The wood-fire oven is central to both the menu and the dining experience, from the incredible homemade, wood-fired pita to vegetable-centric small plates and heartier entrees. Many of the dishes on the diverse menu are meant to be shared and enjoyed throughout many courses.

We had a great experience at Shaya. The food was delicious, all social distance guidelines and precautions were followed. It was a very enjoyable experience with exceptional service.
The food was delicious & our server went above & beyond. All done socially distanced & with all the staff wearing masks.
We'll be back for the fried chicken hummus; it was to die for.
I ordered the yarden and forgot how much I dislike it so switched to other chard. Both tasted like they had been chilled, brought to room temp, and rechilled.
I arrived on time but hostess said 15 minute wait. I had to convince her to let me wait on patio instead of sidewalk ( it was raining).
Ikra was ok but not the same without roe. I could barely taste anchovies. Can’t remember name of hummus but it was way too smokey. Best thing I ate was the rice.
Server was excellent.
My problem with the evening was lack of masks! Hostess ran back and forth through the restaurant without one. Parties of 6 arrived without mask. Customers passed my table going to restroom without masks.
Check out rules at Saffron and LPG and try to emulate.
The hostess was rude in the manner he spoke to us walking into the restaurant, acknowledging that the restaurant was only taking reservations this specific day. Instead of asking if we had reservations (which we did) he assumed something else.
The waitress was however very kind and provided great service. One of our sandwiches “the steak” which was really a beef roast..was lukewarm and not tender. Overpriced and underwhelming.
The only quality food we had was the bread served with hummus and the chicken sandwich...the cocktail was great.
We loved everything as usual!
Our waitress was great! We initially sat at a table on the patio but unfortunately it started raining. She very kindly moved us inside and was very accommodating all night. The hummus was one of the best we have ever had! Thank you guys for the yummy meal. We will definitely be back!
Always a great meal at Shaya! The service was phenomenal and the family style, shared plate dining is my favorite!! It was our first meal out post quarantine and the steps the restaurant took to provide a great meal while maintaining proper sanitation procedures to ensure a safe great meal for all was very much appreciated! We will be back!
Amazing food. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to.
Amazing! One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
Always good, never disappointed
The food was outstanding. Service was awesome and the place was very spaced out and clean.
Always a delightful experience and amazing meals.
Under the new virus reopening guidelines the restaurant and staff offered the high-quality Israeli dishes as before, making sure all dishes are served under very safe conditions! Loved the experience and taste!
They have a
Limited menu and seating bc of
The lockdown. Service was excellent and the food was lovely
So happy to see this reopen! The staff is on top of the safety precautions. We all felt extremely safe. The service was exceptional, and the food, well of course it was as always outstanding.
So glad Shaya has reopened dine in. Food was outstanding and the service was top notch. The fried chicken hummus and hot pita bread were amazing. The smooth humus complemented the crunchy chicken and sweet spice sauce.
Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and very welcoming. She explained anything on the menu that we had questions about. Each dish was served within adequate time and each dish was executed perfectly. Delicious and filling. The hummus is the star of the show definitely especially the fried chicken hummus. The seafood chermoula was fantastic.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Shaya. We were not really hungry so we shared the Fried chicken hummus and the Lamb kofte kebab with pita bread service. Our waitress was very helpful in giving suggestions. The fresh made pita is heavenly. It was fun to watch them make it in the oven which is in the dining room. It looks like a small pizza oven. It was also fun to try wines from Lebanon and Israel.
Delicious cauliflower hummus and roasted cauliflower dishes
Perfect as always!
The flavors were amazing. Our waiter Ibrahim was fantastic and spot on with his suggestions. We will certainly be back!
The only problem I had is that my stomach wasn’t big enough and I got full on pita bread and hummus before the lamb came out. So really pace yourself at this place because everything was amazing!
One of our favorite places. Service could have been a bit faster.
Best meal of my life. I've been here 8 times & it's amazinger each time!
Great restaurant. Food was good and presented nicely. Service was really good. Will definitely be back.
Beginning to end an AMAZING experience!!
Great Middle Eastern cuisine, fun to share and sample. Great cocktails
Always a great dining experience. And a shout out to the hostess, Natalie, every time I encounter her, she is pleasant, kind and more than efficient. She has become part of why I go there.
We always Love Shaya! We went during Mardi Gras while the parade was going on, and the service was did not miss a beat.
Great!!! Loved it
Had heard about this restaurant for years and wanted to try it while we were in town. Parades were cancelled so we went early for our reservation. They were accommodating and seated us early. The waiter (Chad) was attentive but not intrusive. He made excellent suggestions, and as there were four of us, we were able to try several and share. We tried a new Lima bean dip (can’t recall name and I’m too lazy to look up), fried chicken hummus and baba ganoush (sp?- again, too lazy) Anyway, we tried the carrots, Israeli salad, and falafel. For our big plate we tried the lamb shank. Everything was so well-prepared and tastefully displayed in rustic crockery. The pitas that arrived consistently, hot enough to burn our fingers, but we didn’t care because we couldn’t eat them fast enough. Cocktails were good, particularly the rendition of the old-fashioned. Dessert was nicely done and so delicious, I’m going to try a version of it myself.
Definitely pleased with this restaurant. Ambience was nice - clean, open and pleasant.
Good vegetarian options. The hot Pita Bread was very tasty. You can see it getting cooked hot in the open oven. I mentioned whiling booking the seats that it is my wedding anniversary and they gave us a beautiful anniversary card addressing from team Shaya. Nice Gesture. Must try place in New Orleans.
I continue to enjoy eating at Shaya. Food and cocktails (and teas) are consistently excellent. I would eat there every day, if I could.
Birthday celebration. Better than expected.
One of the best restaurants we have visited. The food was fabulous. We shared the cauliflower hummus and Falafel, which were our favorites. The pita bread— amazing. Definitely one of our new favorites.
What a lovely Valentine’s Day lunch with my husband❣️
