Our dinner at the Shelter Harbor Inn was fantastic! The updated decor was beautiful, inviting and warm. Having been to the Shelter Harbor Inn many times over the past 30 years, it was wonderful to see the transformation. The Inn feels modern, but comfortable and stylish without any pretense. Kudos to the chef! The food was delicious -- the scallops and risotto were cooked perfectly and the tiramisu for dessert was one of the best we have every had. Our server, Kathleen, was excellent! Friendly, knowledgable and really made us feel at home. We are so happy to see the Shelter Harbor Inn restored so well. We will definitely be back soon!
Excellent calamari, great jambalaya, very good pasta primavera. Waitress pleasant and attentive. Chef came out upon request to be complemented. And the dessert was a whole roasted miniature sugar pumpkin with ice cream, awesome. Will definitely be going back.
This was our second visit to the inn for dinner. Our first trip was excellent, but our second was just okay. Our server was great, but there appeared to be not a lot of communication going on between the hostess, the busboy and waitress. It wasn’t a particularly busy night, but things seemed haphazard. My meal was excellent. I had a steak, it was prepared as requested and served hot. My wife’s salmon was not bad, but a little on the dry side.
The atmosphere is great, I am sure that we will return, but thought you would appreciate the feedback.
Great ambiance, service and food. Server was friendly and added to the experience.
The Dinning experience was very pleasant. The staff pleasant and very accommodating
Atmosphere was wonderful but drink order was slow and main course took 50 minutes after order. Rolls were served cold. Food was ok. They can only get better!
Excellent Dining Experience. The service, atmosphere, and food exceeded our expectations
It was our 15 Year Anniversary. The entire experience was amazing! If you like shrimp, have the Shrimp and Grits.
Delightful meal - great service, menu, & ambiance. Highly recommend.
lovely quiet gracious space. Food more than adequate.
The renovated restaurant has great atmosphere. The food and service were excellent. We will definitely go back again soon and recommend to others as well.
While on vacation in Weekapaug for 2 1/2 weeks, we ate at Shelter Harbor 5 times and enjoyed every dinner that we had there. The place is beautiful and the staff is wonderful! Will be going back again next year!
This lovely New England Inn is nicley located near Watch Hill and Westerly, RI.
It is under new ownership.
I believe that the rooms have all been renovated and they were booked to capacity in the Inn.
The restaurant was very quiet when we were there. We initially sat under the tent outside, but the insects drove us indoors.
The decor has a slightly exotic/Eastern feel [as opposed to a traditional New England style].
The food was very good and had a creative twist like the lobster sliders.
The grounds are attractive, and we had a very relaxing, enjoyable experience.
All was great. Our server Kathleen was fantastic.
Great food, great atmosphere and the wait staff are super! Our new favorite Westerly spot!
We had a lovely time and Macy our server was wonderful
This is a lovely, special restaurant. The atmosphere makes you feel like it must be a special occasion to be here.
We went for my friends birthday. I understand staff is low because of COVID but I had to find our waitress for more drinks. Appetizer plates were sitting in front of us when our meals came. I know a friend of my was being difficult because of lack of attention but service was poor
Just so happy that Shelter Harbor Inn is open again with beautiful updates..and a spa. Will be going back again this Saturday with friends!
The Shelter Harbor Inn is back and it's as good as it ever was. Liked everything but the steak was a little tough- done right just a bit tough for a strip steak. Everything else was great. Thank you!
We had a wonderful experience and the food was wonderful!
It was my birthday dinner and the food was terrible
I would never go back
Had ordered the ribs and the salmon both were sub par....
There was a small wedding reception taking place the evening of our reservations.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary so it was lovely to watch the bride and groom and family enjoying their evening. We ate outside under the tent and thoroughly enjoyed our very attentive waitress and our wonderful dinner. We will definitly revisit Shelter Harbor and have highly recommended it friends.
I ordered the tuna tacos - bore no resemblance to any taco I’ve ever seen - fine if it tasted good but no! My husbands ribs were great. Service was a little slow but pleasant.
Excellent ambiance, food & service.
A definite go to restaurant.
The ambiance and atmosphere was really cute and really romantic for my boyfriend and I. We sat under the tent outside that was all lit up at night. I was a bit disappointed with my food and the wait time. We ordered a shrimp cocktail and it took about 40 minutes to come out, not sure if the waitress forgot because it came out right after I had to mention/ask if it was coming out. We were enjoying ourselves so I didn't mind waiting for dinner but for a basic shrimp cocktail, it seemed extremely long. Our food came out about 2 minutes after we received the shrimp. I ordered the filet medallions, medium well to medium. They came out cool and red. I had to send them back and even when they came out again, they were still pretty red. I was tired of waiting so I just ate what I could and saved what I couldn't eat and would just microwave it when I got home instead. The drinks were good and the server was pleasant. Just a little disappointed with how rare my steak came out two times after being cooked. I would go back but would stay away from anything that requires a temperature when being cooked/prepared.
Great food and atmosphere! Loved the smokehouse selections. Salads were wonderful! Will definitely be back! 5 star!
Went here for our 30th Anniversary and it was wonderful! I highly recommend this place,
Beautiful atmosphere inside and ample outdoor seating. Friendly staff.
Ordered chicken Marsala served over angel hair pasta-chicken way over spiced with garlic and rosemary, swimming in a strong wine sauce, nothing like traditional Marsala. Not good at all. Halibut special was good. Salad was a dull, warm spring mix out of a bag, lousy dressing. Dessert just ok.
Would only go back for drinks.
Love they place. the new owners have done a fantastic job updating. The inn and dining room, bar and outdoor dining look great. The staff they hired are professional, friendly, and local. They hustle and know their stuff. The menu choices are classic New England, but they also have delicious bbq. Who would have thought. Thanks you for taking a classic place that had fallen down and making it great. We will be back!
Renovations are beautiful. 2nd time there for dinner ......probably won’t go back. (Maybe next summer will try again). Both times I wanted to love my dinner and both times I left disappointed. Food very mediocre and service very slow. Maybe they should rethink menu.
Birthday dinner. Took awhile to get
We enjoyed our dinner immensely. Nice ambiance, great food, energetic and friendly service.
Our server, Macy, was helpful throughout the meal. The food was really good. Yes, I will return. If you like spice, go for the shrimp & grits.
Beautiful. Great drinks. Quality food. Perfect under the tene
Great staff, service and ambience.
Food was very good and very fresh.
BreAd was amazing!
The waitress was a total professional and GREAT. The tuna encrusted steak wasn't edible. It tasted like a flax seed cracker and the portions are tiny. The place is gorgeous and has a nice vibe about it. Do not sit outside at night though, you will get eaten alive by mosquitoes.
Hadn't been in a few years, but they did a good job in socially distancing tables and food was good
We loved the salads, loved the fried zucchini, shrimp and grits and strawberry shortcake.
the special porterhouse steak was a disappointment . It was a flat and almost as thin as a pancake for $40.
the ambience was great. Its a beautiful place. We definitely would go again !
Great food , service and atmosphere eating outdoors !
