    Did not live up to expectations. Food and service here used to be exemplary but that’s not the case anymore. All the sauces have been water down to where they wish. No taste to them. The soup tasted like water. The salad dressing had no flavor. Do you waiter was wearing a baseball cap. They were only two tables on a Sunday night, and no reservations for the rest of the night. The cook was adequate, but not the standard of which they used to be famous for. The food cooked on the Tappan was done perfectly. Prices have doubled. The quality has dropped off considerably. Would not recommend it.

    The show was great and it was a good environment. The food looked really good, but didn’t have a lot of flavor. I had steak and shrimp and there was no num num sauce available, and only a mustard and a ginger sauce that I did not like.

    If you have a reservation, your night goes much smoother. Definitely glad we did that! GREAT people with a real family atmosphere and good energy. Our chef was so funny and very engaging. The food was really good and we were happy with everything we ordered! Which is really a tall order with our group of 8. Great value for the food. They seemed a little disorganized when we first arrived, but that could have been due to people showing up without reservations.

    They were very under staffed. We waited 2 hours before we had a chef to cook for us. We had to go get our own drinks. The staff that was there was friendly but unable to service the people. The owners did nothing to compensate for the unacceptable wait times.

    We booked a Hibachi table for 2 we were seated with 8 other diners at first everything seemed to be ok all other tables were full but there was only two Hibachi chefs for the whole restaurant with the servers was utter chaos the chef called for white rice 4 times and did not get any we got around of drinks and they barely got to the table the food was not up to par for what we knew in the past from the Shogun they are gravely under staffed and I think this was the whole problem the table next to us got up and left after about 45 minutes not very good for the owners we have decided that there are other places in town and next time it will be Anthony's for us sorry Shogun.

    This was my first time in this new location, and I was disappointed. It was not cozy. It smelled awful (I couldn’t tell what it was, but it was unpleasant.) The food didn’t taste fresh and flavorful probably due to the poor quality of cheap oil and butter they use. The rag they use to clean the hot plate is stinky and dirty. On the bright side - the lady server was very nice and did everything well. The cook was entertaining and did his job okay. But this alone won’t make me come back.

    A very inexperienced hostess/waitress detracted from the overall impression we took away from this expensive meal. She had no idea of what was on the menu, brought the check when we had just started eating and then stood and waited for me to pay it. I’m sure it was not totally her fault but the old Shogun was much better managed.

    Great fun place to eat. A show and great food! You won't be disappointed, the service was great and the fun of having it cooked in front of you is lots of fun! It's a crowd pleaser for the young and old alike!

    We made a reservation for 730. When we arrived, no one acknowledged us for about 15 minutes. Then one woman who look like she was running the entire restaurant and taking everyone’s orders greeted us. She was very kind and sweet, but just not capable of doing all of the work alone, we sat at the hibachi table and had a really good chef entertain us but the food was good not great. He was worth the visit for entertainment purposes, but everybody else in the service portion was disappointing. We ordered a bottle of red wine and the same woman who greeted us at the door, only came with one glass. I waters were not refilled until our chef had to go find her to tell her to come and refill them. I know they’re in a situation where they’re trying to rebuild and they’re having a difficult time finding good help after Covid but I’m only leaving an honest review , because in today’s world, going out to dinner is supposed to be special and worth the money, don’t get me wrong, it was not a horrible experience. We still had a lot of fun, and the steak was great, but they definitely need help and that poor old lady cannot do it all by herself. And there was only about 15 people in the restaurant at total.

    If you like the loud chopping fire table show and are ok with mediocre food then it’s your place. I went for sushi and it was not good very small thin pieces of fish not worth the money. I love sushi and eat it a lot this was to worst. Service was poor

    I came in with no expectations, but was looking to have a good night. I was met with poor service from the get go and was informed they didn't even know about my reservation. I ended up spending my anniversary dinner at a table with a large family of 6 and it was very uncomfortable. Than they kept making a bad joke about water being free and was on him. Than it took over and hour for them to get to the cooking and came out missing ingredients and some of the vegetables were precut and frozen. He over cooked alot of the meats and then to top the whole thing off he didn't season the steak and we didn't get our white rice we ordered till the rest was already done and it had been 2 hours by that time. All in all wold not ever recomend.

    Hadn’t been to Shogun in over 20 years. We were missing out! They came back from the fire strongly. Food was great. Travis was fun at the grill. We will go back without a doubt. Seriously…try them!!

    We were not greeted, they didnt even know we had reservations, didnt recognize a birthday occasion even though we listed it here. Had to tell them, ruined the surprise. Burnt the steak, the hostess called out the cook in front of us, making it very awkward, as we hadn't complained. Definitely not the vibe it had when it was downtown. Think Fu-Ke will be the go to from now on.

    What has happened to the special birthday celebrations? That was such a huge draw and why we come back year after year. The hostess asked if we wanted the birthday 🥳 and I said yes. We had another birthday at our table and they too were wondering. The service was a bit slow outside of the cook who was great

    Nothing like it used to be. Good quality is not as good. The atmosphere is very low budget for the price. Our cook had zero personality and made it a miserable experience. The only positive of our time there was our waitress. She was great. (Tall blonde)

    Haven't been there in a long time. Took a group of eight four of them never been there and it was a great experience for them. The other one was for his birthday. Like always the food was excellent great interaction with the chef.

    We were early for the reservation and was seated 35 minutes later. Once seated we waited for 1hr and 15 minutes before any orders were taken and even waters were served. It was great once the chef came out and they were trying very hard. I think short staffing, new crew, and a patron emergency threw them off their game. Good food but service needs work. May not be going back unfortunately.

    The food was definitely not as high quality as we would usually expect for 50+ per person. I couldn't eat the shrimp from any dish as they smelled and tasted awful. I'm still trying to figure out why the tempura appetizers were served cold and very old tasting when there were only 2 tables filled. My daughter's salmon sashimi was very fishy tasting with much of the grey belly still attached, so a few pieces were inedible to her palate. Everyone's steak was a bit overcooked, but no one really cared as we were celebrating a double birthday and enjoying each other's company. That said, the servers were very nice and accommodating. They were attentive with drink refills and requests. The hibachi chef was quite amusing and put on a decent show for my family. He was engaging and funny, which definitely made for a pleasant experience. When checking out there was a 90.00 discrepancy due to having to place a 90.00 deposit for our reservation. I noticed the deposit hadn't been deducted. Once the staff was made aware of the mistake they were quick to adjust the bill to reflect the deposit paid. It's a new addition, so the staff is still getting used to having deposits held for larger parties. All in all it was a nice time, shared and spent with my family and I appreciate the effort made to ensure our happiness. Spending quality time with my family is absolutely priceless and they all enjoyed the experience, so I would call this well worth it.

    Waited around 10-15 minutes for someone to be at the front desk to seat us for our reservation. When we booked for the occasion of birthday and asked for any requests we put down sing happy birthday. It did not happen. Then when we wanted to pay for our food and go we waited another 15 minutes to pay due to no one being at the front desk. Yes we rang the bell.

    WOW!! What a FUN and YUMMY time we had at this awesome resturant. Best resturant in Spokane. The chef cooks at your table and was super enteraning!! The food was fresh and had amazing flavor and you get alot !! The ambiance was great. 5 STARS

    The food was decent for a hibachi. I've had better the food, was cooked a little longer than I liked, especially the steak. It was still tasty, but I asked for medium rare, it was cooked to medium well. Others at the table commented too. Also, they were out of shrimp. One of their staple items. Like I said, the food was tasty enough, but for the prices, I'm checking out other places before going back. Super nice ambiance though. Noisy too.

    Ordered a Kirin beer, never got it so asked. Two different staff said problem with tap. Ordered a Blue Moon , didn’t get asked again and issues with that tap too. Chef felt bad and checked himself. Finally got beer towards end of meal. Was not charged for beer which was at least appreciated and appropriate. Food was fantastic.
