Silver - Cathedral Commons
I am in love with the salmon wasabi sliders! I've shared them as an appetizer but also make them my own entrée. Perfect every time!
Absolutely horrible experience!!!!! They are unable to accommodate food allergies after saying they could. Also a huge disconnect between manager, waitstaff and kitchen. Do not go to Silver! Great location so a real shame.
We went for Sunday brunch. Loved the overall ambiance of Silver. The menu is fairly original, fresh, and healthy, but did not quite meet the very high expectations it set - food was very good, but not superlative. Our server was very attentive (until it came time for the check). I’d definitely give it another try!
The food is delicious, service was fast and great. My daughter and husband loved the flexitarian option
Great server. Lots to catch up on and no rush!
Really fun fare—especially avocado toast and tuna and quinoa bowl!
Good food, excellent service, and right in the neighborhood. What more could we ask?
Went for brunch! Great food, good service. Definitely worth a trip!
Food was very good and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely go back.
Silver is a good place to go. Though we’ve not been frequent customers, we’ve eaten there 3 or 4 times and have not been disappointed.
The service was very nice but I found the food to be thoroughly mediocre. My avocado toast was more accurately described as cheap guacamole toast and the chocolate egg cream was watery. Underwhelmed.
Love their take on farm-to-table! I normally order the buffalo huevos rancheros, this time I went with the roasted vegetables huevos rancheros. I was not disappointed at all! A delightful meal as I have come to expect.
The food was standard and not very innovative for the price. Service was slow.
Great experience here last Saturday night. Full disclosure---dinner and 1 drink each cost $90.00 for my wife and I, but that is not uncommon here in the metro area. Food comes out fast and hot---great mix of the main entree and vegetables. Server was super friendly. Beer selection was limited, and they were out of one of the listed brands, but that also is not uncommon. The wine was great. Great mix of people at dinner: couples, a few out on dates, a teen birthday group, singles, and people with little kids. It's a full restaurant so moving around is tight and noise levels are moderate when packed. Close proximity to National Cathedral. They validate parking in the Giant garage. Overall, we'd eat there again. Enjoy.
Neighborhood place with great food.
Servers were polite, helpful, and friendly. Food was suprisingly good.
A good neighborhood place for lunch or dinner. Need to remind the waitstaff of what you wanted with your order. Some are forgetful.
Been here before with family. Not a good experience. Figured I'd try again for business lunch. Service was good but food was bland & uninspiring. Had large cobb salad, but was not arranged as a cobb salad. Lettuce looked wilted. Dressing was rather tasteless.
Very good, standard American fare. I loved the lemon chicken piccata. Especially like a 600-calorie menu section
Kale salad very good but short rib for $24 was small and not very tasty. Service was okay. Setting is great but music is annoying. At 6 on a Sunday seems more like a family restaurant.
The noise level is HIGH beca, use the music is played HIGH. I sat next to the front window and I could feel cool air coming from above. Two of us had omelets and one had a lamb gyro. But the food did not come out for an hour and the omelets were of medium heat. Were they sitting for a while under those heated lights in front of the cooks?
Great menu choices. Friendly staff. Great neighborhood spot without being too trendy.
Certain things on the menu are very good - Huevos, burgers, coffee- others just go hum - fries, desserts, meatloaf, steak, pot pie... that said, it’s a lovely looking place and the service is excellent.
We love Silver! Food and service are fantastic! The personnel is very friendly and kind!
Stopped in on the way to a service at the cathedral. My friend had Scallops which she said were great and I enjoyed my burger. Waited a bit for the waiter but once he got started we had smooth sailing. It’s a bit noisy but overall very good.
I was in the mood for something different and quite enjoyed the Tuscan Burrata Bowl - my dining companions who tasted it gave a thumbs up. In return, I got to taste the Chicken Pot Pie (deconstructed) which was very good and the Short Ribs, also good. Crème Brûlée with blackberries was a very nice finish to the meal.
We celebrated our friend's birthday over brunch. Our server, Cassandra, was particularly outstanding and made a fuss over him. The food was great, but she's the best!
THE WAITRESS WAS SUPERB AS WAS THE HOSTESS-WE WERE IN A JAM AND SHE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND IN ASSISTING US UBER ACCESS BACK TO THE CATHEDRAL AS IT WAS RAINING CATS AND DOGS ALL DAY--TRULY DELIGHTFUL AND THE COFFEE AND PISTACHIO MOUSE BROWNIE FOR DESSERT WERE DELIC<3
Enjoyed the meal here after Messiah performance at National Cathedral. Its a pretty quick walk (even in the cold) from there. It was a nice place to go after the performance and its great they they donate 10% of the meal to the cathedral. The food is good, nicely presented and the service (Gregory) was outstanding. I had the chicken pot pie and the tomato basil soup -both of which were very good and not salted to death. All pluses except of course for the totally useless background music. Any conversation was with raised voice. Not as bad as other places but unnecessary. Will return.
Tables are too close together, so hard to have a private conversation.
I was there on a Friday night late. They had their late night menu out but I had looked at dinner menu online and had my mind set on chicken pot pie, which is not on late night menu. They were nice enough to cook one for me. It was good and they used big chunks of white chicken, I did add salt and pepper as I thought it was a little bland. Nice texture and variety of vegetables . Thought 19.00 was expensive for pot pie though.
Food is very tasty and the wait staff is always friendly and helpful
My first visit and overall a very good experience. We were short on time pre-performance. Our server was great! Made sure we got our food on time. Pickle brined chix sandwich was great. Like a fried pickle with chicken, but it was only chicken. :) Very moist, well cooked and tasty. A bit noisy but overall very good experience. Will be back.
Creative menu items, friendly staff, quality locally sourced food
We had an event to go to and only 45min to make it on time. I told the waiter and he was very helpful and accommodating for us to eat, drink, pay and get out on time. The food was pretty good but I would probably order something else next time we go. I do plan to go back again. Thanks Again:-)
Silver is a nice place for a quick meal. Think of it as an elevated Silver Diner. Good food at reasonable prices. Great service.
Great place for brunch if you are old school -- looking for great bacon & eggs. Pleasant staff , good service, menu with something for everyone, and great price.
Great place for any occasion.
We're regulars, and brunch this week was yummy. He loves the farmhouse breakfast, I love the avocado toast with salmon, we both love the fresh squeezed orange juice. Cheerful, efficient service makes the whole experience fun and comfortable.
Have made multiple trips to Silver for lunch, both inside and out, and it has never disappointed. Interesting cuisine, friendly service and a low noise level contribute to a fun lunch.
