   Came for Sunday lunch. Sat in a restaurant with a lovely view over the water on what was a rickety old trestle table covered with a table cloth. We were greeted with an A4 piece of paper poorly printed (ink was running out and it wasn’t straight) with only 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts to choose from. To be fair, we asked the waiter if we could have a burger and a fish and chips which they did without hesitation. The food was poor, the roast beef was shoulder of beef which for a Sunday lunch is a big no no. It’s tough as old brown boots and is a cut of meat used for braising! The Roast Potato’s were white and had not been near an oven for long enough or the heat was to low. The Yorkshire pudding was bought in, very similar to Aunt Bessie’s and the gravy was the same as they used for the soup we had as a starter The French Onion Soup/gravy was brown water with some croutons and then some sliced cheese put it. The soft drinks are either watered down or not what they say they are as the taste of the “Pepsi” was shocking The roast was so bad that we decided to leave after a few mouthfuls and go somewhere else so I did not eat the burger but my daughter did not eat the fish and chips as she said it tasted funny. We paid the bill and the manager asked if we enjoyed it to which I commented it was the worst roast dinner I’ve ever had and the worrying thing is she seemed genuinely shocked.

   Both the food and the service were fantastic, staff couldn't have been more lovely. A great evening.
