Sheehan's Irish Pub and Restaurant
My wife and I recently visited and all for of us were very satisfied. Service and ambiance was great but the food was the star. We all ordered some sort of seafood dish and all of them were outstanding! We plan to make this a more frequent dining visit in the future!
New owners but food and menu outstanding
New owner but Sheehan’s (after 3-4 recent visits) has remained the same amazing place with no noticeable changes. A great passing of the torch!!! Food is as good as it gets in Augusta (in my top 5 spots and tied for #1). Great menu and awesome apps and entrees——-Swordfish is amazing (one of the best meals in Augusta) and app Shrimp & Grits Cake is fantastic. Salads, Specials, Desserts are all great, and service is ALWAYS superb. Atmosphere romantic and cozy but never stuffy. Always busy but staff always attentive. Frankly it’s the perfect neighborhood restaurant, and so comfortable and enjoyable. Great for a couple or groups—- we’ve done both many times. Congratulations to new owner and thanks to former owner John for many years of awesome evenings, and for your amazing talents and creativity. Your dishes are special and above-and-beyond.
Went to usually very good restaurant to celebrate New Year as well as my son’s birthday. The restaurant was over crowded and extremely loud. We sat upstairs (usually quiet and more comfortable). We were a party of 6 and we were placed in close proximity to a open private room which was full of over intoxicated and very loud people. We tolerated this since it was New Year’s Eve but it was exasperating.
Our server could not get any order right. She was obviously not familiar with cocktails or wines or the menu in general. The food was not as good as usual. The kitchen obviously could not handle the crowd.
Excellent food with nice amounts, new owners visiting tables, will continue to visit often
one of my favorite places and you can always depend on excellent food and service.
Taking our good friend out for a Christmas dinner!
Excellent as always. Mussel appetizer was delicious as was the Tuna entree. Always enjoy dining here at one of the best restaurants in Augusta.
Food was amazing!
We’ve been going there for years and we have never had a bad meal. The food is great and love the overall experience each and every time.
The shrimp bisque was off the chain! I only had a cup full and should have ordered the bowl. Our entrees were very delicious and served in a timely manner. The ambiance is perfect as we were seated upstairs. The music was 60's and 70's oldies which is in line with our ages. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys the local and non chain locations. Loved it!
Great food and wonderful staff!
We went to Sheehan's for a work event and had a great experience. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp and grit cake appetizers. The drinks were great and so was the service. I would highly recommend this place!
Consistently superior food.
Have to try, the Egg, the Green Jacket Salad and the Shrimp & Grits!
Good menu selection, great food, well prepared, quintessential neighborhood gem. I had the Green Jacket Salad along with Fish & Chips. I can honestly say the Fish and Chips were the best ever. The menu features other items that are more imaginative. I think one the keys to Sheehan's popularity is that they keep the menu interesting but not so complicated that it's difficult to execute. It's truly a great find in one of Augusta's established neighborhoods. We'l be back.
I introduced my friend from out of town to Sheehans and we absolutely loved it!! Great service and food was delicious!!!
Food was wonderful and loved the bartender, Karen. She was so friendly yet professional and fun.
Stella was awesome! Food was delicious! Great night out!
Wonderful service ! Delicious food..Would highly recommend Sheehan's Irish Pub..Friendly atmosphere
everything great! love this place
Great night out for my husband and me. Ordered appetizers for a light dinner. Love this place
Great always at Sheehan’s, service very attentive, pleasant and never overbearing. We like Sheehan’s and wish they would change their menu once in awhile to make it more appealing to those of us who dine there frequently.
My favorite restaurant in Augusta. Christina was a fabulous server. My meal, the special summer salad with watermelon, cantaloupe, and shrimp was fantastic. Margaritas are perfect! Everyone in our party of four was impressed.
We really enjoy coming to Sheehan’s. The ambiance is upscale casual and fun. The food is quite delicious. My one complaint was that the skin on my duck was woefully under-rendered.
I got the tuna, it was delicious. My husband ordered a special which was grouper. It was good too, but a bit on the heavy side. The service was fine, not terrible, but not spectacular either. We will go back and would recommend to others.
Last week my wife and I were back at Sheehan's for the third week in a row---
it's becoming a habit, but for good reason.
We dine out 4-5 nights per week, a couple of fine dining ones and a couple of casual ones.
Might rightly call us foodies. We are pretty selective and discriminating in our tastes,
and we remain so when we are traveling.
Decided that Sheehan's is now easily our favorite spot in Augusta. Maybe 4 or 5 other places we like that are close, but Sheehan's does EVERYTHING right every time--- biggest part of that is the BEST FOOD.
And Sheehan's serves the meals HOT and within 15-20 minutes, perfectly presented, and consistently does so.
Flavors are superb, textures right, everything well executed.... and sides are creative and perfectly matched.
For comparison, there's an over-hyped restaurant "somewhere downtown", and after having been there
5 or 6 times now, I remain underwhelmed. I keep trying, really, but to no avail. I don't like waiting 75 minutes for my food, or hearing long pretentious diatribes regarding "specials".....(hey, Tilefish may stay one of your specials for two MORE years as it has been, but it's NOT special unless you do something special with it---and it's boring at best!!!!). Everything falls flat when the food and timely service don't measure up.
In their wildest dreams they don't have anything that comes close to Sheehan's food, like Sheehan's Swordfish, or like the Shrimp over Grits Cake, just to name two. Both amazing meals, and there are more. And they're great every time, and "on time".
Sheehan's, simply put, hits on all points, and they are not pretentious! Great mid-level wines, too, which is what we usually do. Special events we prefer to do better. And the superior service is a constant.
In Augusta, another great place off Davis Rd, 3 great ones in Surrey, another off mid-Central Ave., so I'm sticking with those on rotating basis when the mood strikes, but it'll be Sheehan's at the TOP. Great job!
Always a great experience! They never disappoint
Was able to make a last minute reservation, thank goodness!
We had just a small wait even with the reservation but it was so worth the wait.
Our Server was MaryAnne & she was such a pleasure.
We had mussels that were to die for, Spring Rolls were ok but nothing like the Louisiana Catfish & Grits!
This is definitely a new addition to our Top 5 in Augusta.
Food was very good. This was only our second visit. Our anniversary, so we went all in with pre dinner drink, appetizer, wine, entree & dessert. Everything was excellent.
Always delicious food and fun company a feel good place
Always our favorite place in Augusta. The Scotch Egg and shoestring fries are the best I’ve ever had and as always the Filet was cooked to perfection.
Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere.
Food always great! One of our favorite places.
One of our FAVORITE restaurants in town! Great service, amazing food, and we always see someone we know! A great choice when you want to impress your business guests or friends that come to Augusta!
Had a great time!
This place is so delish! Definitely a must try!
Great place to enjoy quiet evening with your spouse.
Updated restaurant is a nice place for a date.
