Siena Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We made reservations for a group of 15. We were informed by Melissa, the manager , when we arrived that we were not able to be seated together. Fine, then you shouldn't open yourself to large groups if you can't accommodate them. We were seated, informed our server that two children in our party have peanut and tree nut allergies and order beverages. We also state we would like to order straight away as the kids are very hungry. He left with our drink order and didn't return until 15- 20 minutes later, & upon delivering a water to one of the kids with an allergy making the comment "and here is your special peanut water". We were unaware of the comment until much later, or we would have addressed it right then. We ordered immediately and reiterated how hungry the kids were - lunch took an HOUR to arrive. Our waiter busied himself around the restaurant during that time, studiously avoiding our attempts to get his attention. When lunch finally begins to stagger out, the kids meals were last to arrive. At the end of our meal our waiter issued a halfhearted apology and announced they were sending over a dessert "on the house". The manager then came over to help deliver said dessert, and issued a very quick "sorry for your wait" and was gone. The dessert? Sloppily quartered pieces of tiramisu - WHO DOES THAT?! Ridiculous. You have lost our business at both Siena & Tavalino
I made a 130 reservation for 6 on a rainy day on cape cod at about 115 using open table. I wasn't surprised in the least to find that we had to wait 30 minutes when we got there. We were treated to a fresh plate of fried calamari for our "trouble." We explained to the waitress that we had a 3pm booking at escape games/riddle room around the corner and could not have been more gracious! This was my sons 15th birthday party and it could have been disastrous but their hospitality and professionalism far exceeded my expectations! Oh, and the food was delicious!!!
We ate here for the second time and found it once again to be very good. The service the first time was not really good, however this time it was exceptional. Everyone found the food to be good, but my two daughters both ordered a special salad and felt it was much smaller than the last time they had it. A couple of us ordered the chicken parm small plate and the presentation really made it look small. I would suggest they think about putting it on a larger plate with a little more pasta since they charged $16.95 for one piece of chicken and a little pasta.
We would give this another try since we really like the outside seating.
Was disappointed that 4 wines that I chose to have were no available to us
Every wine was "out" - 4 of them!
So we all frank something else
The mussels were tough
Pizza was great
Power salad great
2 friends had dish they said they wouldn't get again
Disappointed - Monday night had been there and was great !
I requested a table downstairs and when we arrived, they were going to bring us upstairs. We ended up sitting downstairs. Our waitress came right over to us, but we waited way to long for food. This is a management problem that should have been anticipated for a Saturday night. Again, we do not blame the waitress
Service was attentive and exceptionally good. The artichoke appetizer was a standout!!! Also the Bolognese sauce was authentic. I think it's a great pizza salad burger place before or after the movies, which are located next door. As far as real Italian, there are better options. But, again, service is exceptional and attentive. Drinks were great. And Kudos on the Bolognese, which can often be unimaginative. Please go for the artichoke appetizer- never had anything like it. You will like it, I promise. Very pleasant outside before a movie. For this it gets a 5 star. For an Italian food destination it's a 3+.
We love the pizzas at Siena. They cook them perfectly so the crust comes out crispy, never soggy even with a topping with lots of ingredients. We ate at the bar and we're served by 2 great bartenders. We also had one of the best Caesar salads ever. Very fresh romaine, very lightly dressed, and white anchovies. Excellent meal and a great dining experience.
Visited Siena for Mother's Day dinner. Made reservation through OpenTable and our table was ready when we arrived. Service was prompt and attentive. Food was good; asparagus spears came with my filet mignon, they were thick spears and slightly undercooked. But, otherwise, everything was fantastic. The rosemary parmesan fries appetizer was delicious.
We went for pizza and some wine and enjoyed both. We had the Bolonese pizza and the sauce was delicious. The breaded artichokes are what will draw us back again because they were heavenly! Service was prompt , cordial, and unobtrusive. The dining room was a little loud but we were expecting that because they draw a house sized crowd.
Our waitress warned us that the lobster special was running low, but she came back to our table twice before telling us it was gone; we wished she had come back sooner. On the other hand, the dish my husband chose instead was excellent.
We have been to Siena many times, for all that is really noisy, but we've always been happy with the food.
Only make a reservation if you want to go to a restaurant that honors your reservation always on time, has great service, a friendly staff, well though out menu, good drinks and reasonable prices. I may have missed some others, but you csn add those.
