Absolutely wonderful way to spend a quiet afternoon.
A little too much bread for me. The sandwiches could have been quartered and add some fruit, veggies or pickles. The waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed but was very pleasant. Never introduced herself. Very enjoyable, tea was delicious. Scones and spreads were scrumptious.
I love coming to the Silver Fountain Inn & Tea Parlor because this is the only way in all of Dover, Rochester, and Portsmouth whereby I can enjoy a quiet eating experience. The server is very respectful of keeping her voice down and other patrons are mindful of tea room ediquette. The food is superb! This is the only place I will take my hard-earned money and go out to eat! The food is important but the atmosphere is just a important the Tea Parlor meets both of those items which are important to me!
We had a wonderful experience. This would be the perfect place to bring my mother for lunch and tea.
I went during the week day. The inn is beautifully decorated in mid 1800s furnishings. The service was friendly, the food was very good with many selections for lunch. The ambience was perfect for a relaxing afternoon tea and lunch.
We enjoyed the Duchess Tea and loved everything. If you order it, go hungry! We brought a lot of food home for later.
Wonderful place for lunch or afternoon tea. My granddaughter and I go whenever she is home from college.
I am very fortunate that I have been able to introduce the gem to many people.
Lovely establishment. Great service, beautiful ambiance.
Meal was yummy. Tea was weak and watered down. Small dining area with not too much space. Harp music was beautiful and added to the charm of the dining experience but was loud and made it had to have a conversation. Meal was interrupted by having to move our car for some tree service. Another table had to move their car a few times while we were there.
Lovely place to spend with friends-yummy food and many loose tea choices-will go back!!!
Excellent! My favorite lunch spot! My seven friends and I go every month. The menu changes every month.
We went for the Christmas tea. The atmosphere was wonderful there was even a violinist playing while we ate. The variety of teas was tremendous and each one that we chose was delicious as was the food.
We had a lovely time. Cozy, relaxing and quiet tea time.
My friend and I stumbled upon this place and loved it! We really enjoyed the tea and food. It was a bit pricey, but worth it.
Service and ambience outstanding had a great time, a place from another era
Meh. Great atmosphere. Food disappointing for the high price point. OK for a special occasion. A one shot deal; won’t return.
We celebrated my mother's 81st birthday with her kids and grandkids. We had such a lovely time and will cherish the memories!
Fabulous tea room! Excellent food. Excellent service, and they are willing to adjust their offerings for individual dietary issues if you give them advance notice. Beautiful dining room and lovely old house.
This is a wonderful place for an afternoon tea and conversation. I highly recommend it for a special outing and for anyone who want a place that is quiet but still fun and with people who enjoy tea and know how to serve it.
Thank you for a great tea. I took my sister here for her birthday and it was perfect.
This was my first time here. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Loved the ambiance. Which entry to use was confusing. Food was delicious. Did not feel rushed. Very nice
This is an experience you can't find many other places. Every detail of a Victorian parlor seems to be covered and beautifully so. The food is very good and the service excellent, the presentation something not to be missed if you'd like a step back into a different place and time. I've been twice now and plan to go periodically for the sheer pleasure of it
The inn is so quaint and elegant. Have been there several times and will be back again. I love it there!
When my two friends and I came in there was no one there to greet us; we were a bit early for our 2 Pm reservation so we went into the sitting room and still no one came to greet us; finally I had to ask someone if we could be seated and we were, promptly; everything else was wonderful including the lovely lady who served us, but it was a bit disconcerting to not be greeted. I have been twice before and each time someone did greet us so I assume this was just a fluke.
This place is a genuine, authentic high-tea room. Everything fits, from the ambiance, to the Inn itself. My favorite place to take friends for a wonderful experience.
Took best reindeer for lunch and was extremely pleased. Good ambiance, good food, good time! Will definitely be returning!
If you have been looking for a wonderful afternoon tea place then THIS is it. Wonderful ambiance, huge selection of delicious teas, lovely sandwiches, tasty scones, marvelous miniature desserts. Everything done to perfection. Teas are also available to take home, and plenty of tea supplies available. Entire house has been lovingly restored, and the staff will gladly give you a history of the house if asked.
We stayed at the inn and booked an afternoon tea. It was a lot of fun!
Cozy and quiet, great for an afternoon date. Definitely worth a trip to!
While on holiday in New Hampshire, we thought it would be fun to go for afternoon tea. We were staying in Meredith and Googled "English tearoom in NH". This tearoom was over an hour away but that was no deterrent! We easily made a reservation for the next day and had a DELICIOUS tea. We ordered The Duchess (3-tiered server). We have been to several tearooms over the years, in Ohio and New England. The offerings at this establishment were the freshest and were definitely the most home baked goodness we have ever tasted. The hostess/owner was very friendly and welcoming. Recommend you consider making a reservation for this tearoom. You won't regret it. We will definitely be going back!
If you want to experience afternoon tea, this is the place! All of the sandwiches were tasty and the treats were divine. The scones outstanding.
Beautiful setting, mouth watering food, and friendly service.
We brought our granddaughter from California for a tea party and she was thrilled. She ordered the "Dutchess" and it was beautiful and so delicious. Fancy Sandwiches, Scones with Clotted Cream and Lemon Curd that were amazing!! And tiny sweets on the top that were pretty and so yummy. There are so many choices for tea...my favorite was the Winter Pine but everyone else swooned over the Blackberry Maple! Fancy table and teacups, individual teapots and lots of choices for both food and beverages. Easy to get to and free parking in the back. What a wonderful place to spend an elegant afternoon or special occasion! Be sure to check out their special events too...they have special teas and classes!
I took my daughter and granddaughter to celebrate her 10th birthday. The selection of teas was interesting and varied and the food was very good and plentiful. We spent a lovely afternoon feeling like royalty. Thank you.
I brought two of my daughters and 3 granddaughters to an afternoon tea. The ambiance was fabulous in this lovely Victorian Inn. We each had our own pot of tea from a multitude of choices, which we had with spring salad, tea sandwiches, quiche, and fabulous scones topped off by sampling wonderful petit desserts. We took pictures out front by the fountain and on the garden swing. A great find for a fun afternoon.
What a quaint location!! The ambiance was grandeur. The attention to detail !
What a wonderful luncheon was had by all of my family.
Thank you for such a special day!!
Our meals were delicious - including gluten-free items! They do not specifically list GF options on their menu, but you just have to ask. I had a fresh salad with grilled chicken and GF dressing, a very moist GF scone, and sampled the GF chocolate cake. My friend had a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant, which came with a side salad, and she enjoyed the rest of the GF chocolate cake. They offer a huge assortment of teas. We chose the ginger peach tea. I highly recommend it!
I had asked, online,to have a card on the table wishing g my friend a happy birthday with her name on it and it was not done.
I love this place ever since I found it last year. The food is delicious and the service is great. There were many kinds of tea to choose from, and it's all served in old china with old silverware. The place is beautifully decorated in a Victorian style. I have been there several times since, and I can't wait to go again.
I really loved the elegance of the place and the atmosphere. It was a little confusing when you come in the side door as to where you were supposed to wait. Otherwise, it was wonderful.
Such a special time with a dear friend . The food was wonderful and thae atmosphere was just lovely . I will be back soon
