Our experience was very disappointing and we will never go back to this restaurant. We had let our server know that we had a play to attend and therefore needed to receive our food in a timely manner. Unfortunately, after waiting for 1.5 hours for our food and calling the manager over, we were hurriedly given our food in take out boxes. The manager did "comp" my husband's steak, but other parts of our order were not correct, but we were in such a hurry we couldn't wait for them to rectify the situation. We left the restaurant as hungry as when we had arrived and only made our play by 4 minutes. We also had asked our server to choose a red wine by the glass. No surprise here, she chose the most expensive glass (of course) without telling us. She also lied to us when we asked where our food was, about an hour into the evening. She said it was "being plated as we speak". We are regulars at many expensive steak houses throughout the Denver metro area. Simms Steakhouse is definitely off our list and we will go out of our way to tell our friends and family to avoid this restaurant.
I've been to Simm several times without issue. My husband and I went for our anniversary, hoping for a nice quiet evening. Unfortunately everyone and their brother was having huge company Christmas parties and it was so loud I couldn't hear myself think let alone have a conversation with my husband. We had delicious appetizer (tuna poke), but drinks that were forgotten. My salad wasn't very fresh looking and not as good as the last time I had it (pear salad). My hubby had prime rib which he loved and baked potato that was undercooked. I had to send my $39.00 steak back because it smelled and tasted funny. I don't know if it was bad or something it was marinated in but for that price I couldn't eat it. The manager apologized, offered something else (I lost my appetite) and took it off our bill which we appreciated but were bummed none the less. The cream spinach was good but room temp and overall the night was a bust because of the noise level. We had reservations at 7:15 but waited to be seated 30 minutes. Overall it was a disappointing evening for such an expensive restaurant, I doubt I'll return.
All around was very enjoyable!
Waitress was up selling to the point of being reaaaaaaaaly annoying. Then got dejected when we didn't add a ton of drinks and apps. Told her I was celebrating my dad's special 80th birthday and she didn't even bother to at least bring a piece of cake on a $200 bill. Won't be back.
Reservation was at 7:30...not seated until 8:20...blonde hostess was super friendly & helpful (comped 2 glasses of wine), brunette hostess boarded on rude...waiter not very attentive..had to ask (someone else) for our baked potato...super noisy...steak was amazing!

My partners first time at a steak house was extremely lack luster.
The whiskey drinks were bland fare. Old fashions and Manhattans are basic drinks with room for interpretation and Simms bartender got the ratios incorrect. If you’re going to charge $13 for a basic Manhattan use Luxardo cherries not Maraschino cherries.
My partner order the special. Buffalo strip with scallops mash potatoes and green beans served to order. The buffalo was seared well but there was an incredible amount of inedible fat / gristle along the edge of the cut. While flavored well my partner was spitting out her first few bites.
I order the 22oz bone in ribeye. This is the leanest ribeye I have ever had. The texture was more a NY strip than a Ribeye. While the steak doneness was perfect the flavor was extremely lacking. The steak was grey and a little sad looking when it arrived. I ate around half of it. It was fine but there was no *joy* moment of biting into a $60 ribeye. I can produce better results with my cast iron skillet and a 500 degree over. The Brussels sprouts were overdone and mushy. The smoked cheddar Mac and cheese had very little flavor. The cheese sauce base was a mystery to me and my partner seemed to think it tasted too much like velvets shells and cheese.
Dessert was uninspired. I frowned when my partner wanted to try the banana peanut butter cake. I knew it would come out partially frozen. Cakes that sit in freezers until served always have a freezer burn texture and lack moisture.
For a $300 dinner We were incredibly disappointed.
Service was fine however we were sat 45 minutes late from our reservations.
Food was good, service was good, salad didn't cut it, prices are high
The server we had Friday night I believe had to many tables to handle. Very attentive toward us until he got three more tables and them we waited for everything. Food, another drink, check. We had plans after dinner but we were late because we couldn't get our check so we could leave.
I don’t normally complain however you had to cut the Mahi with a steak knife tasted like it had been frozen for months . Couldn’t eat any of my meal and all they offered was a free dessert which the Chef had already comped prior to the meal. The waiter was excellent and professional but after spending over $400 for a dinner for 4 I won’t go there again.
Simms has always been a great place for a special occasion brunch or dinner. Brunch has many options and is kept neat and clean no matter the number of people going through the line. Brunch has both "breakfast" items and lunch options which is a welcome change - much better than the places that offer "brunch" and you are actually ordering off of a set "brunch" menu with limited options.
And the view - day or night - can't be beat !
First time and was thrilled with the experience. The food was fantastic, the service was spectacular and the view was amazing. From the free valet service to having the plates taken away everyone on the staff was super friendly and professional. Can't wait to bring family and friends here and will absolutely recommend to others. Thank you for the great experience.
With all the choices on the buffet, we didn't find anything that wasn't great ! The servers and managers were all extremely helpful.
Thanksgiving brunch was the best. Wonderful assortment of dishes to choose from. Wait staff was fantastic!
Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. Food was hot and there were a large variety of dishes. This was my 2nd Thanksgiving dinner at Simms and will visit again next year. Thanks so much.
We went for Thanksgiving brunch and the waiter we had was absolutely fantastic. He was super attentive and paid attention to detail. We were disappointed with some of the food. Yes there were a lot of options on the buffet but the taste of some weren't worth the calories.
Went for Thanksgiving - I always appreciate the people who have to work on holidays for those of us who go out. The food has always been good when I've come here
I took my family here for Thanksgiving yesterday and could not have been more pleased. The service was impeccable and the food was wonderful with many many different varieties for all different kinds of tastes. The view of Denver is spectacular as well .I would highly recommend this for a holiday buffet even know it is a little bit pricey.. it’s worth not having to cook or clean as a part of any kind of celebration .
I have always enjoyed Simms Steakhouse and been several times for special occasions and business events.
On Our most recent visit Friday night for my spouses birthday we were disappointed in the service. We had to wait for drinks and the refills to our water & drink glasses were never received. It was not our servers fault she was extremely busy with several tables. In my opinion they were understaffed.
But when spending well over $100 for a dinner for two the expectations for exceptional service are there.
Excellent views of the City. Easy to get to. Valet parking. Waiter very wine knowledgeable.
Hadn't been there in many years, went for Sunday brunch. The food was just ok. When I went to the buffet, there were often two or three of the entree selections empty so I didn't get to try some of the things I wanted to try. The food seemed a bit dried out.
Fabulous dinner and a good price for the quality of food. We did have to wait about 30 minutes after our reservation but we were just out for a relaxing dinner so we had drinks in the bar.
I had the 7-oz. filet (medium) and my wife had the trout. The filet was melt-in-my-mouth tender and seasoned enough to let the flavor of the filet come through. My wife enjoyed her lobster bisque as well. My lettuce wedge salad could have done with a little less bleu cheese dressing but was otherwise crisp and hearty. The side of green beans with onions was good, if not spectacular. I'm not sure how one makes green beans spectacular, anyway. They're just a good accompaniment to steak. The rolls with cinnamon honey butter were a delicious appetizer. Our server, Adam, took good care of us without being obtrusive. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal.
Food, Service & Ambiance was amazing. Thanks for providing my wife & I such a great evening. Prime rib & wedge salad amazing as always.

We dine out a lot and know good service We had a reservation and the restaurant was not busy. Despite being a few minutes early it took them an additional 17 minutes to seat us. We asked for a cocktail menu but the server insisted on telling us about their beer menu. We asked for water. After several minutes of inattentiveness of the server, we flagged down another server. It took forever for our drinks to come. We ordered dinner. Again I must emphasize the place was not busy. We had to ask for water numerous times. While we were eating our salads all of a sudden one of the side dishes comes out and the server suggested that it was a computer error. We said fine we will nibble on it until the rest of the food comes out. The Dish was in the middle of the table and after we flagged someone down for water our server took our forks so we couldn’t nibble. We ordered medium steaks. Mine was rare and undercooked. Our baked potato was cold and the butter and cheese would not melt. This should not happen at a place of “fine dinning”. The manager tried to smooth over the situation but it was too late. By the time the correct preparation of the food was completed, the rest of our party had finished eating. I have dined at Simms numerous times over the years and this will be the last time. I cannot articulate what a terrible time I had there.
For many years my wife and I have loved this place and celebrated about every special occasion here. My wife's filet was five stars but the bison special I had was far less than par. The seasoning was so overwhelming that the taste of the actual meat was lost. We will be back but the special was very disappointing. It hurts, really hurts, to write this review.
I was very dishearted with Simms.
Two of us had the New York Strip, it was tuff and most definitely not a prime cut of beef. The price dictated it should have been!
Our order of scalloped potatoes came when the meal was 2/3 done and even though I asked if it would be taken off the bill , it was not.
Our waiter Morgan was awesome and gave good recommendations and the food was amazing. This was my first bone in filet and it did not disappoint. I only wished we weren’t seated right in front of the kitchen entrance as it wasn’t even that busy so we could’ve had a quieter ambiance for our first anniversary but really the food was so great that It didn’t damper the evening
