Silver Dove Afternoon Tea is a full service tearoom in Downtown Boston specializing in English style afternoon tea service. Steps from Government Center and the Freedom Trail, an experience at Silver Dove includes a pot of tea and a curated selection of finger foods. The food is a set menu and fixed price consisting of a variety of finger sandwiches, savory canapés, cakes, scones, macarons and other pastries which rotate seasonally.

We offer 90 minute reservations for afternoon tea Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are available up to six weeks in advance. We can accommodate parties of up to six guests on weekends, and parties of up to twelve guests Wednesday through Friday.

We serve a wide selection of teas and herbal infusions from around the world and of various styles. We also provide a selection of craft cocktails and mocktails, as well as sparkling and still wines.

Our kitchen is completely gluten free (and oat free). We are independently owned and operated.

                          Silver Dove was a perfect place to celebrate a recent graduation. It was beautiful, the service was lovely and thoughtful, and the food and tea were amazing. We had three people with Celiac, and it felt like such a treat to be able to eat all of the delicious and fancy food. The highlights were the tea service itself, with the little individual pots of tea (with free refills of hot water to make the joy of it all last), the scones, the cucumber finger sandwich and the Brie and bacon sandwich, and the rhubarb dessert. We definitely plan to come back for special occasions, and will recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun, celiac friendly experience in Boston.

                          Had such a beautiful afternoon here with my Mom - made even more special thanks to the wonderful hostess who truly went above and beyond. She was kind, thoughtful, and an absolute angel throughout our visit. The food was delicious, the ambiance charming, and the service genuinely made us feel welcome and cared for. It's rare to come across hospitality that feels this personal and sincere. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to create a lovely memory with loved ones.

                          This was a wonderful experience! The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. This was our first experience having High Tea and I cannot wait to return. The food was absolutely delicious, every bite!!!

                          I had been curious about Silver Dove because their menu is unique compared to typical afternoon teas. I really liked all of the savory items, and our server was really kind about adapting to my dietary preferences! The sweet items left more to be desired - the macaron was too sweet and a little artificial tasting. I enjoyed my oolong tea!

                          A friend suggested we all try it, and it was a pleasant surprise. Quite "high tea," as I imagine it. The staff, all helpful and friendly, are serious tea people: the menu has about 25 different varieties and they're happy to describe and talk about any of them. In addition to tea the menu includes delicious little scones, a variety of interesting finger sandwiches, and several equally interesting desserts. Their menu changes about four times a year. The room is very small, seats only 24, and I expected it to be quieter than it was (though not noisy.) One not unappealing little quirk -- they tell you your reservation is for not more than 90 minutes. Though it seemed a bit on the expensive side, it was a delightful way for the four of us to spend part of a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended.

                          This was my second time here and I still feel like the service could be better. It’s really cute and my girls enjoyed it but when I compare it to the Copley library and Rowes Wharf Sea grille, I feel they have more of variety.

                          Beautiful presentation of delicious treats. Was able to meet my spouses dietary restrictions efficiently and effectively. And the selection of high end teas was excellent.

                          Amazing experience, cannot recommend enough! Everything was completely gluten free, which was great for me as I’m celiac. The service was amazing, the quality of the drinks and food was amazing, and the place itself was beautiful. Highly HIGHLY recommend!

                          It was fantastic. I love that it is all gluten free and one of the people in my party has celiac; and I love that they have a vegan option. They have a great selection of teas and great cocktails. The food was delicious and quite filling. I will definitely go back!
