Love this place. I have been here with family and friends. One of my favorite locations.
A special treat to have right in downtown Dover something that transports you to a different era in a fun (not stuffy) way!
Great experience! Loved the tea selections and the "Duchess" tray.
The ambiance, table setting and service were excellent. The most outstanding aspect was the scones. They were delicious!
I had the Chocolate Truffle Tea and The Duchess. I highly recommend.
Fantastic place for a leisurely lunch. Terrific food, huge choice of teas. Wish I lived closer!
A wonderful atmosphere with a delicious menu and great service.
This is a beautiful bed & breakfast that is open to the public for lunch and/or tea...a true Victorian atmosphere with delicious foods and teas...for a special occasion or just for a treat....it is always a pleasure to see Pam (who owns the inn)...cordial and attentive to all details...I highly recommend the Silver Fountain Inn & Tea Parlor.
We throughly enjoy the afternoon. The service, food ambiance was just perfect! We will be back for sure.
The food and room were great, but the place was silent! Some music would have been nice.
Silver tea fountain parlor is fabulous, the food is fantastik, the service is marvelous, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a quiet Victorian atmosphere.
This is complicated. The place represent the results, to date, of an ongoing labor of love by the owners, which one can only admire. The old Victorian building is very interesting, and the dining room interior is breathtaking. The meal offerings seek to model the traditional English "cream tea" (not "high tea," which in England is a substantial meal), and their interpretations of it are creative and, again, labors of love. But -- the food should be considered on its own merits, not, as we are unfortunately doing, in comparison to what we had been experiencing during our recent two months in London and nearby small-town tea shops.
So our "recommendation to a friend" would be, "Yes, go; it's an interesting place to see, but don't be surprised if the experience does not transport you back to the Palm Court in the London Ritz!"
We will not hurry back.
Our waitress was attentive, wonderful and engaging. The Inn and dining area was enchanting and we all had a very enjoyable time. We will definitely be back again!
Lovely elegant luncheon in a Victorian mansion right out of PBS series Bramwell or Dounton Abbey. All the food and tea served on lovely china. Winter solstice tea with delicious sandwiches. Recommend the Duchess for full experience. The Devonshire cream with lemon curb was so delicious on apricot scones. Very special treat.
It was a celebration for our Mother. She was very happy with everything. We had a vegan/GF guest and they happily accommodated her needs. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
A great place for a wonderful peace filled atmosphere. Food is always delicious.
Overall nice. Tea was great. Soup and scone was good. But the sweets were very dry, almost stale. Wouldn’t order the chandelier again because if that.
Great place for high tea, amazing service and ambiance
My friend and I went not knowing what to expect and were very surprised and pleased with the whole experience.
I really enjoyed the range of flavors that they offered. I ordered the Duchess and I did not have a bit of food that I did not like. The flavor combos of the sandwiches were amazing. The dessert just the sweet spot without being too sweet. I definitely plan on going again! And I am getting even more excited to get married there come September!
Loved this quaint little tea parlor. Can't wait to go back.
Wonderful place to celebrate any occasion! So many tea options and a menu that changes monthly, it’s a must visit!
Extremely elegant setting. Tea selection and service are superb.
A lovely treat for my 11 year old who dressed up and absolutely adored the tea parlor. Individual teapots, scrummy bites, beautiful tables, quiet with nice music. Service impeccable.
Always a delicious experience! The February menu was so amazing it was hard to choose what to sample first. The service was excellent as usual and the china lovely.
I took my husband here for his birthday and invited our closest friends for an afternoon tea. It was exactly what we were looking for and all six of us quite enjoyed ourselves. There was a fabulous loose leaf tea selection, and the food was fresh and tasted good.
We enjoyed our room (we stayed in The Duke) and would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely wonderful way to spend a quiet afternoon.
A little too much bread for me. The sandwiches could have been quartered and add some fruit, veggies or pickles. The waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed but was very pleasant. Never introduced herself. Very enjoyable, tea was delicious. Scones and spreads were scrumptious.
I love coming to the Silver Fountain Inn & Tea Parlor because this is the only way in all of Dover, Rochester, and Portsmouth whereby I can enjoy a quiet eating experience. The server is very respectful of keeping her voice down and other patrons are mindful of tea room ediquette. The food is superb! This is the only place I will take my hard-earned money and go out to eat! The food is important but the atmosphere is just a important the Tea Parlor meets both of those items which are important to me!
We had a wonderful experience. This would be the perfect place to bring my mother for lunch and tea.
I went during the week day. The inn is beautifully decorated in mid 1800s furnishings. The service was friendly, the food was very good with many selections for lunch. The ambience was perfect for a relaxing afternoon tea and lunch.
We enjoyed the Duchess Tea and loved everything. If you order it, go hungry! We brought a lot of food home for later.
Wonderful place for lunch or afternoon tea. My granddaughter and I go whenever she is home from college.
I am very fortunate that I have been able to introduce the gem to many people.
Lovely establishment. Great service, beautiful ambiance.
Meal was yummy. Tea was weak and watered down. Small dining area with not too much space. Harp music was beautiful and added to the charm of the dining experience but was loud and made it had to have a conversation. Meal was interrupted by having to move our car for some tree service. Another table had to move their car a few times while we were there.
Lovely place to spend with friends-yummy food and many loose tea choices-will go back!!!
Excellent! My favorite lunch spot! My seven friends and I go every month. The menu changes every month.
We went for the Christmas tea. The atmosphere was wonderful there was even a violinist playing while we ate. The variety of teas was tremendous and each one that we chose was delicious as was the food.
We had a lovely time. Cozy, relaxing and quiet tea time.
