Counter – the traditional sushi counter experience where you are seated in front of the sushi chef and see how your sushi is prepared.
Standard - a table for a more private dining experience.

We craft sushi that is pure, fusion-free and extraordinarily authentic. Expect seasonal, sometimes rare, ingredients on our omakase tasting menus.
Clean, efficient, delicious. Albert and the chefs were very informative and easy going, yet still maintained a very professional atmosphere. Worth the price. Highly recommend.
Excellent food but high price
The sushi is very good. Service is excellent. You get a lot to eat. I don't know if it is worth the price or not, but it is a very nice experience.
Outstanding service and amazing food - a must for dinner!
Great food and great services. But it is an expensive place to visit.
Amazing experience. Personalised service and excellent food. Great for a special occasion. I will definitely be back.
We were fairly late arriving and they accommodated us very kindly so service was fantastic. There are few authentic Japanese spots in the city, so I can understand the attraction. That said, the menu is 2 to 3 times more expensive than it ought to be. Food was good but not as good as Alo and price point is well north. There was a lack of Japanese subtlety that those who have visited Japan would recognize. All dishes were tastey but not as refined as one would hope for at this price point.
My second time coming here. And it has been a great experience again. I brought my colleagues to come and try it and they loved the food and atmosphere. Highly recommend this place.
The staff were incredible but the food was sub par. The sushi was not entirely fresh and the overall experience was okay at best. The place itself is incredible; but for taste and the food itself, don't waste your money. If you want an incredible omakasa sushi experience, I could recommend you to 4 far superior places in Toronto.
Again though, the staff were incredible; but the hero of your experience must always be the food itself... and for that, this place lacks severely.
The food, service, ambience - everything was outstanding. The interactions with both our server and the chefs made for a memorable evening!
The food is relatively good, yet it is pricy.
Exceptional. Some of the best Japanese food I’ve had outside of Japan
Chef Kay was outstanding teacher and artist! Wonderful night with superb succulent sushi! Bravo!
Chose to celebrate my fiance's 30th birthday here, and it was a great experience. Both my fiance and I were feeling a bit intimidated prior to starting our dining experience here - neither of us can claim to be experts or very knowledgable when it comes to sushi. However, the atmosphere created by the staff and the sushi chefs was one that was very welcoming and not at all stuck up as you might expect for a high end establishment. The omakaze menu options were explained thoughtfully to us, and each aspect of each dish was a treat for all the senses - they looked, smelled, and tasted great - and all came with excellent conversation and explanations from our server, Alfred, as well as Chef Kei. Left feeling very satisfied. Was definitely a splurge for us, and we're looking forward to the next time we have an excuse to come back!
Service is consistently outstanding. And food is consistently high quality.
We were seated at the back end of the restaurant where it is somewhat isolated so we did not get as great a Dining environment/ experience as in prior visits. This was disappointing given we were there for a special occasion.
We will absolutely continue to dine there and in future will request seating at the front of the restaurant .
Food- underwhelmed. My sushi rice kept falling apart. Slightly too much wasabi. The pieces of fish were precut, which I found dissatisfied. The best part of our meal was the purple Uni ($50 a piece) and sweet melon ($35 a slice) from the a la carte menu.
I enjoyed Yasu’s sushi more. I won’t be returned.
Everything served here from the fish, meat, rice, down to the seaweed is of the highest quality this is a splurge on quality and taste.
The service was excellent but it was just way over priced.
best ankimo in Canada
zen is much better for value ， and waitress always makes you upgrade meal about $98 ，but they dont tell this extra fee.
Amazing as always
My wife and I went for our Anniversary looking for a wonderful meal. What we got was a truly memorable experience. It would be easy to feel intimidated (and we were) if you are not used to restaurants of this level but the service here was in a class of its own and made us feel comfortable. The servers were attentive, friendly, always present but not intrusive. It was the most personalized service I’ve received. Sitting at the counter was fantastic. Not knowing much about sake, we were guided to find what we would enjoy. The pace of the meal was perfect and well orchestrated. Never had to wait too long nor felt rushed to get through something.
The food itself was simply amazing. As I said, an experience not just a meal. I got to taste things I’ve never had. The sushi was fabulous with the best quality ingredients I’ve had. Fish I’d never had before. So much just melted in my mouth. Beyond the sushi, the food was beautiful. So much attention to detail. You may quail at the price. It’s not cheap and I can’t afford this kind of meal beyond a very special occasion every few years, but it’s something you should do at least once. One of the most memorable nights for us.
Exquisite food and refined service. Truly the best authentic sushi in Toronto
Quite simply an outstanding dining experience. I have eaten at a number of top Japanese restaurants around the world and the food and service at Shoushin compares favourably to any of them.
Was great experience. Top notch service and food. Very expensive but worth it for the occasion. Loved sitting in front of the chef's!
Too expensive for the quality
Went with my boyfriend for date night. Very good tasting menu, great service and atmosphere. It's definitely on the pricey side, but the menu is premium and we enjoyed it a lot.
Words cannot express how outstanding shoushin and Jackie is. Go there or you will regret for the rest of your life.
Not much wow factor and for its price, it could be better.
If you are a fan of Sushi and you want to take your Sushi experience to a higher level you need go to Shoushin
Chef Jackie Lin gave great attention to detail to all of our dishes. Absolutely amazing!
Fantastic restaurant. I enjoyed every minute of it. Amazing fresh food from different parts of the world. Top service. I've been to Japan and this restaurant certainly is a true Japanese experience close by.
I would recommend that you ask for a seat at the corner of the counter....best view of the chefs. They seated us at the far end of the counter so we were not able to really see the chefs preparing the food.
Amazingly experience. Best sushi I have had in my life. Truly unique.
really good dessert, but other things are normal, maybe we didn’t order the right stuff
Shoushin is a refreshing Japanese omakase that is definitely worth the money. Flavours all beautifully orchestrated together in harmony with the components it is served with. My new favourite Japanese in the city and will definitely come back for more. Our server Alfred was amazing, knowledgeable and not intrusive, we very much enjoyed the experience.
Went there for my 16 anniversary. Waiter who serviced us was great! Gave us a lot of info on sake and recommend few choices. Food were tasty and fresh! Chef was fantastic! Will go back for sure!
Our second time here. Service was even better, they obviously checked their notes on customer prefs from our previous visit in order to enhance the dining experience. We had the Kiku menu again, and enjoyed it as much as the first time we dined here.
The premier sushi experience in Toronto, if you want an incredible dining experience for a special occasion than don’t hesitate...just come here and enjoy!
The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. However, the menu price listed on the website was much lower than what we paid, which was not appreciated. We had intended to pay in cash due to being from the States and not wanting any trouble paying with our cards. We almost didn't have enough to pay for our meal and ended up with only a small amount left over for spending elsewhere. If you look at the menu listed on Shoushin's website, please note that it isn't accurate!
