The service was exceeded only by the food. Superior in both ways.
Didn't know beforehand that oysters on the half-shell were unable on Sundays and Mondays. Very disappointing.
Great food and outstanding service. You can't go wrong here. The specials are always a delight too.
Good as usual, though the redfish was a little dry and the duck breast a little gristly. But we'll be back -- great, cozy atmosphere for friends to dine. Excellent service.
It was a very nice and relaxing dinner. Entrees are nicely prepared and service is excellent. Quality and service are very consistent across visits. Chef specials are very good.
The food was great and so is the wine menu. I was able to try some different wine at a good price. This location is a lot less crowded than other locations. Definitely a plus for us.
Food and service was EXCELLENT as always. Our go to place for a great dinner.
Great ambience, attentive staff, and extensive wine list. Excellent for dates and anniversaries.
Always one or favorites. Last night was one of our best dining experiences at Silo. The food was exceptional as was the service.
Slow wait staff tonight
Dining experience was delightful initially ...we had the whole restaurant to ourselves until they placed a party of 6 right next to us. I didn't understand that at all, they had the whole restaurant to seat them elsewhere. Otherwise, good experience.
We've dined here many times over the years. Never had a less than delightful meal. Food and service are always great. This years Restaurant Week menu is superb. And you can eat and have a conversation here, unlike many of the restaurants in SA.
We tend to forget how wonderful the Silo is, and it is close to our home! The food is well prepared and presented. The service is great! You can actually have a conversation( I did check moderate noise because if it is full it would be moderate)! We went for restaurant week with a group of friends...wonderful choices and you are given the special menu without asking!!! They do have an early bird special(before 6:30) regularly. It is a very nice restaurant! Crab cakes are delicious as are all the salads. The ahi tuna appetizer was wonderful and the chicken fried oysters are divine! The scallop special was especially good! The wine parings were generous and nicely priced. We had a wonderful leisurely and delicious meal and evening!
SIlo was the only really foodie spot we found in San Antonio. It did not disappoint. The wine list was staggering with some really high priced stuff, but the value end of the wine list was excellent - don't let the low prices fool you.
They happily substituted veggies for starch and the plates still came up with beautiful presentation.
Food was clever and beautifully prepared. Our table had low light so it was hard to see some of the craftsmanship. Our only real grip was the foie gras on toast was hard to eat properly because the dark goose liver hid on top of the dark toast. Pretty small issue.
The building has three things in it - two restaurants and a bar which is slightly confusing, but it works.
Touristy towns tend to have food no better than "just good" but Silo bucks this trend.
We went for the San Antonio Restaurant Week deal. Somewhat formal and upscale, the food was great, staff attentive and the ambiance very good. A bite pricey for me on a regular basis though. I'll go again when there is another deal to enjoy.
They were very prompt and courteous. The various garnishments offered for the glasses of water was a nice touch. The ravioli was amazing. I will return
We always enjoy the food. It's always great to see chef Luca😊😊
The food, wine and service were fantastic and delicious!
However, I believe the bar stools are made for very tiny people. Extremely uncomfortable!
Food and service was great. I would like to see some new items on the menu, not just a daily special. Needs some new choices.
The food was outstanding....honestly one of the best dinners ever and I have traveled the World and had fantastic cuisine on 5 continents. But, the one thing that made the night truly comfortable and fun for my wife and I was the waitress with the dimples! She was the nicest, down-to-earth person and had an amazing smile with a personality to match. We left The Silo with a satisfied palate and full heart.
Food was average. Staff was not friendly!! I am getting tired of asking wait staff their names, that should be the first thing offered! All restaurants in San Antonio are like this!! Very unprofessional!!
This is one of the 3 SILO. I love the restaurants. They have same lunch menus at least at the Alamo Heights and 1604.
Server and was attentive and knowledgable about wine choices . Appetizer and salads came out quickly but main course took longer than usual. (Only half the tables were occupied) Food was outstanding , as always.
I was glad that they were available for a last min birthday dinner plan! I had a great birthday and this place completed it, the food was wonderful. The drinks were really good and the service was amazing. I highly recommend the scallops. My only complaint was the blue cheese stuffed pasta, a little too strong for my taste buds. They had a creative creation on the old fashion that was a little to strong but otherwise good.
This is my second trip to Silos in Alamo Heights. I live in Houston, so my trips here are infrequent. It's the perfect restaurant for impressing someone. I took a client the first time (two years ago) and he was floored. This time (two nights ago) I took a friend and she loved it. She and I finished the evening with a nightcap at the bar downstairs. I had to change my reservation three times as I faced several delays getting to San Antonio. The staff at Silos were very accommodating. The food was outstanding.
Food is great as is the service. I was taking two 89 year old ladies to dinner and it was so noisy it was hard to hear each other. We were seated next to the window which allowed too much noise from downstairs to be heard.
We were pleased with the whole experience. We particularly appreciated that the background music presented was especially suitable for relaxed dining.
food was Fantastic but we were disappointed with our service (we waited a long time for our drinks).
Great dinner and highly recommend the Redfish meal and the Sea Bass special if they have it. Their Moscow mule is great, but stay away from their overly syrupy bourbon and champagne berry mixed drink.
Excellent service and an excellent dinner for a special occasion.
Really good food, excellent server but bad table seating -- we arrived at 6 p.m. on Saturday and we were placed at the Right Front by wine, computer screens with servers running behind us/beside us during our meal -- just a bad placement for a table -- for $200.00 bill for two people, there should be no bad tables/seats -- it was early, restaurant was not full, we had reservations and, yes, we should have asked to be moved when Manager set us there.
Fantastic. Staff was courteous and kept an eye on the tables.
We had a delicious meal at Silo and were able to enjoy great conversation with our friends because it was not too loud.
Hungarian server was fantastic. The food was just ok for this price point
Silo's menu is very appealing to any appetite, and everything we have ever had is delicious. The service is great. The only negative point I can make is that there are no windows- it is a dark stark room. The pretty photographs on the walls are helpful, but it could be lightened up.
We had a pleasant experience. The food was delicious and our waiter was wonderful and very attentive.
The experience is forever embedded in my mind. It will be difficult to find another restaurant with the most appealing food, and ambiance was outstanding. It was our first visit and we already planning another dinner. Love it!!!
As always we had an exceptional dining experience at Silo in Alamo Heights. Our server, Shelby, was awesome and very knowledgable. Our water was always refilled quickly by another gal there, our food was delicious and came out in a timely fashion, and the prices were reasonable for brunch. We were told it was Shelby's first day on the floor, but we never would have guessed that based on the service we received. We will definitely be back soon!
Everything was great but my server kept forgetting things and brought me the wrong wine. She needs to write things down if it's that hard remembering two orders when we were her only table. There was only 8 guest in the dinning room and we were her only table. Not good at all . Besides that food was on point and on time.
I forgot to give them my name for the reservation because the restaurant was empty at 11am
