My husband and I had an amazing time at Siena Tavern. We were there for an early dinner before a concert at The Chicago Theater. We dined from the Happy Hour menu. I had an Espresso Martini to start (yummy!) and my husband ordered the Sicilian Old Fashioned, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The arancini, the classic bruschetta, and the mini tavern burgers and sea bass Milanese sliders were absolutely delicious! Truly perfection! Our server, Neima, was wonderful. She was kind, friendly, attentive, and the white wine she suggested (when I asked her) was wonderful. It was such a relaxing meal, and Neima helped to make it that way. She in no way hurried us, which allowed us to completely enjoy our dining experience. We will ask for her the next time we go there!

We are regulars at Siena Tavern on Sunday afternoons and the food and wait staff service are the prime reasons we return. The gnocchi and cacio pepe are excellent as are the pizzas and brunch. The one spot where Siena Tavern could improve is at the host stand. On Sunday afternoons, no host is ever present -- and we have waited for up to 15 minutes for someone to greet us. The wait staff is properly focused on their tables so they don't have time to greet and seat. And there's not a manager anywhere within sight. If this happened just once, I'd guess the host needed a bathroom break, but it happens every Sunday afternoon. So, this is an opportunity for Siena to improve -- and we are hopeful that they do.

We enjoyed a delicious brunch with expert service by Theodora! We loved the octopus appetizer, Brussel sprout salad and rigatoni ala vodka. The mimosas were delicious. We will return next time we come to Chicago.
