Shine Restaurant & Potion Bar
The food was DELICIOUS, but it is a little pricey for the portion sizes. I would definitely return, though.
I love the food at Shine because I can eat several entries and the food is cooked to perfection. I like the overall clean food and interesting choices. I love the sweet potato fries! Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating that it was so easy to relax. I really liked that when I went into the restroom, it didn't have all the powerful air fresheners assaulting my nose. Thank you for such a thoroughly good experience.
A lovely little lunch spot. The food & service was excellent, yummy cocktails
New, fresh and fabulous! Amazing drinks, potions and organic local food. Restaurant was busy and the wait staff was very extended. Service was a little slow but the waitress was very apologetic. I will definitely go back.
Great flavors/dishes, interesting drinks, allergy friendly, no wait, great service. Going on my favorites list.
Always delicious. Especially impressive this last visit, as it was a CU game day and parents' weekend. Service and food were excellent as always.
Very small portions for the expensive menu prices. Don’t accept their offer of avocado slices for your tacos - $7.50 for a quarter of an avocado? We won’t be coming back.
Would love to go through entire menu in a month of dinners. However, the $$$ has limited us to special occasions, such as what brought us to you for the first time Tuesday evening.
Everything was good except the service was slow. We wanted dessert but it would have taken us 30 minutes or more to get it. Everything took a long time.
This was our first visit to Shine. It was a delight to sit in their shaded patio with a quietly running water fountain. The food was fresh and delicious. Loved the flight of infused teas. The server was helpful and pleasant. An interesting, unique and refreshing experience. Can’t wait to return.
While we did have a few mishaps in the service - The manager was very intent in making it right and ended up comping one of our meals. Service was slow but honestly we were not in a hurry - so it was no big deal to us. Once the food mishap happened it seemed our server had gotten in trouble by how her interaction/mood changed with us. Over all - we will go again but so many other great restaurants to choose from in Boulder that it may be a bit until we go back.
This place is seriously amazing. Great service by Nicole, 100% gluten free and delicious. Highly recommended.
Servers were more interested in hanging with each other than taking care of guests. Slowest service I’ve ever experienced. Would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.
Love Shine! It is entirely gluten free and everything is delicious. My wife has celiac and we love that she doesn’t have to worry about what she’s going to eat there. The lamb Reuben was great. The potions are really interesting drinks. Our favorite was the Laughing Monks.
The staff is very friendly and attentive too!
The food and drinks were all amazing!! The cocktails are very creative and delicious.
Not my favorite - was expecting a lot more from other reviews. Appetizers were fabulous - beet hummus and lamb meatballs. Entrees were so so - really nothing exciting and the noise level made conversation very difficult.
Went for a fund raiser. It was fun. Because it was so busy, service was very slow. A little pre-planning would have been in order. It’s a loud place as well, so keep that in mind. Food/drinks were fab.
Everything was great about this restaurant. Will be back every time we visit!
Great outdoor setting. Celebrated my husbands birthday.
Recently had a special occasion luncheon with friends at Shine & was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness & service we received from the hostess & waitress. They were both knowledgeable & accommodating w/ our questions or special requests- we had an infant & toddler w/us so booster seat & children‘s menu was promptly offered & set up for us. The food was healthy & delicious & enjoyed by all. Portions were generous as I couldn‘t finish mine. Lunch Prices, particularly for the popular potions were a bit steep. Would love to see a few more less expensive options to garner the full Shine experience. Perhaps a reasonably priced combo option on the lunch menu would be welcomed by regular diners. Looking forward to bringing my Gluten- Free friends here to try it!
are Server was awesome, the food was amazing.
I can't recommend Shine enough! The food clearly tastes like it was cooked with imagination, care and love. I am concerned about my health and choose to not eat grains. I had my birthday dinner there with family and friends and we all had a great dinner and libations! Where else can you get a potion? ❤
Food quality is great
Portion sizes are a little small
really enjoyed happy hour menu and unique non-alcoholic beverages!
Love their entire menu and all of their potions!
Truly great food that also catered to those with strict diets. As a celiac it was amazing to see a menu from which I could choose anything. I wound up ordering a Fairy Bubles cocktail, the Pickles & Ferments plate, the Burger with avocado and a fried egg, Fries, and cashew-cream cheesecake. Not only did I not get sick, everything was delicious! Our server was also lighthearted, helpful, and funny. Will definitely go back!
Amazing food and service!! I wish I lived there because I would go every day!!
Great tasting, high quality food, served by friendly attentive wait staff! Perfect family dinner before a show at the Dairy.
Fabulous service and amazing food!
Very nice and relaxing dinner on the patio on a perfect summer evening. The cocktails were refreshing and the food was spectacular! Hats off to the chef! Our server was also very pleasant and was always there when we needed her, but she didn’t hover around us all night.
Great experience and will definitely make this a regular spot for a great meal.
Super kind and generous with honoring celebrations! Food wasn’t my favorite but still very pretty (I recommend the Mac and Cheese during happy hour).
This place is perfect for anyone who is following a Paleo/gluten-free/dairy-free diet. I had the seasonal stir-fry, and it was delicious! My husband had the tacos, and those were just "ok." Overall, I would definitely eat there again!
The paleo and vegan options were among the best choices compared to other restaurants in Denver, Boulder, Brooding making it easy to select SHINE.
Not good. We all ordered burgers, beef and veggie. My friends and I were uncomfortable the rest of the evening. The restaurant was loud, with piles of materials lying in sight of customers. Drinks were not good. Won’t be returning.
Fresh ingredients and very good food Very noisy already at 6.30 Friday night, probably due to high ceiling without any noise insulation. Slow and inaccurate service.
They have an amazingly healthy and tasty menu. Try their potions - also available to take home (and their cookbook!)
The food was ok, the ambiance wasn’t great (was looking out at the parking area of a hardware store). The portions were highly touted but didn’t do anything for me. Service was decent but the surprising part was that an 18% tip was added to the bill without my approval. I normally tip 20% for good service but was taken aback by the tip being added without asking me especially when we are a “small group” of 3 people (including a child). Haven’t seen that before. Anyway, all in all, a rather underwhelming experience.
For a gluten and dairy free diner, this was paradise.
Really good food offering different dishes to other local areas. Wish the menu was a little broader but I guess that’s the price you pay for super fresh ingredients!
Well now we can at least say we tried it but will not be back. The food was underwhelming.
