About Siena Tavern
A polished and energetic restaurant with Italian and Mediterranean cuisine curated by DineAmic Group's Chef/Partner, Fabio Viviani, also commonly known for his Celebrity Chef accolade as Bravo's "Top Chef Fan Favorite." The décor reflects a hybrid of a rustic Italian market, a fine dining restaurant and a modern, industrial tavern, bridging old world comfort and hospitality with a contemporary menu and design. When setting foot into this 10,000-square-foot eatery for lunch, dinner, late night cocktails or weekend brunch, you can expect to taste the same "from-scratch" Italian cooking fundamentals in pastas, pizzas, mozzarellas, gelato and everything between.

Siena Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We had a rez for 8:15 on Sunday night. It was a special occasion and we booked Siena Tavern as it came highly recommended by many of our friends. The restaurant was not crowded yet the wait staff seemed a little frazzled. We waited a long time before the waiter came for our drink orders and we did not get our drinks until 50 minutes after being seated. The waiter had a very canned schpeel to the point of repeating himself and just seemed checked out and ready to go home. This was an important night for our family and too expensive of a meal to get sub-par service. The food was very good. We requested take away for our leftovers of which we only got 2 of the 3 dishes in the bag but did not realize that until after we got back to the hotel. Didn't think I would have to check their work. Honestly, good service makes or breaks an experience and I was just so disappointed.
Although the food wasn't incredible, it was above average. The most impressive part of our dining experience was the service. We went in for Sunday brunch and had a 10:00 reservation. We waited a few minutes to be seated, and then waited around 5 minutes to be seen. We thought the service was very fast, especially since we were one of the first tables. However, the manager came up to us after we ordered and apologized for the wait and offered to comp a dessert. We waited no more than 5 minutes. We declined his offer because although it was very generous, we did not think we deserved anything for free because we didn't have any problems with the service, and I probably would have given them 5 stars regardless because I didn't think we waited at all! 5 stars for the service.
This was the second time I have had a bad meal there. This time it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. I told the server that I needed to be dairy and chocolate free. I originally ordered waffles. After waiting awhile the server came out and told me that the chef burned them and it would be awhile longer. When it finally came the chocolate was front and center. I then said let's try something different and ordered the breakfast skillet which was all vegetables. When it came out it was covered with cheese. I guess they thought cheese was not a dairy product. By this time my friend finished their meal and I figured three failures was enough. I told them to forget my food and I would never return. The manager did comp my friends food (a lot of good that did me). Since was the second time I or someone in my party had left without eating, I have concluded that a once very good restaurant had deteriorated beyond repair. Don't waste your money there. There are too many other places to eat.
I stumbled across Fabio Viviani on a yahoo 3 ingredient pasta meal. My gf and I have been big fans of his videos and a few of meals we’ve tried to replicate from his videos or recipe books. While traveling to Chicago for a convention we made a point of visiting one of Fabio’s restaurants. We were not disappointed in any way. Our waiter was very friendly describing the restaurant food and specials. My gf had the salmon and I tried the Diavolo Chicken. Every bite was filled with flavor and perfectly done. Well worth the trip. Can’t wait to try again.
The food was delicious as well as the hand crafted cocktails. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. She helpfully offered dishes that accommodated the various food allergies at our table. Gluten - shellfish - dairy. We were a tough bunch... The sommelier paired our meals perfectly. Highly recommend and would happily return.
One of my very favorite places in Chicago! Fantastic location!! Siena Tavern is a great place to get together with friends or family. There is a fun “vibe”, the food is delicious and there’s a wonderful variety of menu items - something for everyone . The staff is friendly and the service is always excellent. The bar is also perfect to enjoy drinks & food while watching a game. Siena Tavern is one of those places you can always count on for tasty food, drinks & fun!
I have eaten at Siena Tavern on several occasions and it never disappoints.
I met friends for lunch and we shared the Meatball appetizer. A must. It was tender, delicious and very flavorful. Then we shared two pasta dishes—butternut squash filled pasta and the porcini mushroom pasta. The homemade pasta was delicate and tender. The seasonal butternut squash was balanced in sweetness and the sauce was a perfect. The porchini pasta was loaded with mushrooms and savory. These dishes were filling, delicious and flavorful. If you want straight up homemade Italian at its best, Siena Tavern is the place to go.
All good! I take my husband out every week for Sunday Brunch and always on the lookout for a new place to add to the favorites rotation---Sienna fits the bill.
From beginning to end, the table (corner by a window), the service (Natalie is great!, thank you Natalie!) the do-it-yourself-mimosa kit and the very delicious food offerings were just right. My husband had the eggs Benedict and I, the root veggie skillet with the eggs top. We enjoyed it all immensely.
Being new to town, In a city with lots of choices like Chicago you tend to kiss lots of frogs before finding a place you can't wait to come back to...
See you soon!
Another great meal at Siena Tavern. Husband just ran the Chicago Marathon and we knew this is where we wanted to celebrate. Drink favorite is the #10, like an Old Fashion but better. Brick chicken was fantastic and prepared in such a way that the bones are removed for serving. Short rib ravioli have so much great meat filling. Always have a great time at Siena
Siena is a lovely looking restaurant. We were there at an off hour and so it was quiet but I hear that it gets pretty crowded! Our server was fantastic. The food was good. We shared a harvest salad, a pizza and the pasta bolognese. They were all good but I wouldn't rave. I'm an Italian-American and from New York City so I'm guessing that city to city, things vary. Everything was good and solid but I've had better. Not to say I wouldn't return if I were in Chicago - it's a nice place! We were given a complimentary birthday goodie, birthday cake smashed up in a little ice cream - really excellent (something I would normally frown at!)
