Had dinner with my parents for their last night of a visit after driving by for years. So glad we came in! The food was excellent, the service was delightful and we lingered over a great meal and great company. We will be back!
Great food and great service. 8:30 on a Saturday was slow so we had the restaurant to ourselves most of the time.
Morgan , did a great job serving ! My daughter and I couldn’t have had a better time !
Great food and experience
I love Simms as does my family when they come to town. Keep up the great service. As a local it’s my favorite restaurant.
Overall awesome dining experience!
Wait time upon checking in was 20 minutes, buffet was running out of food. Omelet bar was backed up 5-7 people at a time. Would suggest someone to keep an eye on cleanliness, was so busy I don't think they could keep up with refilling things and wiping down spoons, etc.
Great food, could’ve been slightly better for the price point, but the view was worth it all. Great date night. Will be back again.
The views are very nice. We’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and haven’t ever visited. Had a reservation at 645, arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar. Hostess came over 15 mins before reservation and said the table was ready. Told her that we had order an appetizer that had taken a while to come to us and to give me 5 minutes to settle out the bar tab. Ended up giving away our table after 5 minutes and worked for about 30 additional minutes to accommodate our reservation. Service was slow and seemed understaffed for a Saturday night. Ordered half dozen oysters and only received 5. Lobster bisque was only slightly warm/cold when received. Lobster was good but steak was over cooked and tough. Side of mushrooms were burnt and crispy. Wine was poured into our glasses at a fast rate and ended up having to have some poured back into the bottle at the end of the evening. Table was not bussed so several used plates and utensils were spread across the table. Definitely not what we expected for an establishment that we’ve heard great things about
It was OK, nothing fancy. Order was wrong, but I didn’t bring it up.
Amazing view, great food. While the server was very nice, the food came out really slowly and our empty plates sat in front of us for a really long time before being cleared..
great ambiance, but over priced. Dinner for 4 with tip, one bottle of wine $515. two sirloins, one filet, one mahi, brussel sprouts, 2 potatoes, 1 creme brulet. couple drinks. High by even Ny or chicago standards.
Morgan our waiter was terrific.
What a great bday celebration for our son!
Brunch was great. Lotsa vegetarian options. Omelette station chef was on top of it! Dad ate mostly just crab and was very satisfied paying ~$25 for brunch buffet. $2 mimosas!
Nice upscale place. Great ambiance for romantic dinners. The food and service was great. It is quite expensive for the average joe. But it is what I expected walking into an upscale steakhouse.
I didn’t know that we were there during Restaurant Week, and to the server’s credit she attempted to talk us off the “special” menu, we regrettably opted for it and the most overpriced meal I’ve ever had. A view of 6th Ave probably wouldn’t put it on any list of Denver steakhouses not being trapped in the unfortunate Simms area of town.
I had not been to Simm's in about 20 years, back when it was Simm's Landing. We had a small dinner planned for people from out of the country and the suggestion was to come here. I had never thought to go here, to be honest.
Everything about the experience was top shelf. Understandably, this is not a bargain place to dine but there was a reasonable option of three courses for 5280 week. None of us took that option though and ordered from the regular menu. I had the onion soup which was superb. Followed that with the Mahi Mahi which was also superb and a very large portion. I could not finish my meal. Most had steaks, which were cooked to perfection. The biggest hit of the night was the crab cake. I had a small bite of one and it was just top shelf and better than any crab cake I can ever recall. Service was spot on and, of course, the ambience was divine. We had a lovely window table with a beautiful view.
This place will be on my list of great restaurants on a splurge night, especially when friends come to town.
Oh, I forgot to add, it has a fantastic bar area with ample seating to dine there as well. Very impressed with my visit here. Kudos to the chef.
As always, great food and great service. The Cappuccino was excellent and the rib eye is seasoned well and cook perfectly to order.
Jenna is the most amazing server!! Manager also came by twice to make sure we were happy!
Food was terrific. Wide variety of foods. Glasses for drinks were very small. Service was great. Very difficult to get refills on coffee, but wasn't due to the servers lack of effort. He just had too many tables to take care of in his section. Overall, great buffet though. We would go back.
Had to send the steak back twice and it still wasn’t done correctly. Overdone then the fat not even rendered out. Manager on duty was useless and the chef when he came out said “ I can get it right”. I told him he already had two chances at that. Out a call in to the manager of the restaurant who returned my call apologized and sent a $25 gift card in the mail (which I will be sending back to him)
Curtis our waiter was phenomenal! Superb knowledge of wine and the menu.
We were here for Restaurant Week. Both of us had the Ceasar Salad and the Flatiron Steak with Scalloped Potatoes. Generous portions enabled us to have another meal. Very good with a beautiful view. The wine selection was outstanding as well. We'll be back!
Food and service was outstanding!! Our waitress, Stephanie, was one of the best I've ever had!! Very accommodating!! We would have had a great view from our table but, unfortunately, the night we were there a snow storm had blown in, so we didn't get the full view of the city that you would normally see. A little pricey, so the normal person would probably save the experience for a special occasion.
The manager was great, there was a mistake and he compensated for it, that’s what a good restaurant does. The view is fabulous and made for a wonderful 50th anniversary celebration , our party of 6 enjoyed the evening very much.
So good! Loved food and customer service. Steak was like butter and so tasty!
Andy made my husband's birthday very special. The food and view was amazing. We will be going back to try brunch or happy hour next. This is a new favorite.
We have been to Simms many times for brunch to celebrate birthdays and other events. The food and the venue was, as it always is delicious, but the service was awful. We waited for at least 15 minutes to see a waitress and when one arrived she was surly and unapologetic. Our drink orders did not arrive and we had to ask a bus boy to help us. Simms has always been a favorite, but we were very disappointed in the service and will have to think if we return there.
Disappointing - it's been awhile since we had brunch here so decided to try it again. Unfortunately food was cold and tasteless. Spicy Bloody Mary had no flavor-oh we'll need to find a new brunch location that doesn't charge a ridiculous price for low quality food!
Everything was great, except our server. It took her 15 minutes before we even received water and another 10 minutes before we received our drinks and another 10 minutes before she would take our order. This was for an 8:30pm reservation.
We made reservations for our anniversary. When we arrived, we still had to wait. We had to ask a worker walking by if he worked behind the bar in order to get a drink, as the guy behind the bar ignored us. Calamari was cold and chewy. Oysters were good. Steaks were not seasoned well. I order my steak medium and it was red throughout. The best part of the meal was the au-gratin potatoes and the cheesecake. The served was friendly. For an upscale steakhouse, it was just mediocre. We would rank it last compared to other elite steakhouses around town. Disappointing.
Steak under cooked extremely asked for Medium Rare Came out rare rare looked like a piece of tuna light brown outside and pink everywhere else. Was hoping for a good steak and ended up eating a $60 rib eye that needs A-1 sauce. When you but a aged steak the last thing that should be going threw your mind is that steak sauce is needed. I was very very disappointed. Expected a lot more for a $60.00 steak.
We were seated in an extended section of the restaurant and it was quite cool in the area. A woman at the table next to us asked to have them turn the heat up and it seemed to warm only slightly before getting cold again. My wife then asked as well as another table only to have the room stay cold enough for several of us to wear our jackets while we ate. Our server took our initial drink order but never came back to offer us additional drinks and was away for extended periods so we struggled to locate her. We initially ordered their bread and about 15 minutes later when it hadn’t arrived, we asked the server about our bread she she asked if we wanted some, clearly indicating she forgot our order. The food was average and seemed a bit pricey for the serving portion and taste. We’ve had better experiences with Simms in the past and will likely go back but this was not a great experience.
Great dinner and experience
Food was good, but service was terrible! I had heard from friends the service was bad and I thought they were exaggerating. Unfortunately they were right, we had terrible service. It took forever to get our drinks, they eventually came after we finished our appetizers and we had to ask for them. It also took forever to order. Great food though!
Excellent meat. But we ordered medium rare and got rare. I like rare but we were sharing trying different cuts and not everyone likes a blue center.
But we had a good time, the setting is fantastic and the service very friendly
Extremely noisy could not even visit with my girlfriend my steak was not cooked like I ask for service was bad. We have been before and things were much better we both left there wishing we had gone to the chart house for our valentines dinner we were basically sitting with the couple at the next table we were so stacked in there we made reservations for 6:45 arrived 5 minutes early we waited so long to be seated we almost left I wish we would have. Very very disappointing probably will not be back
Wonderful evening thanks to the staff. From valet parking to dessert, it was all high quality service, food &!experience.
First time going to Simms Steakhouse and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are looking for a restaurant to have my son's rehearsal dinner so someone told us to try here. Think we have found our spot! Food was delicious and very large portions. We had calamari to start, Chop salad and soup, then prime rib, salmon and filet mignon for our entrees. Everything was prepared perfectly. The service was excellent as well. Beautiful views from everywhere you sat. Will definitely be back.
Great salad, steak, and wine. Staff was also very accommodating and friendly.
