Kurt was our waiter. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be back. ❤️
It was really good.
We joined for Sunday Brunch on Easter. The food was so-so; included lots of things I might find at Costco (mini eclairs, yeast rolls, cookies.) I enjoyed the bottomless mimosas so eventually I didn't notice the food.
Easter Brunch was beyond amazing! We had an excellent table with a view of downtown Denver - we could see for miles and miles. The food was delicious and there were so many great selections. Other than it took a long time to get our check, the service was fantastic. And the mimosas ... the coffee was always fresh and piping hot. We have decided that we’ll have Easter Brunch at Simms Steakhouse from now on out!
We were in from out of town and Simms was the "special" place we always went when our family gathered previously so we went. The food and view were wonderful as always but the service was definitely lacking. We had asked for a sling for an infant that was never delivered and our water glasses sat empty for a long time until we finally flagged people down. It just seemed like a real lack of attention.
Excited for prime rib special. Have not visited in 2 years and sadly I ordered med rare and it was closer to med well which ruins the cut. Green beans were cooler in temp. The French onion soup was delicious as well as the bread and butter. If I had more time I would have sent prime rib back for an accurately cooked piece. Great views and service!
We truly enjoyed our first dining experience at Simm’s. I know this is an expensive restaurant and yet the portions for all the dishes we ordered were more than decent. $10 (Saga) salad was large enough to split between me and my daughter. The complimentary bread with cinnamon honey butter was delicious. After eating the salad, lobster soup and bread, we were 70% full and we did not have to order any dinner so we ended saving $$.
Excellent service in the dining room. It was slow in the bar, even though not busy. Atmosphere is always fantastic. My filet mignon was cooked to the right temperature and was very tender. However, it was way too salty.
It has been many years since I've been to Simm's for brunch. There were a variety of food options...even some lunch/dinner items along with shrimp cocktail and crab legs if you didn't want all breakfast fare. Most of the items that I sampled were good and cooked well. There was a made to order omelette station, also. I did not try an omelette, but they looked and smelled wonderful as the cooks were preparing them. I gave only three stars for the value as Simm's does tend to be a bit expensive and if not for coupons/reward cards, I couldn't afford to eat here. With that said, the brunch was more affordable than the lunch/dinner items. Those are quite expensive.
The food is phenomenal and the service is top-notch. Great views. Would highly recommend!
This is our favorite place!!! The servers and managers are all very kind and we feel at home here
Good food, good friends, great service, perfect evening. Will be back.
Mediocre at best for the price. The second consecutive visit where the steak was not the proper temperature; ordered medium rare, receive medium well. The service staff were good as always.
Prime rib was tough and tasteless. I have had the lobster in the past that was excellent however this is suppose to be a steak house
We chose Simms Steakhouse to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. Our choices for this celebration were Simms Steakhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse. Simms is closer to our home and is considered fine dining. Longhorn is further away from our home, and, in my opinion, can also be considered fine dining. Simms is considerably more expensive ($$$) than Longhorn. The steak’s between the two restaurants are comparable, but the overall food value at Longhorn, in our opinion, is better than at Simms. I ordered the Ciopinno at Simms and it was absolutely the BEST fish stew I have ever eaten! The east-facing view at Simms is really what this restaurant has going for it. One has to ask themselves, is the view worth 20-30% more on your overall check? Hmmm...I think our repeat business belongs to Longhorn!
We hadn’t finished our salad and they brought our entre- my entre was the size of an appetizer - the shrimp was burnt- my friends baked potatoe wasn’t cooked-,3 times while seated the waiter dropped their tray with plates crashing to the floor- they did give us free dessert after we complained- our waitress was amazing and did great service recovery
I’m a NY guy visiting and took family out for a nice dinner and it was awesome
So great. Will be back.
Food was mediocre and cold. The prime rib was the highlight. it was cooked well, perfectly aged, and the bark on the outside was spectacular. The jumbo shrimp appetizer was weak and lacked flavor, definitely not worth the price. The brussels sprouts were soggy and lacked flavor; same with the mushrooms. Over all, it was just an expensive Outback Steakhouse experience. We’ll stick with 801 Chophouse and Morton’s. Bummer, because we really wanted to give this place a great review because the view is fantastic if Denver. The wait service suffered and trying to get a refill on drinks is like pulling teeth. Overall, it wasn’t meant to be. 😢
Most of the food was good but the steaks weren't spectacular. We asked for no ice in the water but the waiter didn't even care if we weren't ordering alcohol.
Such a better experience than last time! First time here was on a Valentine's Day and this restaurant could not handle the huge crowd. Decided to give them a second chance for an Anniversary and things could not have been better. When we arrived, the hostess apologized for not having the perfect table ready as some previous guests had stayed much longer than expected, but that she would do everything to meet my reservation request of having a table with a nice view. I was very pleased that she knew I had requested this and was doing her best to accommodate. We were seated a great table with a good view and given menus that said, "Happy Anniversary", on the top, a very nice touch. We started with a maple bacon appetizer that was delicious. My girlfriend had the filet, I ordered the dry aged sirloin. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. Our server made sure to ask if I had ever had dry aged steak before because it is a different experience and some customers had not enjoyed it. I loved it and was very glad I ordered it. Everything we ordered, sides, drinks, desserts, was phenomenal. I am very glad we came back and would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a great meal with a fantastic view of the city.
As has always been the case for all the times I have dined here. The meal, ambiance, views and service were great. This is our go to spot for birthdays and other celebrations.
Appreciate the great service from wait staff Summer and warm welcome from Tony
Old school steakhouse. The food was good. Waitstaff were great.
Menu is too pricey for our taste....Why would anyone charge $10 for a side of potatoes? Seems like a place for those who like to show Denver skyline and sip wine?
We had an excellent dinner. The service was excellent, too.
Not great quality for what they charge. Prime rib was not tender and had lots of waste. Not impressed at all.
Compared to other restaurants in the price range; Shanahan's, Elway's, Del Frisco's, etc., it is a distant second. Other than the unique and beautiful view, it is comparable to a mid level steakhouse. My NY Strip ($45) was unrecognizably large when it arrived. I had to trim off considerable gristle and fat around the outside before cutting off a bite. (The actual steak was pretty good.)
Our waitress PUSHED HARD the $170 seafood tower (party of seven). When asked if a baked potato ($9) was large enough to share (between a couple in their 60s) she said no, they are really too small to share. They weren't. She suggested a buffalo steak ($68) which my son ordered. It was ok, but not special.
I will come back for drinks for the view, but not for dinner.
Had dinner with my parents for their last night of a visit after driving by for years. So glad we came in! The food was excellent, the service was delightful and we lingered over a great meal and great company. We will be back!
Great food and great service. 8:30 on a Saturday was slow so we had the restaurant to ourselves most of the time.
Morgan , did a great job serving ! My daughter and I couldn’t have had a better time !
Great food and experience
I love Simms as does my family when they come to town. Keep up the great service. As a local it’s my favorite restaurant.
Overall awesome dining experience!
Wait time upon checking in was 20 minutes, buffet was running out of food. Omelet bar was backed up 5-7 people at a time. Would suggest someone to keep an eye on cleanliness, was so busy I don't think they could keep up with refilling things and wiping down spoons, etc.
Great food, could’ve been slightly better for the price point, but the view was worth it all. Great date night. Will be back again.
The views are very nice. We’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and haven’t ever visited. Had a reservation at 645, arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar. Hostess came over 15 mins before reservation and said the table was ready. Told her that we had order an appetizer that had taken a while to come to us and to give me 5 minutes to settle out the bar tab. Ended up giving away our table after 5 minutes and worked for about 30 additional minutes to accommodate our reservation. Service was slow and seemed understaffed for a Saturday night. Ordered half dozen oysters and only received 5. Lobster bisque was only slightly warm/cold when received. Lobster was good but steak was over cooked and tough. Side of mushrooms were burnt and crispy. Wine was poured into our glasses at a fast rate and ended up having to have some poured back into the bottle at the end of the evening. Table was not bussed so several used plates and utensils were spread across the table. Definitely not what we expected for an establishment that we’ve heard great things about
It was OK, nothing fancy. Order was wrong, but I didn’t bring it up.
Amazing view, great food. While the server was very nice, the food came out really slowly and our empty plates sat in front of us for a really long time before being cleared..
great ambiance, but over priced. Dinner for 4 with tip, one bottle of wine $515. two sirloins, one filet, one mahi, brussel sprouts, 2 potatoes, 1 creme brulet. couple drinks. High by even Ny or chicago standards.
