Simms Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Although the food was delicious, it was very expensive; dinner for two on our anniversary came to $169. Waiter was nice but lacked personality, and the music in the background was very loud; I had to ask them to turn it down, which they did. When we had our leftovers packed up, the waiter forgot to give us our tuna we had him put aside in their refrigerator. However, we called the next morning after we realized it and they still had it (remarkably enough). So when I returned the next night to get it at 9:00, place was practically empty (Friday night) and the music was so loud that I had to yell to the hostess for her to hear me.
Overall, nice atmosphere (once music was turned down), but definitely not kid friendly due to menu choice/cos
Wonderful evening with only one exception. The table next to us was enjoying the evening with cocktails and as the time passed the conversations became quite loud without regard to the other guests. Their business deals and conquests were not appreciated by the remainder of the restaurant.
Really noticed the other servers were providing better service to other tables, our server never checked in with us ...yet the 2 tables next to us she constantly assisted. Would walk past us and look away with no eye contact, not checking our drinks or telling us sorry our main coarse took forever. When we paid she took forever to return with our card. But very bad service all together.
We Loved Willie G's and The Aquarium. The service there has always been spectacular. Will never go to Simms again do to poor service. Sorry, I was really excited to try it out had been referred and very disappointed!
I have never given a bad rating I usually call to compliment. Just thought I would note.
We visited this resturant for a special occasion last year and found it very special, however our visit this year was less so. I ordered ths mac and cheese because it was so good before and this time I was unable to eat it. The salads were not as good as before and the shrimp I ordered was tough, however my wife ordered the prime rib and it was very good. We will think twice before we go back again.
Simms Steakhouse has a great looking interior with spectacular views of the city. We had a great table that overlooked the city. The atmosphere was great for talking and dining. Our waiter was very informed about the wine list and lead us in the right direction towards an excellent bottle of wine. The service was outstanding too! We had a great appetizer of Calamari and a wonderful beet salad. 3 out of our 4 entree's were OK and not too flavorful.
That would be our only complaint. Would go back for appetizers but probably not dinner.
We have been to Simms twice and had a wonderful experience both times. The food is phenomenol and both times our service was excellent. It is one of the more expensive restaurants on the Landry's selection, however with the excellent service and food, we do receive a high quality atmosphere all around!
We've been to Simms many times. We've brought people there for business a few times and we've been there for family dinners. We're always pleased with our dinner and experience. Our service has always been wonderful from valet to manager. Food is always good and we always end up with a really nice bottle of wine. The view is great! We've never been disappointed as a family we love dinners at Simms!
We went to Simms for my birthday, I drive by it every day and I've been wanting to try it. The staff was all very friendly however I agree with the other reviewers who commented on it being overpriced. I was expecting that however I was extremely disappointed that my steak was dry and overcooked. I ordered it medium and there was just a touch of pink in the very center and the rest was cooked well and was brown throughout. I know the right thing to do would have been to let them know so they have the opportunity to correct it but we had our 10 month old son with us and our time was limited.
i have never written an online review, so it must have been TERRIBLE for me to take the time. we were there for brunch, and it became a family joke that we couldn't find a dish that was warm or cooked properly. i was honestly surprised that everything was so bad.
great views but the food was junk.
Mother's Day Brunch was served all day and was the only menu choice which we did not realize before arriving. The food was worn out and mediocre by the time we arrived for our 5:45 PM reservation. Despite our reservation we had to wait for 20 minutes. Service was very good. Normally Simms is much better than this.
Went there for Mother's Day and the service was horrible. We were coming for dinner and they were offering the buffet- no menu orders. Our waiter did not tell us about the buffet or offer us drinks until we had been sitting there for 20 minutes and had to ask him if they were serving and for drinks. I was quite embarrassed that we brought my Mom here for Mother's Day. They made this a very UN- special occasion.
We went for mother's day brunch, since we have had a good experience with Simm's happy hour. Unfortunately, I can't say that we had the same experience at the Brunch. The shrimp was overcooked, oysters were not that fresh and the prime rib had a lot of tendon and grisle in it. Additionally the service was very slow.
Felt the room where they set up the brunch was too small for the amount of people they crammed into the place. Should still offer the senior discount on Mothers day since the majority of the woman there were over 60 and the amount of the food they eat is no where the price we paid. The shrimp was over cooked and mushy, not enough dessert selections. The salad that I had was over done with olive oil. Would not go back for the brunch
Didn't think the price was worth the food, there were several options but I am not a seafood or prime rib eater so the value did not match what I ate. The service and staff were great they all seemed to be upbeat and happy considering the volume of people in the restaruant
We had a noon reservation for Mother's Day Brunch. Arrived a few minutes before noon and was told we'd be seated right at noon. At 12:15 I approached the reservation desk, apparently our reservation had ended up at the bottom of the pile and we'd been forgotten. Once I inquired about the status they did seat us immediately, however, if I hadn't gone to see what the problem was I have no idea how long we might have sat there. Once seated the waiter seemed to be somewhat harried and it took him a few moments to catch his breath but once he did he was very accommodating and attentive.
Went to mother's Day Brunch...food was great..but resteraunt was packed beyond capacity. Lounging area were being used by brunch attendees and the food line was too crowded to be able to see all the offerings...Althouh the food was great, it was not well presented. If you are looking for a relaxing brunch this is not it, but if presentaion and ambiance are not concerns...it was a great meal. Having said that I am anxious to return for dinner, the resteraunt has and increadible outdor lounge area and the food was great...just too croweded.
I have the feeling that people are still confusing the old Simm's Landing with the new(er)Simm's Steakhouse; now owned by Landry's. This was our 4th visit to the renamed and upgraded restaurant. From any standpoint; menu, quality of food, service, wine list, etc., each visit has been equal, or better than, some of the better known Denver area specialty restaurants. Try it.
My wife's 50th birthday and my mom from out of state was in attendance. Mom stated one of the best meals she has ever had,,, and she had been around fine dining for awhile. Drinks were solid and the waiter was excellent! The Denver skyline never looked better. Excellent experience!!!
The steaks were excellent (cooked to perfection), the salads were chilled and the service was very good. We loved the patio and being able to sit by the fire and have a drink. As always, the view was great! We were there for our anniversary and will definitely come back!
