The wood-fire oven is central to both the menu and the dining experience, from the incredible homemade, wood-fired pita to vegetable-centric small plates and heartier entrees. Many of the dishes on the diverse menu are meant to be shared and enjoyed throughout many courses.

Service was wonderful. Everything fresh and delicious.
Excellent and unique menu. Food was amazingly tasty. Love this place.
Delicious Mediterranean food with fresh baked pita bread. Great service and ambiance
Truly one of best restaurants in NO
Shaya was incredible! We were visiting out of town and we’re recommend by many to visit. The food did not disappoint! The service and ambience made for an incredible experience. The pita was piping hot and so fresh. Do not miss the fried chicken hummus!
Can’t recall what we ate but it was all fantastic. The server was very helpful and attentive. Loved this restaurant.
Our meal was delightful, and our waiter (Luxley) was charming and fun. A great night.
So delicious!!! We went 2x during our 5 day stay.... the Humus with cauliflower and the lamb shank were the best!!!
Shaya is definitely a unique restaurant from New Orleans. Not many other places server their kind of food and it is all prepared deliciously. I could just sit there and dip their bread in the olive oil mixture and be content.
Thank you for visiting Shaya recently. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience! We look forward to having you in again soon. All the best, Roger Eyles, Manager
Another superb meal with equally superb service! Thank you so much Shaya for such a wonderful dining experience!
i have a food allergy- server/chef extremely careful- substituted something that "could have possibly" been an issue. Pita fresh from oven was so good. very attentive and nice staff
Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that our staff was able to effectively handle your dietary restriction. We hope you will return soon. All the best, Roger Eyles, Manager
Always an amazing meal. We are still raving about the food. Our server was awesome. The lamb large plate was incredible and the milk and honey is still one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.
Amazing food - felt a little rushed and ordered way too much food. Could have used a little more direction. Would definitely recommend and come again.
Very delicious food. The fried chicken hummus was my favorite. Beautiful cozy atmosphere. It was bustling even on a Wednesday night. Glad I made reservations!
Service was Wonderful!! House music was LOUD and frankly, didn't fit the ambiance or aesthetic. We asked for an outside table and were re-seated quickly. The food was spectacular. The Fried Chicken hummus was my favorite dish.
Thank you for visiting Shaya recently. Good choice on the fried chicken hummus- it's one of the best! Regards, Roger Eyles, Manager
Birthday dinner was delicious
Great food, ambiance, and the waitress was super friendly and hilarious! Would recommend everything about this restaurant!
Our server was super nice and informative. The food was wonderful. Very clean and great ambience.
It's a must visit place in NOLA. I know it's not creole but it's a worthy break from it. Lot's of vegetarian options as well.
Shaya was hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in my life. The hummus and pita was amazing, the food was perfect. Will recommend to everyone coming to New Orleans.
Celebrating Art for Art’s Sake!
Fantastic food, drinks, and service
This place is wonderful! Amazing food and ambiance!
Will definitely come here again when I'm back in NOLA!
Shaya was excellent; from the time we are seated until we left. The food was interesting and excellent and the service was superb. The entire meal was fabulous and we will definitely return when we return in the area.
Shaya needs to offer a ‘tasting menu’ for first time diners. Some items excellent, others ok. I would go back, just order the items I know are great. Worth the visit!
A few picky eaters so I wasn’t sure. Everything was amazing! Picky eaters even enjoyed something different. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Flavor explosions everywhere!
We were amazed at the quality of the food here though not surprised as other reviews had been extremely positive. The atmosphere was very "chic" and comfortable with a great small bar area within the dining room. Not a large place and a great crowd for a Sunday lunchtime so expect it to be a little loud but gives it a good vibe and energy. We did a lot of sampling and really over ordered but will have a better feel for next time. Just so many great things on the menu and we wanted to try as much as possible. Best oven cooked bread and hummus we've ever had, amazing large plates though I'd recommend the lamb # 1 overall as did our waitress. She was fantastic and very helpful. They were a little busy and she may have had a few too many tables but we were still pleased plus her knowledge of the menu and recommendation were spot on. As their menu states Shaya has a wonderful blend of culinary influences mostly from the Middle East/Mediterranean region. PS...save room for the Milk and Honey dessert. You won't be disappointed and will make plans to visit again.
Thank you for visiting Shaya recently. Sounds like you had a great spread- good choices! We're always updating and adding to the menu, so we hope you'l return soon to try something new. Regards, Roger Eyles, Manager
Food was lovely, service meh. Highly recommend the summer squash, but feel free to skip on the halloumi.
Loved the authentic, fresh Israel/Middle Eastern food and the pita bread made right there in the oven is to die for!
Highly overrated, overpriced . We were visiting from San Antonio and made the reservations three weeks in advance, not knowing how mediocre the food was.
This is our favorite place in New Orleans and we try to go every time we’re in town.
AMAZING food and service.
Best dining experience anywhere. Ever. We travel to NOLA two - three times per year & the focal point of each trip is dinner at Shaya. We've even created a ritual we refer to as "First & Last" in which we agree to have our 1st & last meals at Shaya. Once isn't enough. Cauliflower hummus? Yup! Milk & Honey? Hell yeah. Courtyard seating? Bonkers. Drop everything & get to Shaya.
Visiting from San Francisco and received a tip from a local to try Shaya, and to say we were not disappointed is an understatement. It was exceptional. The cocktails, food and service were all stellar. Our server steered our entire meal and she was spot on. Israeli salad was like an elevated Mediterranean salad with the best whipped feta I’ve ever had. The cauliflower hummus was a pleasant surprise, crispy on top of creamy. The slow cooked lamb fell right off the bone and was sweet and savory. Finally the milk & honey dessert was like a custard cheesecake with gelato and granola, and was the best of each one of those elements. Almost forgot, the pita bread served prior to the meal was out of this world. Could have made a meal of just it and the dipping oil. Think puffed pastry meets thick homemade tortillas and you get this pita to rule them all. So far my favorite meal in NOLA. Not a long walk through garden district to reach St Charles to take the streetcar back to the French quarter where we were staying. You must try Shaya!!!
One of the best restaurants in New Orleans! So worth it. It gets busy so make reservations. My best friend and I got lucky our last day of our 4 day girls trip and were able to get lunch reservations before heading to the airport. As a vegetarian, I was having bit of a tough time finding a classy place that served great veg food and so happy I found it! Pita was so so soft, falafel sandwich so tasty...highly recommend. :)
This was my second time to Shaya, and it only got better! Service is top notch. The food is Israeli/Mediterranean with some creative and amazing twists. The overall experience is just fantastic. Shaya sits on my list of Top 10 favorite restaurants around the U.S. that I go back to whenever the opportunity presents!
Everything was wonderful. Service friendly and efficient. Food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely outstanding. So good, we went back two nights in a row. Cannot reccommend Shaya enough. Just go there, you will not regret it. Chad was an awesome server too. Cheers from two Kiwi’s
I really enjoyed dinner at Shaya. Dina was a great, patient server! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting New Orleans.
