This is easily one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh, if not THE best.
Don’t be put off by the name — it’s not a Spanish restaurant. The menu is ever-changing, always interesting,
We have never tried a dish that wasn’t excellent and unique. Friendly, knowledgeable service,
reasonably priced wine, fabulous cocktails, and warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I don’t usually write reviews.
This is my fourth or fifth time at Siempre Algo and all have been wonderful experiences, but my latest visit was superb. Interesting menu with fresh, seasonal ingredients at their peak. We tried a number of dishes and shared and all were delicious (the peach, arugula and goat cheese salad was especially amazing). Attentive and impeccable service. Overall one of the best dining experiences I've had.
Loved the food and ambiance and the throw back music (‘80s sounds on the night we went).
Hard to hear table conversations at times but overall a great add to the North side!
Pretty good overall. The service is excellent. The food is very good, although it could be even better. I had the soft shell crab. I didn't expect it to be fried and would have probably been better grilled.
Our waiter was great. The noise level can be a bit high.
While traveling to Pittsburgh for a long weekend we accidentally discovered this neighborhood gem. Don't miss it, don't even consider it, go there. Every single item that we sampled on the menu from soup to nuts was carried out with an utmost concern for quality, a genuine love for food, and our server Kristen with a K! Was a true sweetheart!
We had a sensational meal... everything was very good....the waitress very knowledgeable..what a great new find
Celebrating the end of a very long day, we were welcomed—with a splash of bubbly—into a warm and inviting room. Friendly and helpful service, an exciting menu, great wines by the glass. I could easily have grazed my way through the appetizer menu and be happy as a clam. That being said, we had the asparagus and deviled eggs and both struggled to share our plate. For mains, the trout was perfectly done with crispy skin and a delightfully light sauce. Soft shell crab was also stellar.
We had a late dinner at this phenomenal new restaurant on the Northside. Beautiful decor and delicious food! Chef Brian is doing incredible things here! The deviled eggs with fois gras, truffle, mustard and spices were a great start. Followed by the warmed spring asparagus with its charred acidic lemony ramp fresh barrata goodness which showed it off in all its glory! Our shared entree was a take on chicken and dumplings with the chicken being perfectly crusted and moist inside in a broth that had incredible depth which lifted the garlic ramp dumplings to even higher lightness and brightness! Great drinks, service and a perfect just sweet and tart enough rhubarb berry galette with tangy buttermilk ice cream rounded out a perfect meal! #droolworthy #gaygourmands
We loved our experience from apps to dessert. 4 of us and every plate was “cleaned”. Very knowledgeable and attentive server. A little too noisy for the 4 top to hear the specials though. Drinks were great!!
The food is exquisite and the menu varied. A complementary glass of bubbles is a nice touch. The staff is very attentive.
Incredible experience. Great service, greeted by the server with a complimentary glass of champagne.
Wonderful dinner. The server was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the eggplant tort and the trout.
Great service and food. Welcome drink unexpected but very welcomed. Some little things make a big difference. Burrata and asparagus was so good.
This was our second visit to the restaurant. We left before dessert because it was obscenely loud. The food and service were good and we will not return.
Great Food. We will be back again. Server was really good with pairing wine.
The restaurant was clean and beautiful. We were treated so well, and the food was delicious!! I will spread the word about Siempre Algo, and definitely come back.
We liked the welcome bubbles...nice touch. We had a pretzel and some devilled eggs that were both delicious. There were 6 of us who had steak, pasta, and soft shell crabs; all were very flavorful. The hostess and our server were so friendly and attentive.
Love the food, hate the noise level. They really must do something to dampen the noise. Shouting across the table is not my idea of an excellent meal.
Absolutely delicious food, warm reception, and great service. Servers were so knowledgeable about everything on the menu.
We had a great experience at Siempre Algo. All of the staff we interacted with were pleasant. They also went out of their way to inquire about food allergies and make sure the food we ordered did not contain any of the allegens. (The food was also perfectly prepared and delicious!)
Siempre Algo was an amazing experience. The food was incredible, the cocktails were amazing, and the ambience was perfect. I loved the open kitchen seeing the chefs at work. The decor is beautiful, it really ties the whole restaurant together. I will definitely be back.
From the beginning to end all was wonderful. Pate with pretzels? Fun and delicious. Trout was amazing. Service superior all around.
Really nice addition to the North Side. Beef Tartare and Crab app both very generous. Vegetarian Tart just okay, nothing special. Monk fish very good entree as well as the chicken. Definitely will be back!
Very good food, ambiance, and service! A little bit of a sketch neighborhood, but hopefully great and promising businesses like this can bring this neighborhood up
So flavorful and creative. Open kitchen fun to watch and dining room ambiance delightful.
Food. Awesome. Service. Very friendly. Will be back
Siempre Algo exceeded our expectations. We wanted to try a new place, and the menu looked good if not necessarily distinct from other "New American" menus around town. That may be true, but it was in execution and service that Siempre Algo distinguished itself. Our server (Kristen?) was top-notch--hitting just the right balance of attentive, friendly, and funny without being intrusive. From the start of the dinner when she brought out our complimentary bubbly plus a nonalcoholic alternative for our non-drinking friend, we never lacked for beverages, and never found ourselves looking around for her when we were ready to order another round, the next course, etc. The space was open with nice distance between the tables and a good view of the open kitchen. And the food delivered...course after course was generally portioned and full of flavor. It was all good, but standouts included the pretzels + pate, crab dip, asparagus (a knockout), sweetbreads, lentil salad, and monkfish. When the pretzels ran out with plenty of pate left, Kristen brought us multiple rounds of crostini until the pate was finished. The duck was the only thing that didn't quite measure up--cooked perfectly, but the preparation was a bit one-note and lacked the popping flavors and contrasting textures that the other dishes offered. One of our best dining experiences in many months!
Although I didn’t have an entree, we ordered multiple 1st and 2nd courses. The standouts for me were the cerviche, tartare and the blue crab dip. Loved the staff and the owner. Highly recommended. Cant wait to go back.
Excellent newcomer to Pittsburgh. Bistro atmosphere. A welcoming 2 oz. glass of bubbly is complimentary. Eclectic, well-executed menu, including devilled eggs with foie gras, sweetbreads, monkfish...things not frequently found on local menus. Decent wine list. Service was attentive. Music was NOT deafening. (Thank you, thank you) Good value. We’ll return soon.
best restaurant in Pittsburgh, don’t miss it
Will, as always, was wonderful. He updated us on what was new and knowledgeably suggested a wine to go with our dish, and he was spot on! I love this place.
The cocktails and wine are good. The asparagus dish was very good. The monk fish entree had virtually no flavor and the fish was dry. The scallops were good.
Tremendous food and great service. Some of the best scallops we ever had. Beef tartare was excellent and be sure to try desert. A great experience in a cozy space.
Excellent food and service.
The back ground music is loud and in appropriate for fine dining
Food didn't seem as excellent as previous visits. Scallops over salted. Sweetbreads not as succulent. Cocktail list not as exciting. Scallops quenelles listed on line menu but not available on paper menu for 2nd time. We will return to try the summer menu.
Delicious food and the wait staff was excellent
Thank you for the positive feedback! We look forward to your next visit !
This is a neighborhood treasure and should be a destination for everyone that enjoys thoughtfully constructed dishes, fun and friendly service in a well designed space. I have eaten here several times and the experience has been consistently great.
Took my parents here who were visiting from out of town and it was a wonderful experience. Great food, great service. Would highly recommend to others
terrific restaurant. !!! The food was DELICIOUS and the chef served us our meals. Great new spot. !
Really nice dinner on the north side. Good service and a good vibe. Cool starter of homemade pretzels with Dijon mustard. Sweetbreads as a small plate were wonderful. Few place serve sweetbreads as there's a ton of prep but these guys do it well. Monkfish with potato pancake and squash. Duck with creamy faro and asparagus was really well prepared. Super chocolate mousse. Why can't more spots do this quality of food and service at a reasonable price point?
