Shun Lee Palace
Good food, efficient service (but waiter should learn to smile and be cordial), but a little pricy.
Good food, nice place. Somehow servers are chaotic tonight. Not the usual you expect from Shun Lee. And not acceptable if you have to tip both captain and waiters.
It was such a bad experience that after 30 years I will not go back. It was terrible.
Everybody from the host to the waiter to the captain were top shelf.
Great food. Still come back to nyc for Chinese!
The experience was amazing from the service to the food and the atmosphere. My wife and I heard about this place from my cousin who lives in NYC. From the initial “hello” we enjoyed our experience. We had won ton soup, egg rolls, Ants on a Tree and Beef with Broccoli. All the food was great and the Cocktails were strong but good. Overall fantastic experience and would recommend this place to anyone. Each dish is about $22-25 dollars so reasonable price for NYC.
Poorly trained servers. They rush you to finish your meal.you would expect a lot more given the prices.
Labor Day, kitchen was unbelievably slow. If they had no staff they should have closed.
Good food. Good service. We always enjoy ourselves there.
Really a disappointment...most meals were served cold...service erratic...bill included a meal we did not ordered...all tables around ours had issues with their orders...all in all, not a nice experience ....won’t come back
Food is always excellent and service is top notch.
If you want something that is not on the menu, they will always strive to accommodate your request.
Lovely atmosphere with attentive service. They will spice your food to your taste and make your meal into a memorable experience!
The foods are very Authenticate: looks good, smells good and tastes great! Upscale food quality and services. Our family enjoyed the dinner and experience there.
The waiter, Peter, was fantastic. We had to slippery chicken and
Sichuan crispy beef and it was magnificent!
Sweet sour pork awful
Brown rice was inedible and service was TERRIBLE. This is not the restaurant it used to be.
Utter rubbish food for ridiculous prices. I know it's not real Chinese food - more like American Chinese food but the very least these idiots can do is give you quality ingredients. Which they don't. It's supermarket grade stuff and then dealt with in the kitchen in the most unskilled manner.
Food was excellent, service efficient but not friendly.
My family used to love Shun Lee although we never ate in midtown. Tried it for Restaurant Week and we were all, sadly, disappointed. The appetizer was tiny - 2 tiny scallops and entrees were not good. Grand Marnier prawns were swimming in a very heavy cream sauce. Spicy chicken came out looking like over fried chicken nuggets. Only dish worthwhile was the crispy spicy beef. Perhaps it was because it was restaurant week but if we come back we'll only go to the one near Lincoln Center.
this place has become a real rip off - they make you buy a whole duck - because they want you to spend 100.00 - this will be the last time - we ever go there - the service sucks - and they look to charge you for things you don't want - NEVER AGAIN
and they even REFUSE TO GIVE ME POINTS FOR MY RESERVATIONS - WITH 350.00 BILL
Too much sugar in all your dishes. My friend got sick after the dinner.
Great food! Great service! Lisa took great care of us!
Has totally gone downhill.
The whole sea bass was overcooked , over-sauced, and over-priced.
Would not recommend it and would definitely not go back.
I just to go there all the time when I was in New York. I’m in New York regularly. This is the second time in a row that it was just ok. I don’t think I would go back anytime soon. This use to be one if the best Chinese restaurants in New York. Please improve!
Beautiful atmosphere! Great service. David took amazing care of us! Quality and variety of food is fantastic! Can't wait to visit New York again to eat here.
Had a blast at my fav chinese in the city
Amazing service! We tried the Restaurant Week menu and it was delicious.
Great fresh food. They make the crispy noodles daily.
Very attentive and helpful with menu selection. Dishes were very tasty.
Best Chinese restaurant in New York City. First rate, classic Chinese cooking. Wonderful staff that knows how to serve in a fine restaurant.
Good food, good service. Nice place. We always enjoy going here.
This time Shun Lee was very disappointed Food was not fresh We ordered from the restaurant week menu and the food was substandard
Casual Chinese dinner sate
Wonderful lunch, great food, lovely service, elegant ambiance.
Obvious that they wanted us out
It was only 9 pm
Please tell your waiters not to hover. We said we would wait until the rest of our party arrived to order the drinks and he bothered us 3 times for drink orders. Also he added the tip by himself onto the bill
(he lost money doing that as we were going to tip more). That does not does not foster a friendly
feeling among customers.
This famous restaurant does not disappoint! Pricey, for sure, but great food and service!
Too heavy sauces on the dishes. Seafood tasted a off and sour. Vegetables were undercook and still tasted raw chinese broccoli. Too much starch on the meats. Service was good but the food really needs to be improve. Menu was too old. Nothing refreshment. Chinese cuisine it’s all about cooking skills and right flavours. Didn’t feel the food was cooked with heart and no presentation at all.
Nothing much to say except excellent on all counts - good, service, quality. Not many restaurants left at this level.
Very disappointing. No one came to see if the dishes were prepared to our liking. The shrimp were fishy, the beef very chewy and 2 of us ended up with upset stomachs.
