My family enjoyed our dinner at the BBQ sampling. Mac & cheese was amazing! Everything tasted good and there was plenty of food. Daughter loved the desserts so much she had one of each. Ladies who served and waited on us were all very friendly, helpful and kind. Atmosphere was perfect in providing a nice family dinner for us.
Food was very disappointing for the price. Staff was moving around tables and chairs the whole time we were there. We'll not easy there again.
Decent food, but definitely not homemade, which is the impression they give. It was a fun experience & there was friendly service, but a bit expensive for what is provided. They should come down about $10 on the price per person because it's obviously not worth $22 per person. This buffet definitely caused buyers remorse.
Great selection of food. We were here for Mother's Day Brunch. We had a wonderful time. The servers were so nice. Enjoyed everything about our visit.
We were disappointed in the BBQ sampling event. The food at the event was not nearly as good as we expected it to be. The chicken was very dry and the ribs were tough. The pulled pork was greasy. The brisket and the sides were good. Our service was minimal, no checking for refills, etc. We attend many events at Silver Dollar City. We would not attend another sampling event based on the quality of food at this one.
It was a rainy day so only 3 of the party showed up and we were able to attend the buffet early. However, the food was disappointing for the price. Most of the food on the buffet was cold and seems to sitting there a while.
The food was good, not worth the price. Nothing indicates the price of the food until you go to the checkout. The server was excellent however one of the ladies bringing the food out was kind of rude.
Just wasn't our thing. The selections of food was not to our taste. Great atmosphere and exceptional service by our server.
I enjoyed this! If you are looking for a "Golden Corral" type buffet, this is probably not for you. But, if you are like me and have always wanted to try as many of the new Silver Dollar City foods as possible, it is great! I went late in the day, and there was one item that had run out, but there were other items available that weren't listed on the menu, so it was not a problem for me. It is served buffet style and you can eat as much as you want.
I would definitely not recommend this sampling event. The food was prepared in a buffet style manner and was not even close to fresh. We could tell that most items would have been good if served fresh but had been sitting under warmers for quite some time. This was a huge disappointment and was very overpriced for the quality that was given.
Our family thoroughly enjoys SDC, but the food at this sampling event was not good. I was able to eat my salad and enjoy that, but that is about the extent of it. I feel that our money would have been better spent just eating at one of the stands in the park. I will not spend any more money on sampling events at SDC, and I will tell my friends and family to avoid it as well. The price was just way too high for the quality of food. Typically, I really enjoy the food at SDC, and this experience will not stop us from further enjoying the theme park!
The food wasn't really suited for a Buffet. I'm sure it would have been better cooked and served as soon as it was ready. I did enjoy sampling the shark steak and alligator, had I liked them, they were alright from the buffet. They ran out of the only thing my grandkids liked. I had only allowed them one small serving to try and see what they liked and told them they could go back for more of what they liked. so they ended up at the desserts without really having a meal. I spent more than I usually do thinking it would be a treat but was disappointed.
On the web site there was no location or cost mentioned. Had hard time finding the location.
The Service was great; food was good; ran out of something, but very professional all the same.
Great idea! Looking forward to the next festival sampling..
My server kept bringing me root beer instead of coke but it's ok. She kept glasses filled and everyone had a great time.
If you are coming to this festival you must take advantage of this dining option to try all the creative foods here. Pleasantly surprised. Don't let the reservation line deter you as many people don't show up. This was awesome!
Not good for $21 a person. I would rather eat at a Golden Corral buffet. The food was marginal and expensive, but what should I have expected from a theme park? Overpriced and underwhelming. Never again.
It was not wow... but the service was great. Sdc is hardly ever sub par... the wow food table was a disappointment.
I was very disappointed in the food and it advertised that there would be crawfish at the tasting... there was not any on the Buffett. I didn't feel that the food was worth the price. The only thing that was great was the key lime cupcakes.
Was horribly disappointed. This was the first time in 25 years that have been let down by SDC. The food was far below standards, nor did it match what had been advertised online. The whole reason for paying 21 dollars a person was to sample the cusines brought in for the festival, only a few things were actually on the buffet. Most of which was disgusting, everyone in our party left fighting waves of nausea. All in all we felt ripped off with the whole experience.
The salads and grilled cheese sandwiches were really good, but everything else was pretty much a disappointment. The "hot" entrees were lukewarm and/or bland, and the cupcakes were dry. The online description had us all thinking the $22/ person might just be worth it, but we all agreed it would have made a lot more sense at $15/person. That said, we will avoid SDC's sampling events in the future. They don't seem to know how to price it appropriately or how to pull it off successfully.
Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I imagine it would have been good if it were fresh or hot but there was not ONE THING that was hot or fresh. Everything was cool in nature. My husband I were both worried that we would get sick. If you have kids that are picky eaters, DO NOT come here for this "buffet" unless they like cold hamburger wrapped hot dogs, cold alligator or frog legs, and desserts cut in quarters. Truly the best part was probably the salad. We would have gotten up and left had we not committed ourselves to a $50 dinner. Save your money...eat elsewhere!!!
Did not have all the foods listed. Most was cold, or lukewarm.
Didn't offer everything that was supposed to be offered. Food was not hot....lukewarm at best.
We booked this meal for the sampling event as part of the festival. Once we got inside, we were very disappointed of the quality of food. The majority of "hot" food was not hot, and it reminded us of a normal salad bar menu, that was just spruced up. Definitely not worth the 21.00 price tag. Would not recommend this. Would not attend again. The food throughout the park was much better quality and was hot.
