The Vesuvio Skillet is my go to for brunch. Can't say enough good things about this spot.
Dine here often and the service was as always fantastic! The food however was lack luster which is a first, not sure what was going on but the food was cold and not very tasty.
As usual, Shells and Sauce was great. The service and the food were awesome. The only issue was how close together the tables were; it made for a cramped meal.
James our waiter was great and the food was really good, my husband has celiac and its nice to have gluten free beer and several gluten free dinner options. Loved the fried ravioli appetizer that I had.
Great little neighborhood restaurant. Moderately priced.
It was our first visit and we certainly intend to return. Outstanding food and service. The vibe was energetic and definitely a hot little neighborhood gem.
Logan provided excellent customer service! The food was excellent as well. The pizza was a little burnt and the Chicken Parm was a little cold but overall very good. The GF ravioli for my wife was great!
Went to dinner with neighbors. We were seated immediately and taken to a table upstairs which was great because the tables downstairs are very close together. The food was great but our server, Madison, was a bit tardy bringing bread, the second round of drinks, and extra sauce and cheese. But she was very pleasant. Overall a good experience.
Delicious! Good service, casual atmosphere, reasonably priced. Will go again!
I've been twice and both times the service and food were phenomenal. The ambiance is a bit ruined if you're seated downstairs as people it can be fairly loud and people crowd in by the door and bar to wait to be seated. But as I said, food and service are phenomenal, so it's well worth it.
Food was incredible. Service was on point. GM made it a special evening.
Love eating here.... It's like going home for home-cooked meal!
Honestly was VERY disappointed with the entire experience except for the service, which was very good. Have been here several times over the last year + and have been satisfied. Not the case this time - which is likely my last.
The service was terrible. I made a reservation for 7:15pm and we were on time and we didn’t get seated until 8pm. Not only did we not get seated until then but the hostess never came over to us while we were waiting to give any sort of update. There was a moment where he told us we were next and a two top opened up and he disappeared for 15 minutes
We always enjoy this neighborhood restaurant. The food is good, the servings are plentiful, wine by the glass is ample, and the prices are reasonable. It is a great place to just have a nice Italian dinner at good prices. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 this time was that it was very crowded and service was quite slow. I think that is because it was restaurant week but it was noticeably slow.
We visited Shells & Sauce for brunch with a group of 6. The staff was extremely friendly and we thought the menu selection was excellent. The service was a little slow but the place was packed and we had a few late stragglers. We had the arepa special, chicken and waffles, parm panini and the shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious and we walked out with a food coma.
Amazing place and food. So happy
Great dinner. Older character house, drafty, but fantastic food made up for the temperature.
Denver is turning into a food mecca. Usually disappointed by Italian in this town, raised in NY. Shells and Saice is an authentic experience with great tastes and specials. Kitchen staff had a great handle on a very busy night. 5 stars!
We really enjoyed our meal at Shells and Sauce. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was very good and the wine list extensive.
The food was amazing. However, I was upset to find out upon arrival that the chef changed the menu for restaurant week. I specifically chose this because I desperately wanted to try the Caprese Salad. While he did end up making it for me-I really had to fight for it and That I didn’t appreciate!
I took my wife here for restaurant week and her birthday. We had a great time and we both got to try a lot on the menu. The food was really good and the service was great. My wife and I were able to carry on a casual conversation without it being too loud. We already recommended it to some of our friends that live in Denver.
This is a great favorite and has a good selection to offer. Return here time and time again and really enjoy the chefs art, friendly staff, wonderful ambiance. Love supporting this spot. Check it out!
Veal was over cooked, very rubbery. Was not impressed at all, may come back again but unsure.
Love Shells and Sauce!! Their food is fantastic as well as their HH!! I haven’t tried their brunch yet, I’m sure it wouldn’t disappoint:))
Our waitress was very polite and attentive. The initial host was a bit brisk, but not rude. I had an amazing tortellini with chicken & in a mushroom sauce. The portions are a good size, I have some left over for lunch but if you are hungry you won’t leave that way.
This is a great neighborhood place that everyone I bring to enjoys. If you are gluten free my friend says it’s the best place for pasta.
Great food, a little pricey for what it was, but their happy hour menu looked well priced and I believe its 7 days a week.
The lasagna was very good
Lots of crab shells in my crab cake Benedict:/ was pretty off putting and killed my appetite, although I appreciate that it is real crab. Just unfortunately they didn’t spend the time to ensue someone didn’t bite into them 3 times...
We had a large party and Shells and Sauce was very accommodating! We had a great time with $10 carafes of Mimosas and delicious food!
I have never been more disappointed with a manager in a restaurant ever. He was rude, didn’t listen and frankly, ruined our entire night. I wish I could say the food made up for it.
Excellent service! Very friendly waiter! Drinks were brought to us immediately. Food was very quick
The food is always great each time I come; this time we were seated on the enclosed rooftop which I’d never been up to, so that added an extra special element
The lasagna wasn’t too bad. We gave it a 7/10. We also had the Wild Mushroom Chicken Marsala. I’d give it a 2/10. It was flavorless and the chicken was dry and over cooked. Very disappointing especially for the price.
Great experience ! The server was friendly, and very active.
Great food! Excellent service. Great locally owned neighborhood restaurant! Worth driving from suburbs for. Would recommend for any occasion!!
Loved it! Staff was very accommodating with our reservation. Our server himself was hilarious, prompt, and professional. I had the peach lavender sangria and the stuffed shells duo, both were awesome.
Delicious food plus great service = we’ll be back!
The restaurant shouldn't seat anyone at the table where people congregate waiting for a table. Who wants someone's butt hanging over your plate as you eat? Literally. Way too loud to have a conversation too.
This might be a nice restaurant if you go during the off hours -- either really really early or really really late.
We had a bad experience and it's really disappointing because it was my Dad's 89th birthday celebration -- we only get one of those. We couldn't talk, we had people staring into our plates and talking over our conversation and virtually leaning on our table all night.
Brought my fiance her for her birthday. She loved every minute here as well as her food we will definitely be back soon.
Enjoyed atmosphere. Service excellent. Enjoyed food except bread and dip. I remember the bread used to be excellent but the current recipe was too salty and I didn’t care for the dip. I’d prefer plain oil and vinegar.
