The wood-fire oven is central to both the menu and the dining experience, from the incredible homemade, wood-fired pita to vegetable-centric small plates and heartier entrees. Many of the dishes on the diverse menu are meant to be shared and enjoyed throughout many courses.

Food was outstanding. We got way more than we could eat but it was great sharing food with everyone and enjoying the night. Can’t wait to go back.
Amazing menu! We had such a hard time deciding between all the delectable-sounding options, and the food we went with was memorable and delicious. The staff are so nice and hospitable, and we had an awesome experience! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in New Orleans!
We had a wonderful lunch here. Always one of our stops in NOLA. The fried chicken hummus was very good, a perfect combination of sweet & spicy. The lamb kofta was our other choice & it was equally as good. It takes a lot of talent to successfully combine the spices & flavors offered by their dishes, a true party in your mouth !
Shaya had no record of our Open Table reservation
We received great service! Our waiter was very knowledgeable.
Food, Service, and atmosphere was perfect for a date night. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning.
The menu was simple but well developed. The food was very flavorful from the hummus, lamb, to the fish. Our server did a great job. The bartender made some tasty cocktails.
Everything from the drinks to the desert was fantastic, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever even to!!
Top of my list for sure! I’ll be back!!
Food and service were both excellent! Fried chicken hummus is my fave!
The restaurant is cozy and relatively quiet, with only a little background music. The staff, from the hostess, waitstaff, to the management was extremely friendly and helpful. The starters were very good, especially the pickles veggies. On the recommendation of the manager, Mike, we tried the fried chicken hummus. It was to die for. For entrees, we had the lamb and the red snapper. The snapper, with the crispy skin, was white and flaky. The lamb fell off the bone. I don't remember the desserts we tried, but I think I remember them also being very good ( I was kinda in a food coma experience. Our friends, who had never eaten Israeli food,, were very pleased also. All around, it was a great experince. Highly reccomend.
Lunch celebration for son’s graduation. Fried chicken hummus. Amazing! Simply love this restaurant.
Eating at Shaya is always a delight! We had wine and starters and small plates and were completely satisfied. The lamb dishes are divine. We'll be back.
Awesome food and great service! Unique and wonderful flavors
Excellent service and phenomenal food
Best restaurant in NOLA
In love with everything
I really recommend thus rest, food was amazing and people really nice, very good service and dessert uffff😍
We always love Shaya. The food and service are outstanding. Every-time we are in town we eat there and this time we brought friend!
Absolutely amazing. One of the best meals you can have in New Orleans
Took my girlfriend here for our 1 year anniversary and it was amazing. They brought us upstairs to the private dining area and the food was killer. The best Lebanese/Greek food I've ever had. The service was great and the food did not take long at all to come out to our table. I will definitely be eating here again !
Always great, we love the food and service. Keep up the good work.
You have to go! Take a friend and split lots of dishes! It’s excellent!
Shaya never disappoints! It’s one of my favorite spots in the city and one I recommend to anyone who asks. Food and service were great as usual.
Grilled Shrimp hummus was spectacular paired with the deliciously fluffy pita bread that's Shaya's specialty. I'd eat it any day.
The food was delicious! So many different flavors that made for a fun dining experience, and the warm pita bread is everything! Also, cauliflower hummus is always a favorite!
Amazing food with very tasty combinations of ingredients not to mention middle eastern spices
What a treat
We had an unfortunate experience last night. The wait staff were off. Unorganized and not attentive. The ambiance was off too. Total disappointment
We loved this restaurant so much that we had a lunch there one day and supper there a couple days later. It was very quiet when we went but we did go for an early supper. Our waitress was the best server I have had at any restaurant. She was attentive, kind and made an excellent wine suggestion. When she heard we were driving home after supper, she packed us some extra pita bread to go with our leftovers. Shaya will become a regular spot for us when we visit New Orleans. Can’t say enough about the food either. Man, the fried chicken hummus is one of the best things I have had in awhile.
One of our favorite restaurants. With fresh baked pita that keep on coming. The best hummus and delicious cocktails and non alcoholic drinks
Terrible service- felt forgotten s as no nor cared about. Upstairs has terrible acoustics- felt like people were screaming. Lamb was great, everything else was not inspired. Disappointing service- will never recommend or return.
Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten.
The waiter was awesome but his supporting team struggled all night. Do not sit at a table upstairs as food and drinks prepared downstairs. Hot dishes were served tepid. The meal dragged on and on with large gaps between servings. This restaurant is always too loud and upstairs is even worse. The chanterelle mushroom small plate was awesome as were the tuna kebabs. Everything else was vey mediocre including the chicken hummus and grilled romaine. The lamb kofta arrived with the bill as we left. Tourists may still be awed but locals know much better and have other options.
We love this place and come here every time we are in NOLA. Originally founded in partnership between Alon Shaya and John Besh this restaurant was retained by Besh solely when they split. Shaya went on the open Saba down the street. I prefer Beau’s fusion of souther favorites with Mediterranean mainstays like the fried chicken hummus…
As always Shaya never disappoints! Terrific food impeccable service!
Disappointing! I’ve dined at Shaya in the past. This was the worst experience. I do not recommend the lunch menu. We also got a poor server, who even commented about the amount of water we consumed.
Fabulous! Great service, amazing flavors. Go for the fresh stone baked bread alone! Very freezing inside (June 2021) so bring a sweater if you run cold.
Was surprised how good this meal was frankly. Young women waiters were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Standout vanilla custard dessert.
Amazing as always!
Fantastic service. So nice to have real menus and attentive wait staff. Food was amazing especially the hummus with shrimp, and great drinks. Wonderful experience in a well run, well managed neighborhood spot that makes everyone welcome
Perfect. Amazing food, freshly prepared, outstanding service. This is a standout with an exceptional menu.
We really appreciate how well they accommodate gluten allergies at this restaurant. We were all able to share everything and the non celiac members of our group were able to eat the delicious pita bread. Everything was delicious and the portions were very generous. My only complaint is that I don’t live in New Orleans and might not get the chance to eat here again.
