Stopped in for lunch on a recent visit to town. Had heard from friends who stayed at the hotel that this was a nice spot. Although it was 1pm on a Monday, I was surprised that there was only one other customer here. I was greeted and given my choice of seating. The wait staff were very prompt and pleasant. There were many delicious items to choose from. I decided to go with a seasonal salad with arugula, butternut squash, blue cheese, pecans and a maple vinaigrette. It had great flavor, but shortly after the server asked if I needed anything else I realized that there weren't any pecans on the salad. It still was very delicious but would have been much better with the bit of crunch from the pecans. I did mention it to the server when he checked in with me again, but I had already finished eating. To my surprise when the check came they had given me my entrée at half price because of their mistake. I was very appreciative of the gesture as it was not that big of an oversight. I look forward to coming back again to try them again. Lovely view of Lake Superior and the Aerial Bridge also!!!
I had planned for my party of four adults to enjoy a winter night out in Duluth. It would include the Glensheen Full Mansion Tour followed by dinner at the Silos Pier B. I had booked reservations for a window seat (in order to see Bentlyville across the slip) but according to the hostess a nearby booth would have to do. The server was nice and friendly. The atmosphere was festive and warm but a little hard to hear conversation in a half circle booth. Two of us ordered Swedish Meatballs with Ligonberry sauce. The $21 meal was good but not excellent considering the mashed potatoes and gravy was lukewarm and not near enough gravy making the meal's end dry and cold. There were only green beans served with it and the Ligonberry was more of a light garnish. It was no match for IKEA'S $6 meatball dinner but for nearly four times the price I expected better. But in all fairness our spouses like their meals and since you wanted survey feedback hopefully this helps. Merry Christmas!
Great service, wonderful food and amazing atmosphere!
Pier B is our go to hotel since they were built. Walking distance to Bentleyville, Ams Oil and Canal Park.
A perfect evening , great food and the scenery of Bentleyville was breathtaking.
New menu items we tried have not been well thought through. Some with no flavor, other way too salty. On the other hand the steaks were great. With some menu tweaks from the cook this place could be A-One. Great views and outstanding service make this restaurant worth another try.
What a beautiful dinner we had the view of Bentlyville was absolutely beautiful I will definitely come back and hopefully stay at the Hotel
Excellent service. Food was great. View is beautiful too.
We liked the location and the view. There does need to be work done with the Thanksgiving Buffet. More variety and attention given to the event is needed.
This was our second year at the Silo's for Thanksgiving dinner. Last year everything was outstanding, this year it was just OK. The selection of food seemed to be about half of last year, the food last year was much tastier - the dressing was to die for! This year there weren't even cranberries (or if there were, we didn't find them). While the desserts were quite good this year, last year the wait staff actually described them and served them to us along with the suggestion of coffee. We'll try it again next year and if things don't improve we'll find another venue for our Thanksgiving dinner.
The food was excellent. Window view of Bentleyville was very nice. Courtney is an excellent server.
Met my friends for dinner and birthday celebration. Our drinks and food were good. The server was more interested in flirting with another employee than taking our order or serving our food. The view was good but the restaurant got so loud that we couldn’t hold a conversation. We had to pay to park in their private parking lot.
Great location and amazing service. Good wine list. Disappointed with the quality and cook on the steak. Lack of seasoning on the steak and vegetables; felt like it was "cheaper" meat. Seafood looked wonderful
Very enjoyable, great food!
Wonderful restaurant to view the incoming and outgoing ships in the Duluth Harbor!
Beautiful restaurant, good food and a great view. It's got it all.
We went to the restaurant to watch the William Fitzgerald be moved out of the slip and across to Frazier ship yard. Great views, good food. Definitely recommend.
We have been here a couple of times this summer and have had two very good experiences on their deck which overlooks a marina. The food was excellent and the service very friendly. The view is superb, and there’s usually something going on at Bayfront Park, right across the marina, that provides good entertainment. It also has a good view of the bay and the Aerial Bridge.
We enjoyed our dinner at Silo’s. The food was good and seemed to be a fair value. Service was attentive and friendly and we love the outdoor dining area. We will certainly be back the next time we are in town.
This was our first visit to Silos at Pier B. Service was attentive and friendly. The menu was a little thin on choices but we both found entrees. My chop was cooked perfectly, my wife's filet was undercooked and had to be sent back. Chef sent out a new filet that was again a little under done but she ate it. We would probably go back again on a future visit. This is as trendy bar and restaurant with wonderful views and great outdoor areas.
Wonderful view with balcony dining.
Servers were very busy and working very hard. Took a while to get waited on, but seemed like they needed more help because the workers were flying around trying to take care of everyone . Prime rib was really delicious and the martinis were perfect.
I felt like a couple more people on duty would have taken down the feeling of hectic in the air. Will definitely go back for some apps and drinks on the balcony!
We sat outside and the ambiance was nice, but the service was slow and my wife had salmon that was beyond overcooked.
For the dining experience: I put all outstanding, But.... My friend and I were unable to get to the restaurant because of the bike race or whatever was going on.
Every where we turned ROAD CLOSED! So we just gave up.
Average service and food including a gloppy artichoke dip, over-fried shrimp tacos and bland walleye. With so many other nice dinner places in Duluth, doubt we'll be back.
We had a great experience here! Really good food, excellent service from Taylor, and great ambience with lake views. Would definitely come back next time we are in the area again.
Thoughtful service ensured we got an outdoor table in advance of our reserved time. Great view of Duluth waterfront, saw big ships and small. Excellent margaritas, tasty apps. Enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Great spot for a perfect outdoor evening on Lake Superior.
Very nice dining experience! We’ll be back!
Went here after hearing from others food was good, but pricey. For the poor quality of the food it was pricey. My wife had walleye, which she described as "OK", but said rice was watery and flavorless. I had T-bone (ordered medium rare) and garlic mashed potatoes. My steak was brought out medium well to well done. I was trying to find our waiter and after several minutes another server said that she would get him. When my second steak was brought back, it was slightly better- medium in the middle third, medium well in outside thirds. Garlic Mashed potatoes were very dry, ok when I used the butter that was supposed to be melted on steak but wasn't. Our server never came back to check on us at any point during the meal, which I found surprising thinking he would want to ensure the second steak was done appropriately. Overall this was not a good experience and we will not be going back. Better flavor and service at Applebee's.
Drove from Twin Cities for lunch. Beautiful location and great food
Gathered with friends for lunch on a beautiful summer day. The outdoor patio is the best in Duluth. The lunch menu offered a nice variety with fresh ingredients. Unfortunately, Silos (like a lot of Duluth restaurants) still struggles with employing professional wait staff and was a bit under-staffed over the lunch-time rush.
Too crowded, salmon dinner was kid size and our waiter was not good at anything!!! Service was so bad!
Great experience. Attentive wait staff. View of Lake Superior. Walleye was delicious, asparagus was tender, rice pilaf very flavorful. Nachos with chicken were some of the best I've ever had - delicious! Bourbon Chicken & Brie was exceptional. Large servings. Great flavor. Food was delivered hot and quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Also went to the breakfast buffet which was reasonably price and had choices that would suit everyone. No bad experiences here. This is a lovely location and we intend to return time and time again.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Silos/Pier B. It was my grandson's 11th birthday that week, so we wanted to take him to a special place. He's talked about Pier B before, but was disappointed that you no longer have swordfish on the menu ;) (He had checked online quite some time ago and saw that!) I had the walleye, and it was great - although the rice pilaf was rather tasteless. The guys had burgers and LOVED them! Our waitress, Tegan, was delightful - very attentive and sweet. We would have liked to sit outdoors, too, but it was raining. We'll be back on a nice, sunny day to sit on your lovely patio!
The fish and cheese app platter is great! Excellent smoked salmon. My wife ordered the Caesar salad and it was dry and the croutons were blah, not crunchy. I ordered the falafel salad and it was tasteless. The Falafels were not authentic; mushy bean consistency and not cooked inside.
The hostess acted like she did not know we had a reservation. We had requested outdoor seating, which she made no attempt to accommodate that. Or a table with a view. Our server was great, though
We sat outside overlooking the lake - the ambiance was excellent.
Food was average- felt prepackaged with little creativity.
I would not comfier this a high end establishment in regards to the food but it’s priced as so.
Our server Taylor was excellent- very attentive with a fantastic personality. I would ask to be in her section if we go back.
We sat on the beautiful deck outside the Silos Restaurant (Pier B Hotel) in Duluth, MN. The view was amazing! We were able to witness a huge ship leaving the harbor, as we enjoyed our wonderful dinner! I had the walleye, which was excellent, as were the other entriees, including the pork chop entree, and shrimp linguine! They also have a good children's menu! The service was also wonderful! We will definitely be back!
Lamb chop was yummy!
The falafel was not good, it was mushy:(
Food and drinks were great. Views were beautiful and the main reason for choosing this restaurant. The staff nearly ruined the entire experience. The staff seemed to be comprised of mainly college-aged people, who clearly did not fully understand their job responsibilities.
We waited for over 10 minutes before being given water.
We had to ask for silverware 2 times before being given the items, well over 30 minutes after being seated.
We were passed by several times and had to reach out for the attention of the nearest staff member to have someone take our order.
After our order was placed, we waited nearly 20 minutes to receive our order - the first order was only two drinks. That is unacceptable.
When I went inside to ask where the restroom was, two staff members stared at each other and said, "I think it's around the corner outside."
Train your staff better or simply hire experienced staff. Don't allow this to be the reason people avoid this restaurant with great desserts, drinks, and beautiful, unbeatable views.
