Silver Fox Steakhouse Frisco Ratings and Reviews
Service was horrible! Waiter forgot our orders, delivered the wrong food, and then two more waiters almost knocked my date down and kept walking without acknowledging our presence or their mistakes.
Staff is sarcastic and rude, dinning area is open and uninvited, food was good, but not reflective of any value.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. After being seated, we waited a very long time with our menus closed on the table before our server finally asked if we were ready to order. She was somewhat apologetic, but I had a hard time understanding why she would attend to the adjacent table three times for every single visit to ours. We had to wait a long time for refills, and our entrees also took a very long time. Our side dish arrived five minutes after our steaks. The steaks were very good, but the service was frustrating. Without our asking, our server told us she would send the manager out, so she knew something was not right. We never saw a manager, but she informed us that the single dessert and one coffee we ordered would be comped. When we got the bill, the dessert and the coffee were not on the bill, but a salad we never ordered was. This was corrected when I pointed it out. From being seated to signing the tab - two hours. Overall, a disappointing evening where we were supposed to be celebrating. Not sure if we'll be back.
Love this place, loved our waiter (he was very informative & attentive), loved the scenery... And most importantly THE FOOD WAS GREAT! My husband and I went on Valentine's Day... We got the couples special (3 course meal - Salad, Filet Mignon, Lobster Tail, Mashed Potatoes, Snap Peas, and a huge Chocolate Cake with 2 chocolate covered strawberries)... I have 2 drawbacks. 1) The couple next to us was soooo it was a little difficult for us to have a romantic evening. 2) The main entree was a tease... The Filet Mignon was the size of a half dollar coin and not very thick, the sides were like a spoon full each. My husband was still hungry and I had to share with him ☹️. The food was so tasty, I wanted to take home leftovers. Our meals was a little over $180 which I felt it was a little overpriced for the amount of food we received.
Everything was very flavorful and our steak was cooked perfect. They deserve 5 stars. Next time we will request a booth for a more private & intimate scene.
Filets were perfect as usual. Wife and I got the worst seat in the place...table right against the front host table. Constant traffic walking within two feet of us and near the kitchen entrance. At one point an older gentleman was standing two feet from me talking lound to his party waiting for their table. For like 3 minutes before I finally had to say something. My first visit that was this bad. Again, food incredible, service awesome...make sure you ask for a table AWAY from the entrance if you want anything even close to romantic. They should remove that table all together!
I would not recommend this restaurant. One glass of wine, not good. Salmon, seasoning they used not good. Snap peas and mashed potato's. Average, this was Valentines Day, limited menu. I suppose that's so they can charge a little more. I will not be returning. Not good.
The food was amazing, as expected. By far, the most pleasurable part of the evening (other than my date) was the waiter. He was prompt, never bothersome and did a fantastic job.
Side note, the table next to us had their dinner prepared and apparently it wasn’t “to their liking”. The waiter, our waiter, solicited the help of a manager. She was kind and overly courteous. She ended up comping the entire meal for the other table. Had their dinners completely remade and they were back in business in under 10 minutes.
When you have dinner at this place, you know going in the food is top notch. I specifically will go back based on the customer service alone.
Very slow service. Had a reservation for my husbands birthday celebration dinner. Waitress not very attentive. Took 20 plus minutes to get drinks at table after each order. Table of seven. Finally got entrees maybe hour and half after seating. Seems all we did was wait for any food to arrive to our table. Big let down for silver fox. My husbands medium steak was over cooked closer to well done. Steaks tasted good but dry. Only my second visit there and afraid we will not be returning as there are too many other fine places to go.
Both my wife and I had the Prime Rib - not sure it could have been more perfect! The service was great - a little glitch with my wife's order was fixed instantly. All the food came out hot and tasted great! Silver Fox is our "go to" place for a nice evening!
Went to Silver Fox for a date night with my wife .. I typically go to iiiForks, however, decided on Silver Fox. The food portions were really small and it was Luke warm at best. I was disappointment with the portion of mash potatoes (very small, like one scoop), steak was not hot. Not worth the money. I will not go back to Silver Fox, but will continue to go to iiiForks.
Silver Fox Prime Steakhouse was not at all what I expected. Had dinner on a Saturday night, it wasn't busy that was a hint that I should have taken, it was the only "Prime" steakhouse I could get into at the last minute. Although not busy service was slow, waitress seemed overwhelmed. Ordered drinks that were delivered by a random person holding the glasses in his hand, no tray. Odd for a "Prime" steakhouse. Ordered a second drink for the table same result. On to the appetizers, tuna poke bowl and heirloom tomato were quite good. Now for the main entrees, Soy Seared Salmon...ok but had way too much soy sauce hard to actually taste the Salmon. Prime Cowboy was the other entree, ordered it medium plus came out cold, sent it back, it came back burnt. The manager came over and apologized and I asked for a 10oz. filet, she said it would take a while but she would "steal" from another order. I said that I was not in a hurry. A filet was rushed out, looked very gray and there were not grill marks which was odd for a steakhouse. I cut a small piece, took a bite and immediately spit it into my napkin. I couldn't figure out why the steak tasted off, then it hit me. That texture could only mean one thing...it was microwaved! A big no no for a reputable "Prime" Steakhouse. I was so disappointed I called the GM and gave feedback on my meal. I also asked if they ever microwave steaks and to my surprise he said yes!! But only if they talk with the customer first. WOW! Overall I can't recommend Silver Fox for a sit down dinner. It was just plain bad on most of the basics you expect from a high end Steakhouse. If you want just a quick happy hour drink before you go to dinner somewhere else, it might be worth it. But steer clear if this place is your first choice.
It's a shame when people that work in the service industry forget the fact that their job is to serve and serve with a good attitude. While we usually enjoy hanging at the bar prior to our meal, this particular visit we left with a less than enjoyable experience. I don't know that I remember seeing a bartender so outwardly put off by us...the customers. When I placed my order, I was careful to be specific. When I saw her pouring the wrong thing I mentioned that I didn't want sweet vermouth to which she replied: "Here we make our dry with vermouth". To which I apologized for the confusion (I shouldn't have had to be the one making the apology but I digress). She insisted that me ordering it dry or up (my exact words) wasn't correct that I should have said "straight up" or "no vermouth". The rest of the night was full of eye rolls and outward expressions of disgust. We frequent nice places like this a lot so I know how to order a drink, and I know how to get along with bartenders who may not understand what it is I'm ordering. Her attitude put a damper on the entire meal and is one of the reasons we will probably steer clear of this place. There are too many good places to eat in North Dallas to have to deal with attitude.
We had a great time with friends. Great food, great service, great friends.
They have a new menu. We had a variety-- steak and scallops, steak and lobster, plain steak, fish. I am very picky about my filet and it was good and no gristle. It was all good. The salads were great as was the soup. We had as deserts - creme brulee, Italian Cake, Chocolate cake, bread pudding and cheese cake. All were good.
Definitely will be back.
I myself did not truly enjoy my experience at this restaurant. I thought the meals were over priced and the food was vary bland. I had the salmon and it was very tasteless if I am being honest. The restaurant was very load and our server seemed to take care of too many tables at one time and was difficult to get his attention. Overall I would rate this at a below average experience for a fine dinning establishment!
I have been to Silver Fox no less than 25 times i would guess this has to be the worst service I ever received . I do give the a little lea way as they had 4 large groups of 20 or more at the same time while we were there which was interesting . While i am sure it was a large bill on all , they were great top be sure imposed at a high percentage because of the size of the groups none the less 2 and 4 deserve to be served as well in a timely manner - Having said that food for thought for the management . Still i will go back
This was one of the most unfortable dinners I have ever had! I confirmed my reservation upon entering the door. The young lady answered the phone and asked me to give her a minute. When she came back, she asked the group that came in behind me if they wanted a booth or table. She came back to seat my guest and I. My guest asked for a booth (4 available), only to be told they were already taken. Again, the next patron was asked if they wanted a seat or a booth. (You see where this is going, right?) The crabcake was mediocre and the tenderloin tip was overpriced and overcooked. The potatoes and snap peas were good. The bread pudding was very dry. Not coming back.
We were dining with friends to celebrate my husband's birthday and our anniversary. We have dined with Silver Fox before and always enjoyed everything about this place! On this night, everything was great except our waiter was rushing us! This was a night we wanted to relax, with cocktails & appetizers first before ordering our meal, wine, etc. As soon as appetizer came he was back asking if we were finished and ready to order. He was very attentive but barely gave us time to look over the menu and was rushing us through dinner. Definitely will go back as we like Silver Fox but hoping our next experience we will not be rushed!
