Sicilia Mia - Downtown
The best atmosphere and service. The food was beyond delicious
Great food and a very knowledgeable staff. Our server Juan did a great job helping us make some really good selections from the menu. Will definitely be back.
Best authentic Italian food in SLC!
I have been wanting to try this place out for a while. With my boyfriend getting a promotion at his work, I thought what a great place to go and celebrate. We made a reservation at 5:00pm and were promptly seated. We were the very first table there considering that it’s the time they opened. It took 20 minutes for out server to greet us. She wasn’t wearing the the same clothes as the other servers were wearing which I thought was kind of odd. She hands us our menu and being that we had never been there we asked her what her recommendations was.. she responds with “well what do you want?” She proceeds to basically read the menu to us. You could tell she didn’t really know anything on the menu. She tells us that “everything here is good”. “Our chef is a real Sicilian, with an accent and everything”. and my favorite “We get our groceries from Harmons!” We had ordered drinks that took 20 minutes to get to the table. She was probably the most awkward server I have come across. They brought us our appetizer which was actually pretty tasty, but our main course took forever to get to us. Considering we were the very first table there, I have no idea what the hold up was. They finally bring us our main course, and our bread basket (which I’m guessing should of been brought us when we were first seated) which was plain to see that had been sitting under the hot plate for a while. The noodles were cold but of course we didn’t have a chance to say anything because our server was nowhere to be found. Our plates were cleared by other servers and our waters were filled by who I’m guessing was the GM. I was so let down by this especially just listening to other servers talking to their tables describing the menu in great detail and providing such a different experience. Completely let down by this restaurant that I was so excited to try out :(
Great dinner! Our waiter Claudio was great!
This is an excellent restaurant with high quality food and service
Waiter went out of his way to have chef make something lovely that was not on the menu. Only objection is that he was overly familiar and too “touchy “.
The food is fantastic, but my husband and I were on a date and sat between two large parties of 6 to 10 people. Although, we had a reservation, we were sat a the back of the restaurant near the kitchen with full blown lighting. It was extremely loud and not a very romantic atmosphere.
We did not get offered bread while we waited and our salad came out at the same time as our entree so we felt rushed with the salad because the entree we were told "had to get off the line". This is the second time we have gone there and have had a similar experience.
We were a party of 5, when we arrived our table was ready but they made us wait almost 30 minutes to be seated. We waited an excessive amount of time between our appetizers and main course, only to have one meal cold. The make up dish took 5 minutes, so we were confused was to why the other dishes took so long. Flavors were great, the pappadell w/mushroom sauce could have use more sauce and to cook the pasta a little longer, the mushrooms ravioli- fantastic as was the bolanise.
The food was literally out of this world. I have already started recommending it to my family and friends. I don’t know if I will visit the Salt Lake location again. It seemed as though they didn’t have enough servers for the customer volume. I felt we were often forgotten and our drinks were often empty. The service was my only complaint. Because I felt like we were paying a higher price for a more luxury type of dining. Never was the food was Amazing
We had the most wonderful experience. It was my sons 18th birthday and the food was wonderful and the service was beyond exceptional !!!!
Sicilia Mia is our favorite local Italian restaurant. The food is exceptional. The staff is so attentive and courteous. I highly recommend the gnocchi al pistachio.
We went to this restaurant for lunch to celebrate Boss' Day and it was perfect. Wonderful food and the coffee is delicious!
An incredible experience. The service was outstanding, the food excellent and the atmosphere was perfect. This is one of my favorite places to go.
I’ve enjoyed Sicilia Mia every time we go. Food is always wonderful, good selection of drinks, service has always been impeccable! We had Claudio this time and he went above and beyond for us. We closed the place down! Always a great experience!
Great food and atmosphere. Spaghetti Carbonara was incredible. No pizza at this location which was disappointing as it was listed in the online menu. I prefer the food at the Cottonwood location, however the atmosphere here was so nice.
Food was great as always and our server Juan was a lot of fun. He even sang to me for my birthday.
Had a great experience good was delicious!
Loved the food, atmosphere and the service. We had fun and it was a positive experience. The staff and manager were great. We will go back for sure. They make you feel like family.
I don’t get to Salt Lake often, but when I do I try and visit this location. Delicious food, and lots of kind people there to serve to help you have an amazing dinner.
Excellent traditional food!!
Service was excellent!
Fantastic restaurant. The staff were incredible. We will be back.
The food was terrible, tagliatelle ai porcini was like microwave stroganoff, the noodles were over cooked and stuck together. The gnocchi were like mashed potato balls. The caprese salad was the only redeeming item we purchased. We have eaten at the Sicilia Mia east Salt Lake City and really enjoyed it, downtown not so much!
First time at the downtown location, parking is a little harder but overall the food has always been great at all the locations. The staff took a special interest in our 1 year old at the table and she relished in the attention. Sicilia Mia has been the choice of restaurants for birthdays for my wife and myself.
One of the best Italian restaurants in town and, believe me, I tried many. A bit expensive, but a wonderful choice for a special night out. Will be heading back there soon!
It was a good meal but not great. The rice ball appetizer was cold, they ran out of Caesar salad (really???) and the Carbonara was just warm. I think tossing the pasta in the cheese wheel was a neat idea but either the pasta started out too cold or it cooled off in the process. I prefer my meal to be hot.
The food was amazing! Our server had so many tables it was pretty tough to get his attention, our order was wrong, and our ticket had things on it that we didn’t order, which he fixed without a problem. If you are going to order the table pasta then be ready to wait for atleast 20 mins because everyone orders it. Which is not the restaurants fault but a heads up would be nice. We were really excited to eat here and we already knew our check was gonna be big. However, we expected much better service. When your tab is a hundred bucks the service should be amazing.
Our second time at this location and I would rate it 3rd of the 3 locations we have used. I thought the Cottonwood Heights location has the best food and the Millcreek location has the best ambiance. Really good food served by a wait staff that really know food; not just waiters. This last mean just was not up to par but we will keep going to their valley locations. I think they have the best Italian food in the Salt Lake Area.
We went in on a Monday at 6:30pm only 10 others seated and took 30 minutes to get our appetizers and another 45 min to get our food
Wow! Everything was amazing. We practically licked our plates clean and the service was great all around! A new favorite 😃
I would not recommend. Took us almost one hour to get a drink. They apparently had issued with a bartender.
Great food. Loved the at the table cooking experience.
I took my mom and sister to dinner here right after work at 5:30. The restaurant was empty and we had some of the best service I've ever had. I really enjoyed the food. I've eaten at 2 other Sicilia Mia locations and this one had the best table layout by far. I've always felt a little crowded by other tables in the other locations.
Pro-Tip- Go early if you're going to be part of a bigger group. There are fewer customers and you'll get much better attention from the service staff.
My food was outstanding; my wife's very good. However, Claudio, our waiter was superb, and worth the trip.
Serving unripe tomatoes in August in Utah shows you aren’t using local produce.
Pasta was over cooked.
Out of the wine I chose.
Pans cotta was too firm & strawberry sauce too sweet.
Food needs help. Expensive!
Staff & owner were great. Great service.
We had a great dinner with very friendly service. It never disappoints
We went based on family recommendations. However, we went downtown where none of our family had been. The food was really good, but we weren’t extremely pleased with the service. We walked in 5 minutes before our reservation, and we were sat immediately. However, the waiter mentioned they were running behind and we said no problem. The waiter honestly seemed to be trying to rush us approaching our table multiple times within 5 minutes. They were cleaning up what appeared to be a group event in a back room, and everyone seemed to be involved in that. Once our waiter took our order, we asked for bread and were told it would come out with our meals. It never came out until we finally asked someone else, who brought us some stale bread with no olive oil/vinegar or anything. The saving grace of the evening was great food - albeit small portions, which is generally expected in fine dining circumstances - and they sang happy birthday to my wife in Italian. We believe our semi-negative experience to be based around a very flustered crew and a busy evening, but that should be something a team is ready to handle for a fine dining experience.
Overall the food was good and we had an ok evening.
It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary food was absolutely delicious!
Waite staff was amazing!
