Silver Fox Steakhouse Frisco Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I love Silver Fox - it is clearly our favorite steak house in the DFW area and has been for many years. On most visits, the service has been above the norm. However, this visit was somewhat disappointing. Our waiter told us he was new and normally, that is not a red flag nor a problem. He seemed a bit flustered and forgetful at times during the dinner. He failed to bring us the traditional tomatoes and onions after our entrée was served. No big deal but maybe he needs a little bit more training on attention to detail.
I absolutely love this place. I have only been here twice in the past and had the two same servers who remembered me from over six months ago!! Grace and Brian are the best!! They even remembered where I sat and what I had. Incredible!! This alone makes me want to visit more often. The food of course is just as stellar. I came for Veterans day and they really made me feel special. The offering was generous and so is this staff. The prime rib was the best I've ever had. Onion rings - - yes don't judge me - - perfect. I had no room for dessert this time but I plan on coming back soon. Thank you my favorite restaurant.
The service was excellent, the food was great, and the server (always ask for Ron's area) was exceptional. It is agreat place to eat in a simi-quiet setting. You can actually carry on a conversation without raising your voice. Rember, alsways ask for Ron's area. If you have never been served by Ron, you will not be disappointed.
Food and service were above average. The Brussel Sprouts were a little tough and we sent those back and manager removed from the bill. Everything else was very good. Not really sure why this place does not do a larger volume of business. Great for conversation and very good service. Definitely will go back again! Bourbon Bread Pudding ala mode was amazing!!
We love Silver Fox. The only thing it's way too dark. No way to see the menu without a flashlight. This is the only complaint I have heard from many people. Please make it a little brighter. Everything else is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating.
It was my mom's 70th birthday and we surprised her by flying her sister in. Upon arrival they had a birthday card waiting on the table signed by each staff member. They were so patient, as my parents were nearly 45 minutes late for our reservation. They even helped us "hide" her sister in the bar until mom got settled at the table. Service and food were both perfect and they were so sweet to my 10 year old son..he ate about 3 loaves of bread while waiting lol. Awesome awesome awesome!
This was our first meal here and when we arrived it seemed to be exactly as expected. Our server, John, was gracious and very helpful and explained the night's special menu very well. Service was prompt and at the right pace. The food was well prepared and to everyone's satisfaction. My medium rare was actually medium rare and delicious. The only thing that changed from the original expectation was the level of noise. By the time we had gotten to the middle of our meal the noise level made normal conversation nearly impossible. So we had a great meal but the primary reason of a pleasant evening of conversation was lost.
First time at the Silver Fox. Food was of excellent quality and very enjoyable. We were there for my wife's birthday, though we kept that to ourselves. My son had a succulent bone-in ribeye, I had a very nice 16 oz prime rib, and my wife had a superb Chilean sea bass. For an appetizer, we enjoyed the best onion rings I've had in just about forever. The warm, fresh bread and the distinctive-tasting pickles were also a nice intro to our meal. We did not order drinks, and dessert was waiting for us at home. Dinner was delicious and service was outstanding. Our waiter, Ron, was polite, knowledgeable, and not overbearing...but always there when needed. Restaurant had a nice feel; good ambiance. Inviting decor. I like the fact that I felt like we were dining in a steakhouse that had an "old school" feel to it. Yet still modern. I thought of great steakhouses from decades past as we settled down to our table. It was a Saturday night, by the way, weekend after Labor Day, and though we made reservations, there would not have been a wait for a table. There was a decent-sized number of diners, but probably a little on the slow side--maybe a little quieter weekend after the Labor Day rush the week before. Nevertheless, still a very good atmosphere--and personally, just enough people there to make it just about right for the three of us.
We had a very large table and were celebrating a birthday. Unfortunately for us it was the last night of restaurant week. As we arrived we gathered in the bar for a pre-dinner cocktail. The young lady behind the bar was uninterested in serving us to the point of being rude. We didn't wish to be seated early which seemed to irritate our waiter who was also less than pleasant the entire evening. So...I'd say if it's restaurant week that's gotten on these employees nerves...please don't participate. And if it's just that you only want to serve the locals, then by golly...only serve the locals. I was embarrassed to have brought a party of 10 to such a place. Thankfully...there are an incredible number of excellent restaurants in the area who are more than pleased to take our money while providing us with a delightful dining experience.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner during Restaurant Week, which is always such a great bargain for a worthy cause. Both of our tenderloins with lobster sauce were cooked to perfection and the steak was very tender and flavorful. This was accompanied by a generous portion of whipped potatoes and sugar snap peas, and the pecan cake was delicious. We had leftovers which we took home and enjoyed the next day.
This was for our anniversary, which I noted on the reservation. There was no acknowledgement of that when we arrived and I didn't bring it to our waiter's attention. As a comparison, last year for our anniversary, we ate at Seasons 52. They had a nice "Happy Anniversary" card on the table and the manager came by to wish us same. Just an extra memorable touch. Certainly didn't ruin the evening but if they ask if it's a special occasion when you make the reservation, they might want to follow up to acknowledge when guests arrive.
Our only complaint was that the restaurant was frightfully cold. Fortunately I had a scarf shawl (but it's August, wouldn't normally have that), and my husband was cold through the entire meal.
