We only live 5 min away and sadly this was our first time at Silos since it’s opened.
My husband and I booked through open table day after Valentine’s Day.
Got right in, served very well, tasty options, unique menu, wide variety of selections and great atmosphere.
10/10 would recommend
Entire family found something to eat and enjoyed the view!
Great food and selections of drinks.
Great food, service, and ambiance! Had a great evening.
We (4 adults) arrived at 1030 and were told, by the hostess, it was a brunch buffet only on Saturday. We were seated, offered drinks and eventually went to the buffet. Of course not all food fit onto our plates, so some of us decided to go back later and get fruit/pastries etc. The serving trays were full of food when we went through. To our utter dismay when we went back the buffet had been closed down and all food put away. Not one person from the hostess to server every mentioned to us that the buffet would be closing at a certain time. If we had known we certainly would have gotten our food all at one time. When we mentioned it to the server, she blamed the hostess for not telling us. We only had half breakfasts and were definitely not satisfied. We did express our dissatisfaction. Our Server did eventually say they could "throw" some stuff like bacon together if we wanted. How utterly unappealing....."throw" together.
I have been to the Silos 3 times since November ( one dinner, two breakfasts) and each time, have had the same server by the name of Chantel. She is not an asset for your restaurant. With each visit several people complained about her attitude, lack of enthusiasm, and lack of seeming to even want to make the costumer happy.
A very disappointing visit to a place that has such a wonderful atmosphere and surroundings.
Ribeye was good. My wife had the stuffed walleye but said there was no flavor...
One of the best places in Duluth- love the option of wild rice burgers now. Vegetarian menu has expanded and looks amazing. Burgers are wood fired, puts any other gas cooked burger to shame. Cheese curds and the raspberry jalepeno sauce are amazing. Our server Elizabeth was top notch too. Beautiful setting!
We’ve gone to Silos each of the last three years for a hockey game. Silos is awesome. Great food. Great service. Awesome experience.
Our server Elizabeth was outstanding! She was attentive and had great suggestions on food items.
The planked salmon with wild rice was so delicious and well prepared. It was hot when served and not too salty-my biggest complaint about restaurant meals. My husband loved the steak and said it was perfect!
Four of us dined at silos on Christmas Day .5pm.
If you are looking for fine dining this is not your restaurant
One prime rib dinner was good the second was cold even the potatoes, the filet steak (ordered medium rare) came black as a hockey puck ( sent back).
Salmon meal ok but just warm.
Waitress was annoyed at the start because we did not want to order our dinner same time as our appetizer ( messy calamari) and cocktails. She did not know a lot and it was obvious. Don’t know who supervises the kitchen but not a professional and the training of staff is certainly questionable.
Not our first time there but definitely our last. Nite: most people around us ordered hamburgers.
The kids at the adjoining booth were unsupervised by their parents and yelled and banged their utensils on the bowls, I assume they were there to look at the lights of bentleyville, which was an added bonus.
Next time it’s Blackwoods, much more civilized and the staff is appreciative that you are there.
We arrived 30 minutes early for our 730PM reservation to have drinks. The bartender had an attitude right away, we ordered several drinks, several Old Fashion's and they were all made wrong in one way or another. Then we had to ask 3 times for our table which we finally sat down to at 8PM, 30 minutes later than our reservation time. Our waitress arrived to our table and immediately proceeded to tell us about everything that they were out of, which was just about everything. She wouldn't come back to take our order and instead served another table their bar drinks and took their food order before our table and that order table arrive 5 minutes after we sat down to our table. We asked another server to if they could do something and they went and found her and then she came over to take our order, the young waitress started talking back and making excuses. Finally our food arrived, 6 of the 8 plates were cold. Three $34/ea. Rib-eye plates looked like over cooked hockey pucks. All 3 were ordered med-rare and arrived with zero pink in the middle. The mashed potatoes were chunky, lumpy and cold. My son ordered a cheese pizza and they brought him a cheeseburger. LOL We tried to help the young server but she had nothing but attitude. Regardless, we all had a great time in our own company and we ALL left her a 20% tip on each of our bills with a Merry Christmas message. Each bill was over $100. We were in the xmas spirit which is why even with the very poor service and food we all left a standard tip. Realizing it wasn't all her fault since she isn't cooking the food too. But hopefully she and the others at Silos will learn from the experience. Be better, Do better. We could have left you a $1 tip on a $500 bill!
Jamie was awesome for our group. She served us well and was very attentive.
Was a very nice place, the fish that my boyfriend ordered was not good tho, bones all over in it and absolutely no flavor. We sent it back and he ordered a burger which he said was good, my steak was good but a little pricey considering it was just a sirloin. We had a very nice waitress who took great care of us. It was overall a good experience and hopefully next time will be better if we decide to come back.
What a treat to enjoy a meal (with an excellent variety of menu options) and have a view of the harbor. It takes your breath away, whether dining during daytime or night with the incoming ships, aerial lift bridge, or the holiday lights of Bentleyville. Always great service and a shout out to the fantastic Alina! Thank you - we will be back soon.
Food was not great for the price. I had the walley tacos and they were nothing special. My son had a Ribeye and it was OK. One of the burgers were very well done (black) vs medium well
We had wonderful experiences at Silos in the past, lunch and dinner. And have recommended it to many friends. However their Thanksgiving buffet was subpar. Very disappointing.
Thanksgiving day buffet.
Doesn't the state health department require sneeze guards over the food? And what about many many people using the same serving spoons? Maybe we could pay $1 more and have servers fill our plates as we go by?
We had dinner and viewed Bentleyville lights.
Great nachos for happy hour. Josh is awesome bartender and took really good care of us. Best bread pudding I've ever had. Should be put on menu permanently.
Silos is a great place! The menu is excellent, service is friendly and the location is perfect to view the beautiful lift bridge and Bentleyville this time of year. Definitely recommend making a reservation.
Great atmosphere, service, and food. Amazing bay views of the bridge and ships coming in.
The food has always been good. Unfortunately, due to the large room and windows we’ve never had our food come to us piping hot. Not sure if they need to cover the food and bring it? Otherwise, we stop and have lunch there every time we are in Town and have eaten dinner many times. We like it but again, the food needs to be hot and they need to warm the restaurant up a bit more. I would still recommend it though.
Great ambience, view and menu. Service is attentive without being intrusive.
Very nice place with great happy hour specials. Food was good. I will go back.
Great food and our service was outstanding. Our second time here but this time we came on a Sunday evening so a pretty quiet atmosphere. Still a great place.
We went here for brunch on a Sunday and found the place to be disappointing. The menu is nearly non-existent, with a rather weak buffet on top. The food was slow to come and sat in the pass for ten minutes while the waiter plodded along doing various small tasks. The staff congregated around one of the tables in the dining room, seeming to enjoy themselves, but ultimately creating a bit of an awkward environment. The food was slow, cold, and overpriced for what was basically a burger-king equivalent meal. I am guessing that this place is new, and the management has some staffing kinks to work out.
Had the Beef Short Ribs on Saturday evening 10/26/2019. Second time there in the past year. While the meal was flavorful and properly prepared, it was barely warm. Unfortunate because the dish would have been so much better served hot.
The service was not terrible, just could have been more attentive. Long intervals between check ins at the table.
Travel to Duluth frequently and eat out often. Lots of great places to eat, lets hope Silos steps it up a notch.
The quality of the food and the service don't match the prices. They have a long way to go before becoming a respectable restaurant.
We really enjoyed this place. It has a fantastic view and the food was very good. It was a bit pricy, not someplace I could go often, but for special occasions we could go again.
Absolutely great place..... from service to atmosphere to food.
Went for brunch. The eggs Benedict was alright - the English muffin was too large and under toasted. Hash browns could have been better but the breakfast potatoes at the buffet were much better.
The hot chocolate was AMAZING.
Our server was pretty grumpy and short with us but she could have been having a bad day.
Will try again but hope things improve !
My ribeye was tough and the potatoes were luke warm. For the price the food was poor quality. Our service was good except for when my wife ordered a bottle of beer, a glass was not delivered to our table nor offered.
Tad spendy for what you get. $3 upcharge for a little onion on a steak that already costs $34. Cost was $70 for two person dinner with a steak and a burger. Overall it was nice and service was great. Just felt prices were a bit high.
We were up in Duluth for our anniversary and stayed at Pier B Resort and made a reservation at Silos, The resort and the restaurant in terms of atmosphere and location are great and the service was as well. Unfortunately for me the food, or lack there of, fell short. My wife and I ordered wings for an appetizer and they were out of wings, I ordered the ribs for dinner which they were out of as well so I struck out on both choices and was not made aware before deciding...I settled for the lemon chicken since I don't eat seafood which came with a quinoa salad and seasonal veggies and the quinoa salad was purposely served cold which was an unpleasant surprise having ordered a hot entree. Just a few small details that took away from our experience, all of which that I feel could have been avoided right up front.
Great find! Staff friendly & helpful. Loved the view & food was prepared as ordered. Looking forward to next visit.
The waiter we had was awesome! I can not remember his name though. I liked the menu sections better than when I was there last time. My son said that the burger he had was probably the best burger he has ever had. The prime rib was good as well but I didn't like the Aus jus bowl set in the mashed potatoes.
We have been so pleased with silo's for brunch and lunch. You can't beat the patio and view! Went for dinner and was disappointed by quality and value. $20 pasta dish with very little meat and veggies. $28 for one piece of baked walleye with a pilaf. Ridiculous. Service is always top-notch. Would try again for apps/drinks but skip for dinner.
