Shilo Restaurant Killeen
... even though we had reservations for Father's Day, we waited for 10 minutes and was not seated and no wait staff of manager was present. We left after a couple who was there already seated stated it took an hour and a half for them to get their food.
Had we know if no one was working to seat us and no manager was present to male a complaint to, we could've made reservations elsewhere from the start.
We will not be returning and will not be recommending anyone else to go there..
Waited 10 minutes to be seated. Almost left after waiting 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. Food was great, service was awful and now they have charged our card twice for our meal.
I was very disappointed. We had reservations yet we were taken to a room, like a conference room to a table that still had dirty dishes on it. we had food before we had silver to eat it with. Not a great start with 3 little hungry humans with us. Took forever to get anything, drinks to start, drink refills, anything. Not the waitresses fault 4 tables of 6 + people, alone? No problem we wont be back.
Loved the Shilo Restaurant in Killeen. The only issue was the Open Table didn't specify that the 3pm reservation was only for the bar. The actual restaurant didn't open until 5PM. The food and service was great!
Great home town restaurant for a nice relaxing meal with friends. Would recommend to all!
There were very few tables in the restaurant and we were sat very quickly. The atmosphere was pleasant. The server took our drink order and took a while to get back with the drinks then took our food order. Two of our 4 orders arrived within a reasonable amount of time, after 7 minutes the 3rd person got their food and another 10 minutes later the last order came out. My drink was never refilled and by the time we were able to eat the two people who got their food right away were a bit annoyed because it was cold. The food was ok, but not worth the price. I won’t be returning.
The customer service was amazing and always made sure that we were fully taken care of and satisfied with everything. The amount of time we had to wait for the food was perfect. The steak in particular was the best part of our dinner. My husband and I have tried so many steaks from different countries before and the steak y’all served was by far the best we’ve tasted. It was cooked to the right temperature, it was juicy, it was soft, and it was mouth melting. Just perfection. Lastly, the cake was amazing.
Best service I have gotten since I’ve been living in Texas.
Food was amazing and the service was top notch. One Killeen best kept secrets.
Overall the meal was good. Few mishaps with some of the orders:
Crab cakes were over cooked
Salmon was undercooked
Will the server was amazing and made dinner a fun and pleasant time. He assisted my son with his proposal to his girlfriend and he is an excellent people person! Thanks Will!!!!
MY WIFE AND I FIRST TIME DINING THERE. WENT THERE FOR MOTHER'S DAY, THOUGHT THAT WE COULD ORDER FROM THE MENU. HAD TO DO THE MOTHTER'S DAY BRUCH INSTEAD. THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD MORE OF A VARIETY OF FOODS. ALSO THEIR SHOULD HAVE BEEN LABELS PUT IN FRONT OF THE FOOD SO PEOPLE WOULD KNOW WHAT THEY WERE EATING.
Food was bad, service was only good because we were the only ones there.
This could be a great brunch if they put a little more effort into the food. It was one step above cafeteria, and terribly overpriced. It was standard eggs, bacon, sausage, two kinds of potatoes, lasagna, and meatballs. Nothing was refreshed or even looked at by staff in the 1.25 hours I was there. The food just sat in the warmers... Improvement could be eggs benedict, eggs florentine, maybe some snow crab legs would justify a 27 dollar price tag. One suggestion would be a self-serve bloody mary bar, some better pastries and rolls, and maybe a specialty meat like prime rib or brisket. The place was totally empty at 1pm which should be prime time for brunch crowd. The crew was nice, but more concerned with prep/set up than me. The Shilo should be rocking since they are one of the few brunches in the local area... sadly I understand why it was dead. The bottomless mimosas for 9.95 is a good initial draw to get people in the door, but you have to back it up with higher quality fare.
I was expecting more of an "upscale" restaurant but I was reminded it is Killeen and there are no upscale restaurants there. The food was average nothing to brag about at this time. Thank you for the opportunity to review this restaurant.
Food wasn't as great as I expected. I knew the tab was going to be a pretty penny so I was prepared for that but definitely was let down with the food. We both ordered the Valentine prime rib and was not pleased. The mashed potatoes were EXCELLENT and so were the martinis (wife had 3 I had 2). Xavier was helping us out on our date and he was delightful. Very knowledgeable on the menu/drinks and a pleasure to work with. Left a handsome tip because we had a good evening. Cheers
The food we ate was very good and our server was extremely attentive and friendly. There are definitely some quality control issues that could be easily resolved. The table cloth was very wrinkled, two items we ordered were unavailable (asparagus and mac n cheese) and the butter (foil wrapped packets) were all melted. Fairly minor stuff, but that’s exactly why it should be easy to correct.
Set up reservations for a special occasion, had made special requests for table for two . Showed up and their was no one to greet us we had to look around for someone. When we did get seated it wasn't the table I had asked for and it wasn't cause it was packed ,I don't think they checked the special requests on the the online booking . We decided to give it a shot and got sat a booth floor was very dirty the energy was like being at a funeral. Theirs no color ,music or lighting to make the place life like. As highly as this place was spoken about i just didn't see the hype . I'm sure food is great in own way and environment pleases some .just not for us .
We came here for Thanksgiving this year and were so please that I made reservations right away for Christmas. BOY WAS THAT THE RIGHT DECISION!!!!!
What a great way to have Christmas dinner with the family and Braden our waiter was so nice and helpful. And the gentleman at the carving station “that guy loves life” it hard not to be in a good mood around him. The food was nice and hot and oh so delicious. Great desserts too Thanksgiving was great and now Christmas was amazing... family traditions being created
We go to the Shiloh for holiday buffets. This time it was quite unappealing. There were few decorations and few items on the buffet. The place looked tired. Our dessert was even frozen. I will think twice about returning.
I was very disappointed. The food service area looked like leftovers were being served. We had a person who ate nothing as the beef was all gone at 5:00, four who picked at it. Fruit had been out all day and was brown. Dessert area was just dirty looking. For $150, we ended up taking our boys out two hours later to eat.
Food was excellent and the chef was a hoot. Everyone felt welcome and at ease. Very special place to go and have a good time.
My family enjoyed a great Thanksgiving at Shlo inn at Killeen. Food, service, and ambiance was great. Everyone on staff had a great sttitude, and made us feel very welcome! We stuffed ourselves on delicious food!
Our wither was very professional and friendly. He made sure all of our requests were granted.
My Husband and I came here for Brunch Sunday and we were very impressed. Everyone who walked by asked us how everything was or if we needed anything. The food was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised. We will be returning very soon.
The steaks are excellent and there is a wide selection of Scotch/Whiskeys. I've been here before; I will be back.
