Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history. The creation of the Matinee Performance, the regal guests Shires' hosted, an unsolved murder and other noteworthy events that took place at the original Shires' Gardens, are an inspiration to our program that we look forward to sharing with you.

Not a great value for restaurant week. Our server seemed like he could care less, and the drinks and food were subpar. Will likely not come back for anything more than drinks.

This is the 2nd time we have been here and love it! The food was outstanding and we are looking forward to having dinner this winter. I gave service a 4 because they are a bit short in that area. We would have drank more and ordered more food if they had the staff. It was a weird time on a Sunday, but still. This will not deter us in the future though. The food is amazing!

We were a little disappointed at the first table that they sat us at because it was right by the doors going in and out of the rooftop. We came early to our reservation and they sat us right away there. When we told them that we would rather wait for a nicer table, they were very accommodating. The food was absolutely amazing again!! We did the restaurant week deal. The only part of our meal that was undesirable was the Caesar salad. Everything else was superb!!

I called and set up reservations for party of 6 for my wife’s 50th birthday. Ask for rooftop outdoor seating with the best view possible. They went above and beyond. Absolutely amazing experience. Thank you so much for making my wife’s birthday one she will always remember. Our whole party would give the same review. The food was absolutely delicious. In our party we ordered the fillet, game hen, salmon, gnoochi, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes,salads. And OMG the cheesecake and crème brûlée. Do not leave without getting one. Our first time and definitely looking forward to many more.

there was a wellness event going on outside, so we unfortunately had to eat inside because it was too out outside at 6 PM. It was disappointing because it was my friends first time there , and they really wanted to eat outside.

Love the atmosphere, ambience and the view is amazing. Hidden Gem. The food always great, never have had a bad experience yet. Service has always been top notch for us and staff always very friendly. Highly Recommend any time of the year and great place for pre-game, game etc.

I thought the atmosphere was outstanding! The food was okay, but the portions were small for the amount of money that we spent. The waiter Shawn was very nice and attentive to us and the drinks were on point! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I've already been telling people about it.

This place is awesome, the food was great, drinks good, but that view, so beautiful!!!’ Service was a little slow, manager actually apologized for slow service and bought our dessert. Will return , throughly pleasant experience.

The pork belly was mostly fat and for the price you can maybe eat half of it at best and it is not worth it. The Mac and cheese was delicious but they didn’t warn me the dish it was in was hot and I burnt my finger so bad they had to give me burn cream from the back. We still stayed and enjoyed the weather and view but it was not worth a burnt finger and to only be able to eat half of my meal.

Great service, yummy food, wonderful view, comfortable & attractive surroundings...seems like a Cincinnati downtown secret. It's not their fault we had to walk through a scaffold to get to the door!:) It's my third visit and I'll be back again. Give Shires Rooftop a try!

We went before show at the aronoff so just had appetizers and salad. Crab cakes and fried green tomatoes were delicious along with the strawberry arugula salad. The view was great and everyone that we came into contact with was pleasant and accommodating.

All in all I was pleasantly surprised regarding the entire dining experience. I have to say I was disappointed that management has decided that a 3.5% surcharge when paying with a credit card. That kind of charge should be included as it just not a good look in my opinion. It says that the restaurant’s management is run on a shoestring budget.

My first visit from a referral and you did not disappoint. Food, Service and ambience was superb! My compliments to the Chef as the food was not only perfect to taste but displayed exquisitely. Our server was very attentive and took the time to review the menu with us and make recommendations. We sat inside as it was raining and the outdoor seating was closed. Very relaxing feel. We will be back to enjoy the outdoor patio though soon. A new destination for us when wanting to dine out. Thank you!
