An outstanding meal and experience! The food is great with all its flavours carefully put together, and the sake pairing is perfect. The chef is obviously enjoying himself while cooking and explaining what we have the delightful opportunity to eat and his staff is ever attentive. A restaurant absolutely recommend!

Incredible experience—not just a meal, but a performance as we watched Chef Masayuki Sano prepare each of 11 exquisite courses. He sources local ingredients and prepares them expertly and creatively. The flavors were incredible. Also an amazing value—under $500 USD for our family of 4, including drinks. Highly recommend for foodies wanting a special evening in Tokyo.

Great experience, chef Masa is friendly and explains each dish before we eat. It helped a lot that he speaks perfect English so we did not rely on translation apps. There are only 8 seats, so we could ask many questions and make conversation with the other guests. We were really happy we did the sake pairing, because all the sake was great. He showed the label for each one so we could jot down our favorites. He also gave special attention to kids, which was very nice.

This restaurant is hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in my life. The chef explained where everything was from and what it was. The food was outstanding and all very fresh. 10/10 recommend!!!!!!!

It was an intimate setting. The chef paid a lot of attention to detail and provided flair to every dish. It was my family’s first omakase and it was a success! We will definitely return on our next visit to Japan.

We were very lucky....had the Chef Masa all to ourselves which was unusual. He was able to explain each course and how the produce was sourced and prepared. It was great to watch him in action we had fun too so wasn't intimidating as it can be in these types of restaurants.

丹精をこめてお料理を作られているんだなと感じられます。店主の方のお料理に向き合う姿勢や、お酒や食材へのこだわりなど何から何まで素晴らしく、毎回幸せな気持ちにさせて頂いております。なによりもコースの最後にシンプルな白米をいただきましたが、その美味しさに感激し、すっかり虜になりました。日本酒のペアリングなども楽しい上、ボリュームも大満足！これからも大切な日や友人との楽しいひとときに利用させていただきたい料理屋さんです。

素晴らしいお店を見つけました！今回も愛妻とのデートです。フレンチとかイタリアンはこれというお店があるのですが、和食は(寿司、鰻は除く)決まったお店がなかったところ、味、雰囲気、店主のお人柄、コスパとすべて満足なお店を見つけました！決定版。 1皿目から驚きです。おだしをいただきます。だしだけです！これが美味しいこと。上質な昆布と鰹節から手間暇かけてとったお出汁は和食の真髄。このお出汁をベースにしたお料理が続きます。どれも季節の厳選された素材に店主自ら手間を惜しまず作り込まれた逸品です。八寸だけでもお酒一升飲めそう笑呑める方はドリンクのペアリングをお勧めします。さながらいい展覧会の絵を次から次へと観ているような気分でした。あまりの見事さに、惚けたように「美味しい」としか口にできなくなった私達に最後に訪れたのは、ご飯の驚き。織田信長の長篠の戦い三段撃ちの如き連続パンチ。私達おしどり夫婦は見事撃ち落とされました。是非ともご体験ください。最近ぬか漬けにハマっている妻のために秘蔵のぬか床を分けて頂いたのは、ここだけの秘密です。当然の事ながら、来月の予約を入れました。

Shinsen Kappo Sanoya is an incredible restaurant, tucked into a quiet neighborhood near Shibuya. My fiance and I were looking for a place for dinner while in Japan, and as fate would have it, Shinsen Kappo Sanoya had two seats left for dinner! Without hesitation, we booked it and honestly, it was the best decision ever. The chef, Masayuki-san is so talented and his passion for cooking truly shows! 1st: Dashi Soup with bonito, kelp, white radish, tuna shavings and a little salt 2nd: Shrimp with Japanese spinach, roe and yuzu 3rd: Chawanmushi with delicate foam - 4th: Hassun 5th: Sashimi course 6th: Duck shabu with japanese celery, firm tofu, and scallion 7th: Spanish mackeral cooked with radish and japanese citrus 8th: rice, buta kakuni, miso soup, and pickled veggies. 9th: Nitrogen apple sherbet made with 4 different kinds of apples with differing flavors This was an incredible meal and I can only whole-heartedly recommend it to everyone. Masayuki-san is so kind and can converse in English, and can also serve such delicious Kaiseki! Definitely come here and experience this place!!
