Sierra St. Kitchen & Cocktails
This is a true find in the Reno area. Delicious, creatively prepared food, good cocktails, wonderful service, reasonable price. Highly recommend!
Although the food was very good - (Seared Ahi was fabulous, I also had lettuce chicken wraps,. Others had the Ahi Nachos beet salad, and the sliders), the dated and weird interior décor - dark purple paint, black on some walls, etc. threw the experience off. I would totally come back for the food, especially if they updated the décor and the vibe.
Definitely coming back to enjoy the food and try some libations
Concur with other reviews. Pricey but good.
We have been to Sierra Street on numerous occasions. As always, our experience on Monday night was exceptional. We had several old favorites (stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes) and a special item -- that turned out to be one of our all time favorites -- Ahi Nachos!! We are hoping that they become a regular menu item. Delicious!!!
Love Sierra Street, went for lunch this time, everything was delicious. Small plates so you pick 3 or 4 items. Scallops a must the polenta with the short rib can’t go wrong, love the meatballs and the salads Caesar’s was perfect with a little fruity martini can’t go wrong. Small place window seat is the best, used to have 1/2 bottles of wine off on Mondays this time we went on Thursday, but if you go on Monday it’s pretty much any wines on their list.
Great service from Kevin. Very good food and wine for the price. We will return.
Best tapas in town!
Food is fresh and oh so yummy.!! All staff is friendly and helpful. Cooks are right there for you to see and compliment. Will go back often
Great food and drinks, surprisingly affordable too
Great food! Small place but great tapas and drinks. Pretty affordable.
I always enjoy eating here with friends. Food is meant to be shared and it is so easy to do at Sierra St. Kitchen. Brought guests from Connecticut. They really enjoyed the salad, clams and Ahi tacos. The pacing and service was spot on.
We had 6 different dishes including pork belly street tacos and beet salad. It is difficult to make 6 dishes well and they knocked them all out of the park. I’ll be back
Loved every dish we ordered, enjoyed great wine, and the service was stellar. I am very picky and worked in the food service industry, so this review is not written by someone who loves everything. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our dinner. Thanks for not letting us down!
Great small plates. Best drinks! Best service with Vanessa. I will definitely come back when I’m in Reno.
Great dining experience. Amazing food, great service
Food was perfect as well as the service!
Always great food here.
The food was great and Vanessa was an outstanding server. Thank you!!
Met friends for dinner, they had never been, we had previously and had quite enjoyed it. They too enjoyed it and will most likely go back as will we. Love the small plate style that allows us to share several options.
EVERY single dish we had was amazing. The scallops melted in my mouth and were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had a group of 8 so we had the opportunity to order lots of dishes to share. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Reno.
Made our Mother's Day so great!!! NEVER QUESTION - Always get the mac'n cheese!!!!! :)
They were wonderful! They accommodated our group of 20 with a smile, great service, and great food!
I say yes with a qualifier. The food was good, but over priced.
Small bites of good food. Service was good and kitchen was quick. Good wine list.
Everything about the dining experience was very good. We were there on Wednesday night during live entertainment. It's a small setting and the music was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation with our friends.
We had a wonderful experience again. The bacon wrapped figs are my favorite. I always enjoy the food and service at Sierra St. Kitchen.
Excellent food in quality, flavor and presentation. However, it’s expensive for small portions. Would recommend with a caveat...
Outstanding in every way! This is a small venue, about 14 tables, so make reservations.
The small plate menu is very diverse and so delicious! Located downtown just north of the river walk.
Absolutely our favorite restaurant.
This was our first visit. Everything was perfect. Amazing cocktails and food. Will definetly go back.
Great food and service. This was the second time we ate here. Food is innovative and changes with the seasons. Our calamari steak was wonderfully soft and tasty. We also ate the mini burgers, steamed clams.
Wow!! First time here, will be back when in town. Vanessa was our server, she was wonderful, love it when the server can say they’ve eaten just about everything on the menu and it’s all good you know u pick the right restaurant. It’s small plates to share and perfect for 2 so go hungry and eat but safe room for dessert. We started with a beet salad no lettuce I knew that already from a previous review so I ordered the house salad and shared with beet eater, wonderful. Then we had the ahi nachos it was good but bigger than I was thinking so unless you have 3 or more people this dish might be too big for 2, then we had the meatballs with polenta needed more polenta for sure soo good. Cocktails are good (full bar), on to the thin sliced beef filet the sauce was so good, the scallops well let me say we cleaned our plates like I said the portions are perfect for 2 then dessert bananas foster, pretty small so if you have room get 2 desserts can’t go wrong and for sure might want to make reservations not a big place but a perfect place, window seats, bar seating. A perfect downtown location by the theatre, parking garage and the river to stroll after dinner. Thank you Sierra Street kitchen made our date night perfect!! Thank you Vanessa hope all is well with your new puppy!!
Very good food and service
This has become one of our "go to" restaurants. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, and makes you feel welcomed and at home as soon as you walk in. We had 5 for dinner -seated by the window, just as we requested. I love their goat cheese and beet salad, although it doesn't have enough "salad" for me. Several times I have asked for a house salad and goat/beet salad on the same plate and that is the perfect salad for me! We also had the tomato Caprese salad, bruschetta, ahi nachos, crab cakes, filet mignon, scallops and lamb chops! All were beautifully presented and delicious, although the filet was not the most tender I've had. The risotto with both the scallops and the lamb was really good, as was the spinach and potatoes the filet sat on. No dessert, but I did have a cappuccino. The steamed foam was excellent, but the coffee itself was really weak (I've had a cappuccino there before and it was good) . All in all, we had a fabulous meal and will continue to go back.
My husband and I decided to try Sierra St. Kitchen because we wanted sangria and tapas, and it was recommended on Yelp. Unfortunately, the sangria was terrible, but the food was fantastic! The place was packed when we showed up, but we had reserved a table so were seated right away. The service was fast and every single small plate we ordered was a flavor experience. Loved the bacon wrapped dates the best! We'll be back!
Excellent food! I normally don't like the tapas format of dining, but I going this to be great. Will learn for more.
Service and food are equally outstanding. Enjoyed the small plates so we could try more delicious offerings.
A birthday dinner with friends. We tried literally half the menu and shared it all. All the food was absolutely seasoned perfectly ad was over the top delicious! Excellent service and a cozy ambiance. A hidden Reno gem! Will definitely go again!
Introduced my friend to SSK before heading to the theatre. Excellent cuisine and beverage, as always, except for the steamed clams which were gritty and mealy. Waitstaff took care of that right away. My friend remarked that dining at SSK is like being in another city or country, for that matter. Consistently good food and great service.
