I was torn between a more popular Italian restaurant with surprisingly better reviews and decided to go with Sienna instead. I did end up also eating at the more popular Italian restaurant and hands down Sienna was much better both in food quality and ambiance. The service and noise level was equal at both places.
The restaurant was loud and packed. Set brunch menu with sloppy greasy food. I think people come on weekends for the bottomless brunch scene so it's a young crowd.
Great value for brunch!! Had bottomless cocktails (for 90 minutes) a breakfast entree and side for $30. The food was great and the cocktail refills came frequently I would go back
The service and food were amazing! We arrived a little before opening and they were very accommodating and patient. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is so delicious and presented perfectly. Highly recommend the baked French toast! They played holiday music in the background which was great.
Food is very good and reasonably priced. Veal piccata is excellent. Good value in NYC for good food.
What’s not to like!? We love Siena!
There were rats everywhere. Had to leave after one made it's way behind me in the plants. My guest & I were seated outside.
There were other guests seated outside shouting rat sightings as well.
Everything was perfect! The food was delicious and the staff was super kind and helpful.
Honestly wildly disappointing. I'd eaten here a few times and had good experiences so I picked this as my "Pasta Dinner" spot the night before the NYC marathon to have dinner with my family. Fro the second we got there it was an absolute mess. We had a reservation for 7pm and didn't get seated until 7:30. We heard others complaining about how they had reservations at 6pm, 6:30pm etc., and hadn't been seated yet either. Once we finally got to our table, we sat there patiently for 10 minutes before having to ASK someone for menus. The only time we could get attention from a waitress or any one we had to ask for it. Our waitress was lovely when she was at our table but it was clear they were WILDLY understaffed or undertrained. When the food came out, some of the orders were wrong and then two of the "protein" dishes had like one piece of chicken or one piece of shrimp or sausage in it. Truly disappointing all around, especially on a night that was supposed to be celebratory. I will not be going back.
Loved it - big surprise on UES!
The food was delicious and well priced, the service was quick, and the servers were lovely. Will definitely be returning soon!
Everything was good - but perhaps because business is coming back service was a little slow at times. But we didn't mind and it certainly didn't affect our enjoyment of the occasion!
Excellent service delicious food at reasonable price
Shrimp was over cooked, gnocchi very bland
Great vibe. Good food.
Siena is a pretty, pleasant place with an extensive outdoor space and they try hard. However, the inside dining front of the house is understaffed resulting in a long wait to order. Also, a dish described as having prosciutto and eggplant had neither but since this was a birthday party no one complained. On the plus side, prices seem reasonable by current NYC standards. The music is too loud. So, go and enjoy but make sure the server understands the order.
Excellent brunch—food, value, and service were all perfect! Bottomless brunch deal is well worth it
Nice staff and delicious food!
Looks like everyone has discovered all that Siena Café has to offer: great happy hour choices in food and drink at reasonable prices; the dinner menu has great dishes at a variety of prices. The down side is that now it's packed with happy revelers who get louder and louder as it gets closer to the 7pm happy hour finish line approaches. Bring ear plugs or join in the excitement at the bar. For a quieter cozier experience the dinning room in the back is ideal. The dinner menu has plenty of offerings with a variety of prices and dietary wants. We've been very happy with all that we have ordered and tried.
Good food & nice ambiance
We had a girl’s night out and it ended up a rainy night. No problem: Siena’s outdoor dining is both separate private tables unprotected by a canopy as well as a beautiful little hut, enclosed and protected by with lots of open spaces to let fresh air in (what’s the point of outdoor dining if they’ve built an enclosed space, with no ventilation in the time of a pandemic!). I’ve been here before and it’s consistently lovely ambiance, great service, delicious food, reasonable prices. What more could you want!
Very good service despite it being incredibly busy. Waitress checked in with us regularly.
We love this place and have been there many times but this time was so disappointing. My meal was awful. I had shrimp calamari and black fettuccine. The fish was tough. The sauce was sour tasting. The others with us thought theirs was just ok. I’m thinking it was just a bad night
Great time! Great staff! Ask for Cash! She's wonderful
Nice selection. Happy hour wine and beer. Good Italian food at reasonable prices
Great - as always!
Server spilled sparkling water all over my purse. No apologies. We felt very rushed despite the place being very slow. Very disappointing.
Great service and the food was delicious! The staff were very accommodating to our seating request.
Food and service were exemplary as always; our table was perfect.
Good food, really nice, helpful, efficient staff
The chicken in the chicken sandwich was tender and delicious. It came with a side salad that was not small as it usually is.
We seem to have had the opposite experience of many recent diners. We were greeted warmly and had prompt and courteous service. We found the outside area very comfortable, with well-spaced tables, cheery greenery and unobtrusive safety partitions. But the food was horrible, as if no one in the kitchen knew how to cook at all. The pasta was flavorless and pasty, the chicken was dry, and the vegetables were watery. And as many have mentioned, there's no bread or breadsticks for the table, so there was nothing to keep us going. I really want to see our neighborhood restaurants succeed in this challenging atmosphere, but sadly I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience. Food came out cold after waiting for over 45 minutes for it. Had a waiter take our drink orders but then disappeared. The hostess eventually took our order. We asked to speak with the manager who eventually came to our table 15 minutes later. Apologized, said the kitchen had a lot of orders at the same time although the restaurant did not look that crowded. He did take some of our entrees off of the bill . All they really needed to do was keep us informed which they failed at miserably. Hopefully, this was an oddity.
We simply love Siena, and more than appreciate its friendly staff and tasty food - this is a neighborhood gem!
Excellent brunch! Excellent food & service. Good value.
