   everything was wonderful. We really enjoyed our appetizers and the peeking duck and the service and attention was outstanding. We had a wonderful and a very enjoyable evening and looking forward to coming back soon.

   A great Chinese spot in midtown. We let the waiter order for us and he did a great job. It's a little shabby inside but not in a bad way.

   Unfortunately the restaurant was a disappointment - wall to wall carpet dirty and scratched grayish plates. The white tablecloth had been laundered but a big soy sauce stain remained. Wine ordered was obviously off but was graciously acknowledged and a glass poured from a new bottle. Food was oily and unappetizing. The lighting is awful and the experience made us sad remembering the old days when it was such fun and delicious.

   I love Shun Lee Palace (and Shun Lee West), but this was an extremely disappointing experience. The food was not good at all. The chicken was extremely dry and the shrimp tasted a little old. I have had many, many great meals here -- so I hope this is an aberration -- but we did not enjoy lunch at all.

    Celebrating a friends birthday and the service was absolutely terrific. We couldn’t stop talking about how fresh the food was it was delicious. I definitely will be returning.

    Shun Lee Palace is one of the Classical Chinese restaurants in NYC. Their Pecking Duck is fantastic and the quality of other dishes are just as amazing. We are so happy that they are back from the hiatus of the Pandemic.

    We went to celebrate Chinese new year at Shun Lee because it was featured on NYC restaurant week. No menu was posted on the web site. I called and asked “do you have the restaurant week menu?” And was told yes We sat down and there was a tiny card with a special menu for $90!!! Much more than the advertised $45 meal Service was very slow and we felt a bit deceived. The food was delicious but we would not go back. Did not expect to pay full price.

    Had Lunar New Years Dinner here. There is a prefix menu with the traditional dinner that was $90 per person. It was a fair deal and more than enough food. There was a lot of space in the restaurant but the guests were crowded into one section so we were in very close proximity with other tables to the point where we were bumping into each other if multiple ppl were standing up. Restroom was ok. Fake flower on table top could be removed for table space. Would consider spreading out guests more as it got quite noisy. Would consider returning.

    Have been going to Shun Lee's for over 30 years - on every visit to NY. The service is always top notch as well as the quality of the food. The state of the restaurant is aging however in particular the men's bathroom is quite honestly disgusting having not been cleaned seemingly for a very long time. In any case, it will be on my itinerary for my next NY visit

    The staff are ready to go home at 9pm, so if you make a reservation for dinner you have to be ready to leave 9:00pm. The waiters gather around your table and stare. The food is very good, but they want to go home….

    I’ve been dining at Shun Lee Palace since 1980 and the meals are as exquisite as ever. This is by far, my favorite Chinese restaurant in the City.

    We were in Midtown to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center & visit St Patrick’s. Excellent meal at Shun Lee Palace. Szechuan Boiled Dumplings, Grand Mariner Prawns, General Tso’s Chicken & Young Chow Fried Rice were all great. Always worth the visit.

    Very disappointing-had not eaten there since before Covid-still do take out- and everything had declined. The Beijing duck was not brought out and carved at table and served like it used to be. It was plopped down on table already wrapped-minus the cucumbers- horrible presentation. Dumpling appetizer was brought mid main course. No offer of tea and we had to ask for fortune cookies. The staff was just fair. It used to feel like a special place-now it is quite ordinary.

    It is a very expensive Chinese restaurant. At one point at the top of its game. That being said it just wasn’t as great as I remembered. The service as always is unhurried and polite but my problem was with the food. The orange beef was tough and chewy The Grand Mariner prawns were a bit soggy. . Young chow rice was bland and not special. I have had better. The saving grace was the scallion pancakes which I defy anyone to find better anywhere in the city Perhaps they had an off night. It has been years since I have been there since they were also closed because of the pandemic. I hope it improves. It would be a shame to see it not return to its former reputation.

    The dining room could use an update and, while it's food is still very good it's not as exceptional as it once was, as others have hoped their game. Still a very good choice for midtown when you don't want typical steak or Italian.

    The appetizer of beef filled buns were a large bun with a teaspoon of unidentifiable beef filling - disappointed. The main of chicken with broccoli was on the small side - my take out Chinese food was better prepared. The ladies’ room was UN cleaned and staff seemed short. Our lunch was 12:00 pm on Sunday - we won’t be back.

    Shun Lee’s is a family tradition - we have been making a pilgrimage each year and are hardly disappointed. While the food is still excellent, the service has deteriorated. We had to seek out a waiter to get another round of drinks and waited quite a while for our bill.
