   Shivas Bar & Grill has been for the past year my favorite authentic Indian restaurant in the Dallas metro. Everytime my family orders food from here, we are met with well spiced, deliciously flavored, consistently yummy food. Initially, I would give this restaurant a 5 star. That being said, this week we placed a delivery order for malai kofta and mattar paneer. I was eating the mattar paneer and bit down on something hard. After immediately spitting out the food, I saw that what I bit on was a RAZOR BLADE. I was beyond disgusted and disturbed by the potential health ramifications of eating a blade that I almost was tempted to post immediately about this on social media. But being such a big fan of the restaurant, I wanted to give them a chance to explain themselves before proceeding. Today, I drove to Shivas, brought proof of my dish with the razor in it. I asked to speak with the manager or the owner. The bartender said that he was the manager. I showed him my food, at which point he said that he would take this to his "boss". He walked to the back, spoke with a gentleman sitting at a table in the back for about 5 minutes, came back and apologized (more out of obligation not sincerely) for the blade and offered to refund my money. He just said that stuff like this happens, although he had never heard of a razor being found in food - he had heard of rubber bands occasionally from the produce. He refunded me $16 cash (the cost of the dish is $16.50 not including tax or the cost of delivery). He offered no insight as to how this even happened or how he would investigate to see what happened that night. The "boss" whom he spoke to never came over to apologize. It is very evident that customer service is not a priority to this establishment even when you are served and end up eating a razor blade in your food. I will refuse to ever order from here again and am very concerned about the health codes/standards of their kitchen after this happened.

   As someone familiar with South Asian food - I must say that the food was ordinary. The samosas were dry and the food was "add curry to everything" - no regional specialties - just the kind of fare you can get at an "eat all you can" Indian buffet.

   They told me my reservation was for the next night when I arrived and it WAS NOT for the next night. They told me they were closed when I walked in, on-time for my reservation that was for THAT NIGHT. UNACCEPTABLE honestly. They had 6 people standing there that could have helped accommodate us AND they should have NEVER accepted the reservation if they were "closed" as they say. AND what the heck are they talking about that it was for the next night. Check the app, DEF for the night I arrived. Pitiful service and NO WAY to handle it at all. I am NOT HAPPY. I def should get some preferred treatment if they want to retain me as a customer.

   Solid Indian food (and this is coming from an Indian girl!!). Would definitely recommend for casual dining or take out. We will be back

   We had a blast! Love Indian food and this place meets expectations! Owners came out to greet us and also gave a complementary mango yogurt drink. (For the spice, which I loved but can be a bit spicy on the 10 level) Get out and check it out! Support local businesses. And as always be sweet and kind to one another.

   The food was really good. Portions weren't huge, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Service was good and friendly, though at times a bit clumsy. All in all though, I'd recommend this place and I'd go again

   The butter masala and the korma were both outstanding. I also wasn't disappointed when I asked for really spicy and got it really spicy. The garlic naan has a really steep price for what it is but it is very delicious.

    Clean, with nice, white tablecloths on the tables. Food is cooked to order, & your level of spice, using family recipes. In fact, members of the Owner's family are often running the kitchen. Nice variety of dishes & a well-stocked bar.
