I love tappenaki, however, the steak and shrimp was tasty, the steak, cooked perfect by the chef, but the New York strip was not even. Choice grade steak was tough and grisly. More like round steak. The chef was great but for 4 people $182 with a $40 tip for $222, don't get me wrong, tip was more than 20% and overall, great staff, the steak was way too tough. I love the show, the staff was great but seemed a little overwhelmed as we received someone else's drinks and hard to get refill ordered another sapporo at half full, got it after asking twice when empty 10 minutes. Glad he brought water with lemon first.
I give 4 of 5 because of Staff alone, steak, better NY strip, choice grade at least.
The food was good but it was very hot in restaurant
Overall the experience was great. The hostess needs to learn to greet just a bit better. She was talking to a customer and they customer went to check on her party. The hostess was waiting and instead of looking at me or acknowledge I exist to maybe say she will be with me in a moment she just stared at the desk. I had to say hello there for her to make eye contact. Otherwise everything else was fantastic! Would go again, will just bring my neon saying I have arrived for future visits.
I would not recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. The service was terrible myself and my husband along with four other patrons (whom we got acquainted with during the long wait.) All agreed service was lousy we waited 20 minutes before a waiter came to our table. Restaurant was hot and stuffy like the air was not working. We never received any water, food was greasy and flavorless. Don't waste ur time or money on this establishment.
I just wish the vegetable tempura had more vegetables and less sweet potatoes. I love the broccoli and zucchini but just get 1 of each while you get 4-5 sweet potatoes.
Food was great service was pretty good, nice place for any occasion especially large groups!!
They ran out of soup by 7:30?? How does a restaurant do that? Soup is included with the price of dinner but there was no offer to make up for the soup. Took 50+ mins for our chef to arrive! We were starving. Place was packed and noisy. Some at our table got their dinner in stages. Rice first then veggies then lastly meat which meant their meal was in stages of cooling off. I had the seafood noodle which had everything cooked together and delivered all at once and was excellent! Their “salad”, also included in the dinner is a joke. Tiny and just iceberg lettuce with slivers of carrots and a house dressing that was boring. Very disappointing.
Restaurant doesn't know how to manage their reservation system especially on holidays. Had to wait for 30 minutes just to tell them we had reservations and another 20 minutes before being seated. Customers at the other tables were loud with foul language and no employee said a word. Staff seemed overwhelmed and not prepared mentally for the Job. Really considering not returning.
Jeff, our waiter and Norman, our chef, were exceptional. Norman prepared our food exactly as we ordered, and Jeff attended to our every need.
Awesome, fun and entertaining atmosphere. Drinks were very good. I had a mai tai. Tasted great. I ordered the shogun - NY steak, Chicken and Scallop. Cooked to perfection. Salad tasted fresh, love the ginger dressing. My husband had the Banzai - NY steak, Sheimp and Chicken. I would definitely come again.
Good was great as usual. They were very busy so service was a little slow but overall our server and chef were great.
The chicken was like rubber. The manager told us that it was because we ordered chicken. She was beyond rude.
We had a party of 25 and had reservations at 8:30pm however we were not seated til 9:45. I even called the restaurant to confirm our reservations. They ended up having to seat our party separately which was a disappointment because we were celebrating my nieces birthday. They knew we were coming, they should have held thwir largest table for us. We understand their need to accommodate all guests however waiting over an hour for to be seated on confirmed reservations was disappointing. However to accomodate the long wait, the manager comped our soft drinks and appetizers. Aside from the very long wait, our servers and chefs were amazing!

I was so disappointed, I wasn't able to eat at this location...it almost ruined my Valentine's night. We made the reservation thru Opentable 4 days ahead and set it for 8:45 pm. We got there 20 min before our reservation and the place was packed, lots of people standing in the front, the hostess were running like chickens with no head. I do understand so caos due to the holiday but it was just crazy; we got to the front desk said that we had a reservation at 8:45 pm. Well they said that they had people waiting that had reservations too and were seating people with 7:30 pm reservations...WHAT!!!!! they were taking reservations for walk in people and adding them to the list. They said that Opentable sucks that they were allowing people still make reservations up to that minute and didn't have a way to stop it. They said I had to wait at least and hour to be seated and they close at 10pm. that is crazy, who's fault is it Open Table or the Restaurant? We end up leaving and went to a different place.... Crazy place I am telling you, Don't know if I can count on OpenTable reservations anymore
I was just taking my son out because it was Valentine’s Day and daddy is deployed a lot. My only complaint is more vegetables if you order the vegetable tempura. It was pretty much just a whole bunch of starches deep fried and I was looking forward to broccoli (we got 1 piece), zucchini (zero pieces), onions (1 piece). Other than that everything else was perfect.
I reserved well in advance per the open table app only to get there and not have my name on their reservation list so then the host just wrote my name at the bottom of the waiting / walk in list. I seen a friend from high school there who had reservation for 45mins before mine reservation was and they still had not been seated. This place does not know how to schedule reservations or they just purposely double book them.
We made reservations and we're seated promptly on time. Server and chef were extremely personable and made our experience pleasant. Looking forward to our next visit.
We made a reservation and it was so packed in and outside the restaurant. When we were finally able to get to the counter they were very disorganized and we were told we would have to wait 20-25 minutes and we had a reservation. I thought that was the purpose of a reservation. Bad experience to say the least. Don’t go on a Saturday evening if you want to get seated, be in a comfortable environment, and eat.
Great place! Filet and scallops were fabulous - will definitely be back very soon!!
Food and service was really good tonight. My whole family enjoys coming to Shirasoni. I feel like this is a better value and better tasting food than Benihana.
Always a treat with more the next day which is one of the best things about Shirasoni.
This was our Family New Year Eve dinner.
We made reservation for 8:30pm. We arrived at 8:10pm. When we arrived we were told that it would be 10 to 15 minutes for us to be seated. That was perfectly fine with us because we had arrived early. Well, that was not to be. We were finally seated by 9:30pm. The chef started cooking around 10:00pm and we left the restaurant at 11:00pm. We, were the last guests in the restaurant. Not happy with this.
There was a tiny mixup as there seemed to be two Vanessa's that had reservations for the same time. However, they handled it with grace and took care of us very quickly. Our company dinner was amazing and everyone had a great time.
Great night with family! Good food, great show, great service. Made for a night to remember.
Even with a Reservaton , we still had to wait 45 minutes past our Reservations! We went to Bar while waiting and The Bartenders were very slow , they ignored us for 25 minutes until we finally were acknowledged and then another 10 mins for our drink order.
When we were finally seated at our table the experience and the food was exceptional!

Love coming here for birthdays and such. It’s a fun experience and the food is great and so are the drinks. Try the Washington Apple. Kids really enjoy it too. And if you have a cool cook like we did it really is an awesome experience. Only downside this time, was that service was a bit slower than usual but because we had to wait long they gave us the edamame appetizer on the house.
Needs to be cleaned! Service was not the best. Never left spoons for are soup. Seems like if the table does not purchase adult drinks they kind of leave you hanging!
We went to Shirasoni Saturday night and to start we were SHOCKED by how many people they SMASH into each table. The teppan dining tables are set up with two grills and a large C shape table, our 1/2 had 16 people seated at it. Probably would comfortable fit 12. The chef was very good, super fun. The fish dishes were good as was the chicken and shrimp. I did not taste the filet mignon but was told it was good. The New York steak however was TERRIBLE. Too tough to chew it. My youngest son ordered the kids terryaki steak which was cut in strips and he almost cried because he could not chew it. If they improved on the steak and seated less people I would rate them much higher. (My guess is that they were way over fire capacity)
Typically we have a good experience, however this time was different.
We were seated quickly, but the place was filthy!!! The table, grill, chairs, plates, etc. It was gross!
Out chef was great but service was odd. We asked for something and they in turn asked a manager-looking woman (who'd we had seen walking ALL OVER the ENTIRE NIGHT and was very much in everyone's business) who in turn TOLD someone else to do it. The chain of command was off.
Our bill was incorrect and instead of correcting it, we were verbally told of the discrepancy as they waited for our credit card. Very unprofessional.
I don't like how you have to share a table with others.
GREAT GOURMET FOOD! PRIME BEEF! Crowded lobby with people waiting for tables, but you can have drinks and sushi at the bar area which has many tables. The Chef puts on a show grilling meat, garlic rice, veggies and seafood, all of which are extremely fresh. The AC had trouble cooling such a large Saturday night clientele, though it was 90 degrees outside at 715 pm...overall 5 stars and one of the best Brentwood/Antioch area dining experiences. Friday and Saturday nights reservations are your best option.
Love shirasoni!! This time not so much. I had reservations for 7:45, didn't get sat until 8:20pm. Then the chef was new so the food was bland.
The food as always, was amazing! Tried the Dynamite roll, shared that with my husband and it was plenty for us both! One of the heftiest rolls I've had, and so delicious. Great for sharing.
The soups were great, the salads were good, everything tasted perfect and our cook was fantastic! Asked for extra garlic butter on my rice and it was so good.
My only complaints are that we were seated for a good 15 minutes before someone even came to take our drink order, I had asked for my daughter's steamed rice (that comes with her entree) to be brought at the same time as the appetizers, I also reminded our waitress of this when we placed our entree order. In spite of this, the sushi came and went, the soups and salads came and went, and then the cook came and started the entrees and they brought out my daughters chicken tempura before I caught her and reminded her again that she had a steamed rice. Anyone who is a parent knows this is really annoying, my daughter waited for about an hour before she got her food, she's four.
It was also hard to get a hold of the waitress, I would look around the restaurant and not even be able to spot her much less try to get her attention. I get it was a later reservation and I'm sure she's tired and still has a lot to do before she's done for the night, but a little more attention would've made a big difference.
Just a PSA, if you haven't been, Shirasoni is LOUD so if you don't like noise you probably shouldn't eat here as it's completely unavoidable. I also strongly recommend making a reservation, even for smaller parties because they're often busy for dinner. Plan to spend about at least two hours here from the time of arrival to getting up to leave.

It was great, aunties from out of the country loved it
