been better off to just get a steak off the regular menu i am assuming. however the lady next to us ordered prime rib and that looked very fatty as well. overall very disappointed...
Wonderful view and food, we will be back for sure! Great staff and service
Celebrated my anniversary here. Service food and ambiance were all wonderful. The view was absolutely breathtaking. The waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely go back.
My food was cooked to perfection. My sister did not care for the chocolate cake. She said it tasted store bought. I suggested stick with the turtle cheesecake.
Services was great and we did not wait long for our table.
Kurtis is an incredible server. Hostesses are exceptional. Overall and always an excellent dining experience. It’s not just ‘grabbing a meal’, but enjoying every moment and every bite. Kurtis is excellent at recommending wines to meet your tastebuds and price. My absolute favorite restaurant. Thanks Simms.
Hubby’s 40th birthday and was excellent as always. We live very close - sure beats driving downtown for a nice dinner. We don’t mind paying for awesome food and unbeatable service.
We had reservations for 7:30 but weren't seated until after 8:00. That was frustrating. Once seated, though, the service was fantastic. My wife even commented about hot good the service was. The steaks were good, but they weren't as flavorful as some we've had. I do highly recommend the Roasted Bacon appetizer...it was delicious. The view overlooking the city was very nice and we liked that it was quiet enough to carry on a conversation without having to feel like we were yelling. Overall a good experience...but it's a once or twice a year treat for us to spend this much on dinner. The disappointments of the late seating and the good but not great steak will likely have us looking somewhere else next time.
Why make a reservation and still wait and additional 30mminutes..... poor management I think.
Went here to celebrate an anniversary and a promotion I had recently gotten. Steak was ordered medium, showed up well done. Mushrooms we're burnt to a crisp. My GF sat there with her dish getting cold for 20 mins while I waited for my food to be recooked while sides and everything else got cold. Server finally brought my steak after I asked about it. Made no attempt to remedy the situation, until after we said we didn't want to dessert, he offered to give a free dessert. Overall extremely poor experience and for a $250 dinner, I will be sure to bring my business to somewhere that appreciates it.
WOW! Wow. Wow. We were impressed!
We have eaten at Simms several times before, (and ALWAYS had a great experience), but on this occasion, we had an interesting challenge for our dining experience. My husband and I are both in the middle of Whole30, which if you've done it, you know the restrictions; it almost makes eating out impossible. But we wanted to go out to celebrate Valentine's Day/my birthday, and we chose Simms knowing we could get a great steak that's on plan. I called ahead to see what kinds of sides we could order and how things were cooked, so we could choose/modify items that would fit on the plan. When I called, they actually transferred me directly to the chef! I told him we were on Whole30, so we chatted for a few minutes and he gave me some ideas and told me how things were cooked, and then said, "You know what! When you get here, just ask for Chef Jason, and I'll come out and we'll get a menu all worked out for you guys." So sure enough, when we got there, Chef Jason not only came out, he SAT with us for several minutes, coming up with a customized menu that we could eat that was on plan, and said he had already started our on plan baked potatoes. (ADDITIONALLY, because he hadn't heard about Whole30 before, he actually researched it before we got there, so he was prepared with really good ideas of what would fit our needs.) So he customized our dinners, and of course - they were AMAZING! Chef Jason couldn't have been nicer. He was SO incredibly friendly and accommodating, and we appreciated him and his time so much. Further, our server Summer was also understanding of our (crazy) requests, and was SUPER nice and wonderful to us too. We were INSANELY impressed by the service and attention that we received. We will DEFINITELY be returning, and have already told tons of people about our amazing experience. THANK YOU SIMMS STEAKHOUSE!!!! You really went above and beyond, and made our evening incredibly special.
This was our best time ever at Simms Steakhouse. The Lamb Loin, as well as, the Chilean Sea Bass were outstanding. Everyone else were thrilled with their steaks, too.
Had our date night for late Valentine's. Loved the view, food and atmosphere. Love that root beer glazed bacon as an appetizer.
Very disappointing. I've come here often for birthdays & holidays. Both the food & sevice were not up to par.
We had an 8:15 pm reservation on Feb 14 and checked in at 8:00. After waiting about 20 minutes and saw others that arrived later than we did my wife asked the attendant for status she said our name had been called so we would be seated ASAP. And we moved so we moved closer to the station. At 9:00 I asked for status, she rudely said our name was called 5 times which wasn't true... We both heard every name that was called. After waiting a full hour we left. That was our Valentines experience at Simms steakhouse.
We dined on Valentines. Champagne while we were waiting was a nice touch. We took advantage of wine Wednesday which was great. The food, service, and ambience were fantastic.
Had a reservation and waited another 30 minuets to get seated. Waited at bar for 20 minutes to even get acknowledged. Won’t go back!
The view as always was amazing to see the city lights. The service was slow, although we went on Valentines Day so it was a busy night for them. The baked potatoes we ordered were only 1/2 cooked, the brussel sprouts were the same way, some were cooked and some were raw and crunchy. The bathrooms were dirty and outdated, the tile floors were cracked. Then to end our evening, the valet driver either had very bad BO or messed himself as our vehicle smelled so bad when we got in we had to have the windows down for a couple blocks just to air it out. Overall not a good experience
