Silos' Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It was a wonderful dinner; we were there with family and friends to attend Bentleyville which is right next door. We had front row seating to canal park when it all lit up. It was great. The food was wonderful and plenty of choices. I had the pork chop which was Delicious
We thought we had reservations for a Thanksgiving buffet but were told by the hostess that it ended an hour earlier. Still, they held open the buffet for us and gave us excellent seating. The staff went above and beyond...especially Megan, and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Thanks, Silos!
GUYS! you need to try this place. the chefs are amazing.
we went there for thanksgiving dinner, got there right away at 11. all the food looked so amazing and tasted so delicious. especially being away from home on thxgiving for some of us, it was a such a nice surprise! everything down to the fruit salad was delicious and had such flavorful taste! the desserts of cheesecake -- YUM. i can't say enough good things about this buffet and place. thank you for making thxgiving so fun!!
They seam to be a very new restaurant. The salmon, cheese & cracker platter was excellent as was the quinoa tabouli salad. The white bean chicken chili was only broth and we were disappointed that they did not have the Elk/Bison Burger that was on the menu. It was our main reason for choosing this restaurant ☹️
Promptly seated in more private area as requested. Nice Lake view. Ribeye with mushrooms tasty .Halibut well prepared but overshadowed by cheese sauce . Great service from Tommy. Anxious to try other menu options. Very nice and tasty dessert options. We will return .
First time here, came out for our one year wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was nice, very relaxing and laid back but felt like a nice formal restaurant without feeling under dressed. I had made reservations online which was super fast and easy to do. They even emailed me a few days before my reservation as a reminder. When we arrived Tegan helped us to a table right away. Got as an amazing booth with a beautiful view of the lake. Kimberly our server was very sweet and kind to answer all out questions. She did a great job making sure our drinks were full and we were happy. We were surprised to find we got a free bread sampler. When the bread you start off with is that amazing you know the meal itself has to be spectacular and it was. I had the amazing 1881 sirloin. So juicy and cooked perfectly. My husband has the pork chop. After our meal we were glad they let us go to the patio to take pictures. An anniversary and a meal I won't forget.
Silos Restaurant is good for both lunch and dinner! At lunch it is a quiet place to eat while overlooking the beautiful Duluth harbor. The food choice is good - I loved the shrimp poboy.
The dinner menu is even better. So many great choices. I had lamb chops which were the best I ever had! And the wait staff is friendly and accommodating.
For any meal any time it's a great place.
We were in the restaurant on a Sunday evening. There were a lot of open tables. I don't think our server even had another table. He was very slow in getting to us and very slow in bring our drink orders. He apologized but I'm not sure if he forgot us or what. While we loved the food and ambiance, the service was terrible. I do have to say we would try the restaurant again and hope for a different server.
I ate with a friend and both ordered the bison and elk burger prepared medium. The burger was quite well done but still was edible. The condiments and sides available were
fair. We both expected more for a $17 burger in Duluth. Service was fast as we were headed to a bulldogs game, our waitress never even mentioned the specials to us at all.
If we eat at Silos again we’ll try the entrees instead, if those are only fair, we won’t go back.
This was our first visit to Silos and we were very impressed with the food selection and overall service. We ate at Silos several times during our visit as we wanted to try everything we could. Highly recommend the Pork Wings with the dry rub. Also recommend the Portobello "steak" as this was the first time I ever had Portobello as a meal and it was awesome. Everything was cooked to perfection.
The ambiance and view of the lake/harbor is awesome. We are already planning our next visit.
Give it a try and you will enjoy your visit.
My spouse and I dined late on a Friday evening. The restaurant was not packed but there were many people enjoying themselves. As an appetizer, my spouse's salad was large enough to share and it (a Caesar salad) was very good. I ordered the smoked salmon appetizer, which came with 3-4 different cheeses, and it was terrific. My spouse had a halibut special for an entree and it was very good, although the amount of risotto that came with the dish was far too much for even two of us to eat. I had an ahi dish that was excellent, although I would have preferred that the ahi had been a bit more rare; a couscous that accompanied the ahi was great. This place apparently is fairly new but the service was great; our server, Kim, was fantastic.
We had never been to silos before and we also live in Duluth. We thought the overall look was great and the deck overlooked bay front park and the lift bridge. I had a bacon cheese burger and fries and my boyfriend had steak. My burger was great and the fries were cooked well. My boyfriend’s dinner was different. The steak was hard to cut and under seasoned and he had mentioned it was tough to chew. The purple potatoes were a nice touch however they were under done and he said they didn’t have much taste or flavor to them. He didn’t care much for the side of veggies either. And the presentation was lacking. Overall, it was new place to go and hopefully we will be back to try it again.
It was a beautiful night so we sat out on the patio. Soon everyone else had finished their meal an we were the only ones on the patio. I enjoyed my Halibut while my husband enjoyed his steak The waitress was great. When she found out it was our anniversary she gave a free dessert!!
So much potential here, but hate to say - service was awful. It felt like our server was never to be seen - not sure where he was the whole time.
Food was good, maybe above average but not worth the price for the steaks.
Lovely ambiance. If you are staying at Pier B, it is a good choice - variety on the menu and full bar.
Food was good to very good. Unparalleled view. Table service was fantastic... friendly and efficient. Host didn't make use feel welcomed at all, felt like we were disturbing them. No recognition at all of celebrating a birthday, as noted on reservation. Would go back, but...
We made a reservation 2 months in advance as we were staying at the Pier B resort. When we arrived there were no tables in the dining room, only the bar area. They had the reservation but didn't "hold" a table. This happens frequently when we book on Open Table. We left without eating.
Loud music inside that was not very friendly for dining, 1 of the 2 drinks were not made correctly. Your calamari was very good ! I ordered the scallops which were good and my partner ordered the rib eye which had very good flavor and was cooked as ordered. I have to say the sides were not, the fingerling potatoes as well as the squash were all different sizes so hence some were done and some were not and some were overcooked. For the price you should also get a salad, just saying...... We will give you another try maybe for happy hour and have the calamari again and see if you were just having an off night
The food was good but wasn't hot off the grill. I like the food hot and the french fries right out of the oil. It seemed like the food had sat out for a bit before it got to my table. Improving the delivery time would be something to work on. Other than that, the restaurant was nice.
7 adults for a family reunion lunch. Outdoor patio view table (great new waterfront location). Unfortunately, the operation is apparently lacking effective management. While there were plenty of servers on duty, they seemed disorganized and a bit stressed. It took forever to place our orders, and even longer before our food came to the table (including an undercooked hamburger). Silos has excellent potential and I wish for success, but we'll not return there'should reliable word they've got their act together.
We had a great experience, the food was good and the waitstaff was fantastic. The only issue was with reservations. We tried to get a 7:00 then a 6:30 but they were all booked - we settled for 5:30 and adjusted our plans. The frustration is that there were plenty of open tables at 6:30 and 7:00 (approx 5 open at 7:15 when we left).
Also, it would be fantastic if there was one or two low carb options.
