It was my wife’s birthday and I wanted to make it special! We had never been and we couldn’t have been more pleased !! We’ll be back again!
Excellent service and food!
Definitely quite pricey, but a great food experience. Lobster fondue, scallops and the steak were highlights! Friendly attentive service without being too invasive
Totally loved the place for its food and service. Unfortunately the roof top was not open because of cold wet weather, but we plan to return once it warms up again.
Excellent restaurant. The ambiance is part throwback to the fine dining of yesteryear, E.G. live piano and jacketed waitstaff, but with a healthy dose of modern innovation.
The waitstaff and mgmt were incredibly professional and knowledgeable.
As for the food....it was awesome!! Try the seafood fondue and the seabass. Sitting right next to the kitchen we got to watch the Allen bros tomahawk ribeye leave for several tables and it looked nothing short of succulent.
You will not be disappointed!
My husband is a chef so we enjoy eating good food. This restuarant was one of the best meals we have had in downtown SA in a while. The Riverwalk has many upscale establishments but Silo Prime definitely stands above.
Enjoyed our dinner at Silos Prime. The food was very good and service outstanding. We were dining with several couples and it was easy to carry on a conversation with each other. The menu was varied and offered many choices. There is an outdoor bar upstairs which was pleasant also. Definitely would return and mark this as a special occasion restaurant
Food is fantastic & ambiance was great, too!
Great service, great food. Waiter, Jason was fantastic.
We enjoyed the ambiance, piano aying in the background of a fine meal and spectacular service
Went for Culinaria menu. Everyone opted for the Allen Brothers sourced filet which was perfectly cooked. Tried all the sides & loved the brussel sprouts & butter milk mashed potatoes. Creamed spinach & asparagus were not bad either. Too full for dessert so brought it home for later. Matt helped us choose the perfect wine with french onion soup & caesar salad.
Food and service was great. Will definitely be back
Great food and ambiance! Wonderful service! We always enjoy coming for special occasions!!!
First off, the live piano music is a nice idea, but too loud in a smaller room (especially when you're table is somewhat close to it) - difficult to hear conversations at your own table (of only 3 people).
My mother, uncle, & I dined from the restaurant week menu. The French onion soup was the best I've ever had! The flavor was lovely & rich. The Kobe burger was fantastic & delicious! The salmon was cooked to PERFECTION! The skin was crispy and flavorful. The chocolate mousse was a nice end to our meal - flavorful & airy (I prefer the texture to be more creamy & solid, while still light). Our server talked a LOT in the beginning (personal stories, etc)- that's ok sometimes, but we just wanted to get started eating. Once our entrees arrived, we didn't see our server much - LOTS of waiting for refills, dessert, and the check. She seemed to lose a sense of timeliness half way through our meal.
Our meal was excellent as was the service. It was our first time at Silo's Prime and we will definitely return.
Not a bad place. Good food. The service was adequate; you can tell it was fresh crew—door greeter was not very welcoming and not very knowledgeable about the dining venue. And some minor deficiencies during the dining experience, but the food makes up for the customer service.
We've eaten at Silo Prime several times before. This was a Restaurant Week menu. We were disappointed that instead of featuring their usual Allen and Allen meat, they brought in a "locally sourced" filet for this special menu. This Culinaria menu is identical to the Culinaria menus at 3 other Silo restaurants, so why drive downtown? I recommend they get their own menu next Culinaria Restaurant week, even if they have to charge $45 instead of $35 (the "locally sourced" filet was a $9 surcharge, which would have been fine if it was their usual Allen and Allen prime aged steak.
Service was spotty--we had to ask for bread for instance.
Otherwise it was up to expectations.
We very much like all the Silo restaurants and have eaten hundreds of excellent meals at them. This was hopefully a one-time disappointment.
Seemed really slow to get done and served. The restaurant was not busy but still took over 2 hours.
The experience was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted at the door as soon as we walked in. We were told our table was ready and they didn’t even bat an eye when we requested to have a drink in the bar before being seated. It was fun to watch the bartender make cinnamon infused vodka for guest who requested Hot Damn. Everyone was very attentive from the moment we arrived until we retrieved our car from the Valet. We will definitely go here again.
Great spot we’ve been to before and will continue to come back. Alternate between them and NONA
First visit to Silo Prime. Fantastic! All around
Our server was fantastic and Patrick the GM was very nice. The server had great recommendations like the Tomahawk to the mac and cheese side.
Delicious meal! Their take on a wedge salad is wonderful!!! The veal chop was cooked perfectly! The cocktails and wine were perfect! Great service from Jason!
Exceptional...Both the food and the service...My husband's filet was perfection, but I was thrilled to find
that they aren't only a steak house. My Sea bass was perfect...Not inexpensive, but worth it for the special night out....
I ordered the spinach salad which was delicious. My friend ordered the lobster bisque which was weak. She was given a pear salad instead and it was superb. I ordered the ribeye which was cooked to perfection. It was tender and succulent. My friend ordered the tenderloin and it was so charred she had to cut the charred sides of to get to the medium rare part. They brought her another tenderloin which was much better. The dessert was good. The wine was good too. A very good pinot noir. Our waiter was a little inexperience in handling my friend's request but he did confide with the manager and the manager met my friend's every request. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner. I truly enjoyed the pianist.
Weigh over priced for the food
Best steak in San Antonio
We took a couple from out of town. Parked across the street for $10 and walked across. We were an hour early for our reservations and were seated immediately. Water was poured with citrus choices to compliment offered. The crab cake for an appetizer was incredible and was done perfectly minus the garnishing on the plate. I had a center cut ribeye and our guests had the sea scallops and both were delicious, I couldn’t have cooked the steak better then it was. Hands down the best restaurant prepared steak in years. The server was a young lady and was very attentive without out being overbearing. Very pleased with this place and would dine again.
Tip- order sides to share between 4 people. We had a ton of leftovers.
Beautiful room. Sea bass was excellent. A terrific piano player in the corner set a great mood. Wonderful evening.
Wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at Silo Prime. Location is great—downtown and at the Fairmount, and the atmosphere was lovely with live piano music. Not too loud, not too dark, not too crowded.
One of the best in the Silo family. The food is always perfectly prepared. Service is excellent. Highly recommend.
We went here for our anniversary, it was a little dark but overall the food was good and the service was fabulous.
We ordered the Tomahawk steaks...and they were very ordinary... expexted more for the price.
As always Silo never disappoints. We have eaten regularly at the 1604 location and this was our first time to the downtown restraunt and it held to the standard. Next we try the I10 location near our home.
We love Silo Prime! It is the ONLY restaurant we have found where we can have a conversation! The service is outstanding and the food delicious. All restaurants now seems so loud. There is no point going out if you can’t talk to your dinner partners . Patrick, the manager, is great at his job!
Still, after 2 visits, my no.1 favorite steak place in San Antonio, and I've been to all of them. Try the steak tartare!
Prime is a wonderful steak seafood house at the Fairmont. We have eaten at all of the Silos and prime is our new favorite. The seabass was perfect. My wifes scallops were the best she has ever eaten.
A great find! Love SILO! This one is now my favorite!
More an extension of a hotel dining room than a steakhouse and whiskey spot. Stuffiness more than abeyance. Super disappointed with their “ribeye’
Food was delicious. The server was horrible. My husband mentioned our anniversary and my birthday at the time of reservations and there was no acknowledgment of either. Food is expensive.
