We were looking for a place to go for dinner and everything was full I saw this pop up on open table so we decided to give it a try SO glad we did the food was awesome and the service was great we had the stuffed mushrooms, chicken wraps, Brussel sprouts, caprice s
salad, beat salad and sliders they were all awesome we will definitely be back
Our dinner and service were excellent. The reason I did not give it a much higher rating is that the tables were VERY close together, which does not follow the 6' Covid guidelines. Other than that, the experience was good.
Servers were not super friendly, food was bland, wine was meh. Then our server was assumed that we enjoyed our date enough to add a 20% tip without asking - which we would’ve left anyway, but she decided she earned it I guess? Will not be back.
Great Valentines dinner
Food was absolutely amazing
Service was spectacular
Staff was all conversing with each other as we entered and an awkward greeting. Food was subpar compared to one of their sister restaurants Skyline. Our experience at Skyline has been excellent and we have been there several times. Gave this a shot and won’t be back. To many options out there. Also on Yelp there was a story pop up the showed Fel Pinot Noir $20 bottle of wine specials which is what drew us in. However when I showed the waitress she was confused and knew nothing about this offer. Then when looking it showed the story was live from 2 months prior which I feel is more on Yelp than on them. They did hooor with one. You’ve of their lower price Cabernets which was kind but it was a disappointment as this Cab didn’t have the same rating as the Pinot advertised on their Yelp story. Also my silverware was dirty and I had to ask for a new one. The napkin also had hair in it which I didn’t tell the waitress because I had a clean one from the new set and I just folded that one a put it aside. Just not a great start to our first visit. Honestly won’t give it another try. There are to many other places to try in Reno with excellent ratings.
Very nice. It was our first time there. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our appetizers and entrees were very flavorful and the cocktails were delicious.
Definitely going back
I would definitely come back! Delicious food, specially the steak
New to the area and looking for places to try. This is a sort of dive looking location but it’s a pleasant surprise inside. My old fashioned was the best I’ve had. It was perfectly balanced with a ripe orange peel garnish that when squeezed drops a perfect hint of Orange flavor and fragrance. The scallops were delicious, the sliders were great, the bruschetta was flavorful... all very good. I gave 4 because of Covid, it just dampens the mood and experience wherever you go. Spring, outside, by the river and this could be a 5.
We had a date night here. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful.
The food was good, although expensive. The waiter was rude and inattentive, though. He ruined all experience.
We ordered multiple tapas and shared. They were able to stagger the dishes so that not all arrived at the same time. We enjoyed them all with several glasses of wine. Server was great. Will return.
The restaurant wasn’t crowded when we got there, but soon after became packed. We sat at the bar as it afforded us better social distancing, however none of the tables were spaced to give proper spacing, and there was even a group of 12 that was seated, when local law states no groups larger than 6.
Very expensive for a small plate restaurant. Left feeling hungry.
The food and cocktails were both very good! We sampled quite a few dishes and they all came out delicious. Will go back next time we pass through Reno!
was a real nice place to meet girlfriends for dinner , the beet martini was excellent as was our meals. Katelyn , our server was a doll, room was fun.
Great food, music, and service! Thank you
Sierra Kitchen & Cocktail has become a regular spot. ... we’re there a couple times per month. Great staff. Great food. Fantastic flavors.
We were there for a late lunch & it was just what we were looking for. We put in a quick order for meatballs & crab cakes to share, both of which were delicious. We moved on to mushrooms & sliders, again, very good. The tapas format worked great for us - we felt like we could have grazed all day.
Greta food. Great service. Quick. Nice cocktails. Love this place
Great small plates
Very good service
Nice bistro vibe
Great food, and service. A super surprise on how they serve their food. Small plate portions works so well as you can try different dishes.
SSK is one of Reno's not-so-hidden hot spots. Great food & bev, good vibe, near the river in the heart of downtown.
Very cute and quaint, the environment was very desirable. Staff was on point. Food was delicious.
Wonderful food!!!
SSK is a downtown Reno gem. Great location near the river, open to and above the street. Small plates of genuinely good food and great cocktails. Was disappointed that my favorite Negroni came out mostly Campari, as opposed to their usual balance of liquors, but a minor point in an otherwise great pre-concert dinner.
We had high expectations based on reviews and other people recommendations. Thought food quality was average, portions small for the price. We ordered 6 tapas, enjoyed the Thai chicken wraps the best. The seared ahi street tacos were tiny with one piece of fish in each taco and little bit of red cabbage that was bitter. Atmosphere and service was good since it was not that busy at 6 pm.
Enjoyable restaurant. We had a great server and a good dinner. The atmosphere was very relaxed. I had taco-of-the-day special, and lamb chop small plate. 3 petite lamb chops over risotto on veal demi. All very good.
Service wasn’t great, we didn’t get refills on our drinks for quite awhile, we weren’t able to order coffee before our dessert, we were mostly ignored throughout the meal, we were disappointed.
We would like to try this place again when it’s not a Prix Fix which they had for New Years. We get it. Most restaurants expect large crowds killing time before the ball drops so make it easier for their wait staff and kitchen. It was my birthday and I was in the mood for tapas. I was just excited about trying out their menu, but alas the limited menu just means I’ll have to go another night.
Love this place. The small plates are great and fun to share. Very unique cocktails.
Excellent cocktails, delicious small plates, good value and close to everything in downtown. One of our favorite places.
The food was amazing! The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because the bartender was not very friendly, however, it was a busy night with the Santa Crawl. We had reservations and there was no one around with whom we could check in. So, we sat at the bar and waited for someone to become available. As soon as we checked in with a server, we were immediately sat. From there, the service was great.
As always, Sierra Kitchen and Cocktails was wonderful. We had steamed clams for an appetizer and enjoyed the three course Thanksgiving meal. The clams are our favorite, they were great. I had the salmon, it was cooked perfectly.
I’ve been wanting to try this place and all the dishes we had were really flavorful, perfect portions and just food all over! Our server was super nice and even told us what the cue was to order because we were talking too much!
The food is great and delivered fresh and hot. If you enjoy sharing and trying new dishes this is a fun dining experience. Be sure to order the meatballs, brussel sprouts, beet salad and the sliders.
The cocktails are terrific. Creative and tasty. The food was excellent. The small plates were plenty for three friends to share. The desserts need some work. We sent one back and the second was just OK. Colby who is also a manager was our waiter. He guided us through the menu and recommended an excellent red wine at a very good price. He was knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating. It was noticed that the clientele was a mix of young and old. I look forward to trying the other kitchen on Skyline.
Such a surprise. Loved the food. Definitely will dine there again
Excellent food best downtown restaurant. Deserts need a little working to live up to the 5 star tapas.
I love this place. My second time visiting. I will return again and again! The scallops are to die for!
Great menu and wonderful service. I would visit again and invite others to join.
