   This was my first time here and we ordered the 5 plate Mother’s Day special. It was so amazing! I still keep thinking of the jidori chicken we had. Everything was so good! I will definitely be back.

    Good view food was pretty solid. Definitely expect a full bar menu when paying over $200 for a date night with my wife. Having only wine and saki options just isn’t for me. The rainbow carpaccio was amazing.

    What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday, Sitting at the sushi bar. Wonderful Sake, fresh fish, excellent rolls and very special salads. We will be there more often than once a year on my birthday.

    The food was incredible but the service from the old ladies was awful. We are grateful we had the man as our server, He approached us very welcoming and was eager to help! Make sure you do not get the hating old japanese ladies My girlfriend speaks japanese and overheard them talking about us 5/10

    Arrived at 7:45 for a reservation and told by staff that we had to set outside as after 7 no one is allowed to sit inside. The restaurant had at least 5 tables of people inside eating. I had requested an indoor table on my reservation through open table. After we sat the waitress told us we had 10 minutes to order drinks and food. The food was not the same quality I remembered from a few years ago. Black Cod had an off fishy taste. Other food was decent but no one was raving. Overall I was slightly embarrassed I had exposed my group of friends to mediocre sushi and unfortunate unwelcoming service after our Charity Event which was in the same plaza. Will not be back to this establishment when so many other great sushi restaurants are close by.

    My husband and I chose this place as our final place to dine in San Diego before we returning to Honolulu. However, the food was less than average and the staff were not that friendly. The best item I had was Uni. The steak was over cooked. The sushi rolls left something to be desired. Overall, this was a quite disappointing experience.

    So delicious! Light, flavorful mix of sushi and cooked items. The pot stickers and spring rolls we the best I've had and the sushi was very fresh. The tempura shrimp was battered and fried perfectly -- so good. Would definitely recommend.

    Disappointing dinner. Small portions, average dishes and expensive price tag. The waitress didn't smile and was rude and asked me to put away my avocado I was feeding my baby (1 year old) telling me they can sell us slices of avocado. I was appalled. We spent $400 for 4 adults yet wasn't full. We will not be coming back again.

    We eat at Shimbashi at least once a week - Love the food, staff and sushi shef's The bar has a beautiful view of the ocean and its easy to find parking in the garage.

    I love their outdoor patio. You can catch the sunset over the ocean while enjoying their heaters. And believe it or not they have happy hour during the week from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. It gets busy so come early.

    It took 30 minutes for anyone to even acknowledged us at our table. The food was okay (have wrong order for an item), and service was slow. They were busy but we had reservations. This was our first date spot 2.5 years ago and it was great! I took my note fiancé after our engagement shoot as a surprise and we were underwhelmed, unfortunately. Likely won't be back.
