Poor service, inattentive
I would recommend however would also pay attention to menu items as we did love our bites but ordered to many fried plates.
We had 11am reservations and the restaurant opens at 10:30am. There were plenty of open tables, but they had obviously not set up a table for our group before arriving. Then we were told that one of the menu selections (on a limited menu) was not available because they hadn't prepared them yet. I had to ask for my drink order twice before receiving it because the rest of the table had gotten theirs and mine never came. The mimosas are premade. The food is hit or miss. The hot chicken sliders were great, as was the deviled eggs, bacon and biscuits. But the omelet was awful and made from either milk carton eggs or had flour added to the eggs to create a gross thick texture. The skillet meal had steak pieces that were all grisly. Definitely not what you expect from $15-20 a plate entrees. I had to check again to see when what year the restaurant first opened, because these are not things that would typically be wrong with an established restaurant. Would not recommend, would not go back.
Great food! Great waitress! We really enjoyed the evening here.
Great meal and service. Unique culinary experience.
Weekend brunch with hubby
I knew it would be good but it was even better. We ate tapas style and had a BLAST. Every bite was perfect.
Amazing time there.
Our reservation was for 1pm - we didn’t get seated until 2:05. We didn’t get water at the table until 2:15p
One of us asked for black coffee which arrived at 2:30.
We ordered quickly and our food arrived at that time. Now 90 min from our reservation time. We had to go back to the car and pay for extra parking.
One of the orders was delivered incorrectly but we just stick with it because we were very hungry for or 1pm lunch!
The service could have done so many things to make this better but didn’t. The place was busy but not overwhelming so.
There was never an offer to refill the $4 cup of black coffee and we didn’t get more water until after the check came.
This visit was a disaster. There are too many places in Nashville to go to for an enjoyable experience. I’m ashamed to have spent the kind of money I did for what you could get at a mom and pop diner.
The food was really good! The menu is unique, but not in a way that will scare picky eaters away. The deviled eggs are delicious, but that was the one thing that felt overpriced... the service felt slow, but they were also busy.
Decent food, awful service. Our table was fairly large and right in the front of the restaurant, but the service was lacking in almost every way. We didn’t see our main food until an hour after placing our order. The staff wasn’t terribly apologetic and tried to tell us we were wrong about how long it had been (we weren’t). Had no water refills and had to ask for more coffee, and getting checks even took forever.
I attended brunch with friends and we all loved the food and mimosas.
The fried okra and pork chop were great. The sushi and meat tray were good.
The server was great! The food was delicious!
We went to Silo for my birthday and had a great time. The short ribs and steak were amazing. The server was friendly, attentive, made great suggestions, but didn't bother us when we didn't need to be.
A great brunch out catching up with a friend on the patio!
Delicious contemporary Southern food. We opted for several small plates so we could taste a variety of the dishes. The heirloom tomatoes, ribs, fried Brie and peanut butter pie were all delicious. Also had a great Silo Old Fashioned!
We waited 17 minutes to place our drink order. It was downhill from there. The food was not good. The service was nonexistent.
Normally I would not write a negative review. However, we chose Silo for our main night out big dinner for our group of 14 while visiting Nashville and were very disappointed by the restaurant. Our server - Rebecca - was fantastic and did everything she could while the team behind her completely let her down. Slow food. Slow drinks. Ordered off the sushi menu and 1-1/2 hour into our dinner were told that was not an option. Out of rice. They ran out of wine glasses. Seriously? Saturday night and you run out of wine glasses? Finally I asked for a manager and was only able to speak with a bar back. I then found out the restaurants OWNER was on site - drinking at the bar- and never came over to apologize or step in to help make things right. His staff tried to rally at the 2 hour mark and he sent over - at the very end of our meal - a snarky employee to take the criticism which was frankly too little. Too late. Bottom line, the owner of this restaurant should be ashamed of his behavior by letting his staff down while he sat in the bar. Other restaurant owners in Nashville look up Rebecca at Silo and hire her away. This restaurant is in the middle of a slide down to the bottom.
This restaurant does not disappoint! The place has a great atmosphere and is very relaxed. The food is fantastic! Get the Mac n cheese!
The food was good! We enjoyed the lpork chop and filet very much. We loved the ambiance. Yet it took forever to get a drink at the bar and we felt the overall service was slow.
In town for a long weekend with family. SILO was a highlight. The Germantown neighborhood, the delicious creative food, and attentive service were all we hoped for.
Silo has a little something for everyone. They offer small plates and full portion entrées. creative craft cocktails are available along with local craft beers. For dessert please order ice cream and cookies. You won’t be disappointed.
Nicely done neighborhood feel of a restaurant. Made reservations, but no wait early in the week. Server was attentive and friendly. Parmesan fries were limp and soggy. Strip steak was ordered medium rare and was served pretty close to well done. Had an appearance almost as if it were flash fried before slicing. Not good and ate less than half. Ribs were tasty. Ravioli with brown butter the best.
Nice brunch outing with an older relative. Good service & great food. A consistent favorite for our family.
Very disappointing from the menu differences from what was published on OpenTable to the quality of the food served. My wife’s food was Luke warm at best - the Huevos Rancheros. The chips were too greasy to eat.
I had the frittata and it was over cooked.
We had a group of 15, made a mistake with our reservation and they went out of their way to accommodate. A group of 10 booked with us. The food was good and it wasn’t crazy busy area. Great night! Thanks Silo!!🙌🏻
Menu was not interesting. Too limited. Martini was small.
They had fantastic drinks and small plates, I think next time I will just get a bunch of small plates.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere at Silo! We decided on several small plates and the Ricotta Dumplings were fantastic! Reasonably priced as well.
Passing thru Nashville for the night and wanted something off the strip. Food was amazing and accommodated every request. Even our young ones were happy.
Our server Rebecca was super sweet and answered all our questions and provided recommendations that were right on.
Thank you for a great dinner!!
The starters were great, but the mains had a lot of salt in them. We were a party of 9 and 5 people had concerns with the quality given the salt levels. The server also seemed frustrated at times and didn't have a fun, interactive demeanor. They ran out of the wine our party was ordering, so they offered us a better bottle at the same price, which was a nice touch.
We arrived about 30 min before the kitchen opened but they seated us right away and allowed us to order drinks while we waited. We ordered the deviled eggs, caramel bacon popcorn, truffle fries. They were all so good! The deviled eggs were delicious 3 different flavors and surprisingly filling. The truffle fries were flavorful but not overbearing. The popcorn was a sweet/savory treat
My boyfriend and I made a reservation here for a Sunday brunch. Even with our reservation there were plenty of open seats available (however, do note it is not a very large establishment). I stuck with water and lemon for my drink but my boyfriend ordered the bloody mary which had a nice spice kick to it! For brunch I ordered the corned beef hash with the buttermilk biscuit beignets, my boyfriend ordered the SILO skillet with buttermilk biscuits and gravy. Overall our food was delicious and very filling! The reason for the 4 stars is because sound seems to travel very easily within the building. I could easily pick up many other patrons conversations yet had a hard time hearing my date! Also, the service by our waitress could have seen a slight improvement. It probably took about 15 minutes just to get some lemon for my water...she even admitted twice to forgetting the lemon. Overall though an enjoyable experience.
Brunch. This little gem in Germantown is wonderful. We enjoyed hot chicken sliders, corn beef hash, and the biscuits with sausage gravy. Bloody Mary’s were really good and OJ was fresh.
Atmosphere was very cool and the staff were great. The food at Silo is absolutely delicious!
Had a reservation at 8 for a party of 5. Where they wanted to seat us the people did not leave. They sat several parties of 4 before us and finally sat us at 8:45. They did give us some drinks complimentary- but affected our evening cause of delay and other plans. Food was good once we finally ate. Not sure I would go back.
We were seated next to a drunk table of ten. That was fine except that our waitress was preoccupied with them. Our waitress took our order but returned twice to get it again because she couldn’t remember it. She never asked us for a drink order. We received our appetizers fairly quickly but waited at least 30 minutes for our dinner order. Both were highly vinegared. The vegetarian tamales were not good and the summer salad was not good either. Too much vinegar and the collard tamale was very uninspired. We waited at least 20 more minutes to try to catch the attention of this wAitress and had to ask for the bill. It was a very disappointing experience and we will not be back. I have dined on two other occasions years back at silo. This was a deal breaker.
Very small menu. Prices are reasonable. Food is average and the restaurant tries to be unique with its food, but it does not make it. We ordered a side order of vegetables were not fully cooked. Potatoes in there vegetables were not cooked. We mentioned it to the waitress and she said nothing.
