Here at Shokunin we serve traditional omakase styled courses. Omakase is a Japanese phrase that means "I'll leave it up to you”. The chef chooses the fresh fish selection daily and garnishes it into a 11 or 13 course meal. Our mission is to deliver a fine dining experience in a casual environment all at an affordable price. As a disclaimer, we do not sell any kitchen items, such as teriyaki bowls.

We had a party of 5- three of us got the Omakase and two got the seven set hand rolls. For the Omakase, the service was incredibly slow and we couldn’t hear what we were being served. The pieces were absolutely tiny too. Don’t think the person serving was actually a sushi chef. Overall just not worth the price. All seven hand rolls were served at the same time and became soggy, which was weird because we were doing like a 13 course Omakase so there was definitely time to serve them along with everyone else’s pieces. I personally wouldn’t return.

Food wasn’t great. Seaweed wasn’t even chewable on the cut rolls. Miso soup was good.

Small restaurant, great crew, delicious food! I live sushi but had an organ transplant so I am not able to eat raw fish anymore, they were very accommodating and helped me pick out cooked options that were delicious. My wife, who can still eat nigiri and sashimi was very satisfied with the nigiri and sashimi. Will definitely be back again!

My partner and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We did the premium omakase, and Alex was our chef. He was kind and skilled, and it was clear he truly cared about the food he was making. Every piece of sushi he served was excellent in freshness, quality, and flavor. They also had a great selection of sake, and the one we chose paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, it was an amazing experience and well worth the price.

Finally, an upscale Sushi restaurant in Redlands. The fish is the freshest, and every piece is prepared with care and accentuated in the best possible presentation for that fish. Pricey, yes, but oh, so worth it. There are lots of belly, and the Omakase is great. It should be more accessible soon as well—great ambiance and vibe. The focus is on the fish, so no fried rice at this place. You need a reservation. Nice selection of Sake too.

We had the Premium Omakase (13 items) and it was delicious! Our favorite was the smoked albacore with soy mustard sauce. The place is small with some cool features like a fence where you can buy a lock, engrave it and place it on there. Very speakeasy restaurant vibes.
