Our first trip to this restaurant. Everything was amazing. The tuna stack is a must!
My husband’s steak, perfection. I had a special (short ribs with saffron risotto) and it was delicious. Cozy atmosphere and very attentive staff. Our new favorite place.
Excellent food. Great location by the water and marina. Nice atmosphere.
Delicious seafood as usual. Would like to see the option of Grilled Scallops on the dinner menu, they're the best we've ever had!
As always, Everything was wonderful. Our favorite restaurant.
Since I am a pescatarian, they served me a delicious salmon dish for my main course. The stuffing was the best either of us has ever eaten.
Everything was awesome just the New York strip was a little chewy
I am from Idaho but needed to be home in Catskill NY twice in 3 weeks. We are at this restaurant 5 times . What more needs to be said? Superb.
We were celebrating 2 birthdays and had a wonderful dinner. The food was delicious and our server Emily was delightful .
Usually this place is on point. This time it was not. Scallops undercooked and had an ammonia taste/smell. Steak sandwiches very lacking in steak, gritty steamed clams, and overcooked fish. Very sad for a party of 7 and $500 bill. Fingers crossed that next time will be back to normal.
Food was the highlight. Very busy and loud. Make a reservation.
We went to dinner with family last night. Food was excellent. Apps were iron skillet scallops and crispy squid; main courses were rack of lamb; pumpkin ravioli; chicken breast. Dessert was Creme Brulee which was good but we prefer just vanilla bean not added flavors.
Service was excellent
Nice menu if a few too many cheese-enhanced items for my tastes and diet. But they were fine about leaving it off. Very friendly and professional service. We'll definitely be back, the specials were both delicious.
This was our first time at Ship to Shore and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Our server and all other employees we encountered were friendly, courteous, professional, accommodating and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend Ship to Shore to our friends and family.
Hoped for better but exceedingly mediocre fare not atypical of touristy waterfront restaurants. Probably fine for others just not us, big portions, quantity over quality, and not inexpensive.
What an outstanding surprise. Made a last minute reservation and we were very impressed by the food. In fact, it was so good we went again the next day. All flavors were right on and everything was really prepared to perfection. I highly recommended this restaurant!!!
Staff was great
Very loud as we were near bussing station.
Food was great. Would certainly recommend;)
Favorite spot in Kingston to eat. I've never had a bad meal and everything is excellent.
The food and service were fabulous. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the lighting. It was a little too dim. Overall it was an excellent experience!
Food and service were excellent.. two recommendations, the lights kept dimming to the point of darkness, it was odd.. perhaps the restaurant was experiencing electrical issues, if so, I apologize.. The other item, I suggest putting a heavy curtain over the entry way in colder months to shield people sitting near from the cold blast when the door opens.. Not criticisms at all! I love the place, the food is amazing.. It’s evident in how busy the place was for a Monday!
We were driving thru Kingston & the reviews for Ship to Shore drew us right in…. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! There was a small issue which they bent over backwards to correct & succeeded. Can’t wait to go back!!!!
Outstanding and the monkfish was amazing! We will be back for the empanadas. Excellent appetizer.
The service was lovely. Portions were good. I’ve eaten here in the past and that is what brought me back. I wasn’t happy with my dish, and they gladly replaced it. I am 55 and never had this happen. They were gracious and my second dish was outstanding. I would return .
Charming/cute atmosphere and the Hudson River is right across the street. There are a few outdoor tables right in front on sidewalk. Menu looks fantastic and plate presentation was nice. However, I didn’t care so much for the dishes I ordered (salad was drenched in vinaigrette and pasta had an odd sharp flavor). Several small plate options that look interesting and dining companions enjoyed theirs more or less but not any raves. Overall, not worth the $$.
This is a GREAT place !
We like the menu and the specials!
We are always happy dining!
Full of flavor, artfully presented. Large serving
This restaurant will always meet a persons goal. Always a good time.
Always a reliable place for a great brunch or dinner. Staff go out of their way to accommodate food allergies. Specials menu always has interested items. You cannot go wrong here.
Disappointed that they wouldn’t allow us to place an order for appetizers while deciding on the entries. Said it was a requirement by the kitchen. First time that’s ever happened in any restaurant we’ve been to. My husband’s pork entree was over cooked and the meat hard and dry.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Making our reservation online was very easy
Excellent service and wonderful food.
Very good service and food. Try the lamb chops...well mixed drinks
We had reservations and were seated promptly at a lovely table by the window
The staff was courteous and prompt to our needs and the food arrived on on time. The waiter provided great suggestions.
The overall experience was excellent would highly recommend
We were a party if 8, nice table in back room. Goat cheese & lamb appetizer & crispy calamari was awesome . Duck & sole skillets delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food. Would definitely recommend!!
This was our first time eating at Ship to Shore and it was fantastic!! I had the grilled octopus and seared sea scallops. These both had an Asian Infused combination of ingredients and were prepared perfectly!! Our server, Tyler, did an excellent job of monitoring us as we dined and proactively checking to make sure that we had what we needed. I would recommend that anyone coming to the Kingston/ NY area should dine here!!
The two stars are the ambiance and the service. Great location on the river in Kingston, nice atmosphere, fairly quiet and friendly attentive service. The food, not so much. The chef seems to have a real penchant for sweet, heavy gummy sauces, such as the one coating the usually delicate shumei, the rubbery octopus, my dreadful scallops and my husband's pork tenderloin. The worst dish award though goes to my son's "fish and chips," usually nice crispy, batter-fried fresh fish, but in this case, a miserable mass of mushy overcooked cod on a huge bed of fries. Actually, inedible, and when he complained the friendly waitress offered to bring him more of the same. All three of our plates went back almost untouched. Very disappointing.
Best branzino i have had in a while. My friend loved the fish and chips and the two of us who got steak said they were excellent. Our waiter was very nice. It was noisy in the back but it was nice to see a restaurant crowded. Wev week be back for sure
Great food and staff!
Delicious bone-in-rib eye, rivaling any Manhattan steakhouse. Great atmosphere, would definitely return for the steak!
We went to celebrate our anniversary and were very disappointed. Scallops were so over-salted, I couldn't taste their normally delicate flavor. My husband ordered lobster ravioli which had almost no filling. Definitely not worth the money. They did comp us a beer and Luke the waiter was good, but wouldn't go again. Over-rated.
Service food and vibe were all great!
