   The man at the bar was very friendly and polite with very good service however it went down hill from there We sat at a rocky table, which was sorted however only for a short period. The starters were only just warm, and Beth said she was being water for the table but didn’t get any. She also asked if we were ready to order, my father said soup for him and she said yes then walked away to another table then came back. The meat was very fatty (lamb) with what seemed like packet cheese sauce on the cauliflower cheese where we paid extra for. It felt very rushed, starter then straight to main. Very disappointing and sadly will not be returning. They did sort our bill but it’s not about the money. Just upset our day with my family The man playing on the piano was very good.

   Dear Kim, I’m really sorry your visit didn’t meet our usual standards. We aim to offer great service & memorable Sunday lunches, and it’s clear we fell short. Just to clarify, while my name, Beth, appears on your receipt as General Manager, I wasn’t working that day. I mention this not to deflect responsibility, but to avoid confusion—I care deeply about every guest’s experience. I’ve since spoken with the team about the issues you raised around delays and food quality, I apologise sincerely. I understand this was about more than the bill—it was about the experience. Sadly I have a limit on the amount of characters I can use, but if you're open to it, I’d love the chance to speak with you personally and, hopefully, welcome you back.    We have visited Shearsby Bath on several occasions but this one wasn't the best! My partner and I both ordered the chicken roast dinner, however, when the chicken came out it was so tough it was inedible. They did knock this off the bill in the end. This went back and beef came which was ok. I had a cheeseboard for dessert which was very nice. The service seemed quite slow too with lots of staff milling about but not when you needed them. We were sat near the window and it was so cold I had to sit with my coat on. Overall nowhere near the usual service and food you get here, it must have been a bad day.

   The two roast dinners we ordered were fantastic well presented tasty generous amounts of everything, service is always great very polite and helpful

   Lovely food all serviced quickly and hot , lovely to hear the piano playing and he was just the right level so we could still talk . Great place to eat we will definitely be back , thanks for making it a lovely experience .Happy Christmas 🎄

   The food was nice, big portion of roast dinner with nice desserts at a fair price. However the service wasn’t amazing. The staff were very friendly, however we didn’t get asked if we wanted more drinks. A bottle of wine arrived unopened, and we had to pour ourselves our first glass. Noisy dining room with no soft furnishings to cushion the loud piano. Kids with iPads at max volume.

   First visit here so didn’t know how good it would be, no need to worry the food was tasty and good value for money.service was very good and we didn’t wait long for food or drinks, didn’t feel rushed to leave. Pianist playing in the background, all very nice, we will definitely be back.

   Food is absolutely delicious been several times now never been disappointed. Staff are helpful courteous friendly would definitely recommend to anyone

    Superb Sunday lunch didn’t expect anything less. We got married here in 2022 and very much enjoyed our visit back. The pianist was an elegant touch. The food was beautiful plenty of of it too fresh greens and homemade yorkie puds can’t wait to come back
