Chinese
Conveniently located across from Lincoln Center and a startling revelation in shiny black lacquer, Shun Lee exudes Asian chic with grand authority.
For haute Chinese cuisine, it’s among New York City’s best. Regional offerings include crispy Grand Marnier prawns with honey walnuts (Canton), braised sea bass in hot bean sauce (Hunan) and shredded beef with leeks and hot peppers (Szechwan). Specialties include beggar’s chicken baked in lotus leaves and clay (requires one day’s notice), Hunan tripe, sweetbreads with black mushrooms and of course, Beijing Duck.

One of my most favorite places to have dinner. Food is always excellent and service is on point.

As usual, the service was wonderful and the food way above par. It was really quiet - there were few people there.

Overcharged me 2 entries 2 beers and 2 appetizers dumplings. Beef with broccoli and general tsao chicken $120.00. Ridiculous. I can get it for $20 at neighborhood take out. The food wasn’t gourmet at all. Wouldn’t recommend

Shun Lee West never disappoints. Great cocktails, Beijing Duck, Grand Marnier Shrimp with broccoli, chicken stir fry and rice. All good. Well presented and served with style. We always return.

I have dined there many times and they never disappoint. Classic Chinese cuisine but unique fare like rack of lamb and leg of lamb. The crispy shrimp balls are a great appetizer.

Having enjoyed Shun Lee West many many times over the years...this was the worst dinner i ever had at the restaurant...every meal was delivered COLD and some were sent back to be reheated...and this was at 5pm when the restaurant was not yet crowded...will be a while before i return...

Food was very good and exactly what I wanted, still a bit pricey though. Wine was NOT good. I was surprised that a place so close to Lincoln Center was so quiet post theater and we were definitely a bit rushed. Would go back earlier in the evening but would go elsewhere for post theater eating.

Very bad service and uncaring servers. Have gone there for years and the other night was awful. They served a spring roll cut up and looking like it came from the other part of the restaurant. I sent it back and then they brought out the correct thing. Horrible!

This is a rare find: a relatively quiet and elegant restaurant whose prices aren't over the top -- especially rare so near Lincoln Center. Service is excellent: attentive, not overbearing.

Their Peking duck is delicious; though not sliced at the table, they prepare the pancakes there. The other places I've had good Peking duck are very noisy and, though they give more food, it's too much, and portions here are just right. We had dessert and it was too much food. Their lychee gimlet was light and delicious, too. Highly recommended. For less formal eats, try their cafe in the front of the same building.

The food was awful. Chow fun noodles were greasy. Beijing duck tasted old and leftover and the leg and wing were deep fried .
Not the Shun Lee of old. Their menu is ridiculously overpriced for poor quality Chinese food. You can get better at local takeout for half the price. Also the restaurant rugs and bathroom were dirty. A total turn-off.

We’ve come here often but this is first time we were disappointed. We had ordered 2 entrees + fried rice but only 1 entree and the rice was brought out. The 2nd entree was delayed for approximately 10-15 minutes. Also the entrees were not as good as usual. On a positive note, however, we did love the steamed vegetable dumplings.
